Chapter 18- Amara

The week went by pretty quickly and its Saturday already. Its half past two in the afternoon right now

and I am getting ready for the beach. Aaron is going to pick me up at half past three outside the school.

I am going to walk there as Ryder and papa are busy with something. I don't know what they do in the

woods. They say they keep watch on the shifters. I should just get going or I will be late. I am so

excited to go back to the beach. I reached the school at 3:20. I have to wait ten more minutes. I

listened to some songs on my phone to kill the time. Aaron came exactly at 3.30 pm. He is too punctual

to be real. We reached the beach thirty to forty five minutes later. We sat at the cliff for a while and

talked nonsense. I mean it. We literally talked about nothing that made sense. Then we jumped and

swam for a while. Its nearly six right now and we are sitting at the beach watching the sun set. After the

sun had set we got up and started walking towards the foot of the hill to climb up to the cliff as the night

has started to fall. Dark clouds were covering the sky. We were few minutes away from entering the

forest when I saw four boys coming out of the trees. They were all above six feet and well built. We

stopped in our tracks. Aaron held my hand and we started walking again.

"Amara.", one of them called when we were about to go around them.

I turned towards him to see who he is and it was none other than Leorio. I am still in my sports bra and

tights. That means my tattoo is clearly visible. Shit!! I clutched Aaron's hand tighter.

"Hey Leorio." the other three stood a bit behind him to let us talk. One of them started sniffing the air.

Weird. Are we stinking? I am still clutching Aaron's hand pretty hard that I heard him wince. I loosened

my grip a little.

"Just call me Leo, okay. Bye the way, what are you doing here this late?" he asked.

"We came here for cliff diving. We were watching the sun set and lost the track of time. We were just

leaving. This is Aaron, my best friend." I said pointing towards Aaron.

The wind picked up a bit and the sky got covered with dark clouds. I started shivering from the cold and

due to the lack of clothing.

Leo said," I think you two should wait at my place for a while. The storm's coming. Go after the weather

settles down. You won't be able to reach your place before the storm hits. My house is ten minutes

from the cliff by car."

I looked at Aaron.

Aaron said," He is right Amy we won't make it before the storm hits. We should stop at his place."

What if they finds out? But we can’t really drive back home in this weather. I would have to be very

careful.

Leo said," Let's go then."

We ascended the hill quickly and got in the car. Leo is driving as we don't know the way. I am sitting on

Aaron's lap in the passenger seat. The other three are squished in the back seat. I didn't get to see the

others properly due to the lack of light. After five minutes of driving, Leo turned into a dirt road. I didn't

see it earlier when we went to the cliff. After another five minutes, I can see few medium sized houses

all in one line. It’s like a little community surrounded by woods. Leo stopped at the last house. By now it

started pouring down really bad. We ran into the house, trying not to get wet. I forgot to get my clothes

from the car in all this haste. In their, a man was sitting on the living room couch. Oh he is Mr. Cale,

Leo's father. My back is pressed to Aaron's chest to hide the pack symbol. Leo ran inside and brought

us all towels. I wrapped it around me so I can move freely. Mr. Cale told us to sit and we complied.

Leo's mother brought us some hot chocolate.

I looked towards the other guys. One of them has jet black hair and light blue eyes. The other two look

like they are twins. They look exactly identical except one has brown hair and the other has black hair.

The brown haired one is staring at Aaron like he is a piece of meat with a grin on his face. Aaron

nudged me and asked me in a hush voice. Like they wouldn't hear him talk.

"Why does that guy looks like he wants to eat me? It's making me uncomfortable." Aaron said

shuddering a little.

"I don't know. Don't worry I am right here. I will beat the shit out of him if he tries anything." I said

grinning at him.

"I know you will. Why do you think I am still sitting here than bolting out of the door?" he said grinning

back. Geez we are idiots that way.

"Your hairs are still dripping wet. Wipe them or you will catch cold." I said to Aaron.

"But I just did." he said pouting. We started talking to each other, totally forgetting that we had

company.

"Come here I will do it for you." I said taking the towel from Aaron.

"Thank You."

Aaron sat down in front of me on the carpet and I started wiping his head. I think I heard a growl. But I

ignored it. Mrs. Cale came out of the kitchen and sat beside Mr. Cale.

She said," Aww you two are really cute together."

Aaron and I looked at each other and burst out in laughter.

"We are not dating." I said to Mrs. Cale.

Aaron nodded his head.

"Oh I am so sorry honey." She is such a warm lady.

"It's okay Mrs. Cale."

"Just call me Linda and this is Thomas." she said waving towards Mr. Cale. She continued," The black novelbin

haired twin is Caleb and the brown haired one is Carter. And the other boy is Ryan."

The others are sitting on the other sofa at right angle to us. When did they even get there? Aaron and I

nodded at them. Carter is still shamelessly staring at Aaron but from the looks of it, he looks to be eye

rapping Aaron. Am I forgetting something?

"Amara you don't live at Robert’s place right. Where are you living then?" Thomas asked.

I tensed a bit. So he knows that I am Robert's daughter.

"She is living at my place. I wasn't convinced at her living in that apartment alone so I dragged her to

my place." Aaron replied for me. Thanks buddy.

"But why not live with them? I never saw you living there. You and Elena moved in at his place right."

He pressed on.

Are you for real? I mean come on man. Does he not know anything or he is making me spill

everything? I was about to reply but Leo walked in at the right moment. He was shirtless and in shorts.

Aaron saw the pack symbol on his left bicep. He gasped pretty loudly and his eyes widened. Crap!!!!
