Chapter 30- Asher

The Alpha Hercules was really terrifying and the power he was exuding felt like a strong gust of wind novelbin

passed over me. I felt like I would be knocked off of my feet any moment. I know everybody felt the

same. I didn’t wanted to leave Amara there but I had no choice. They are her family after all. They

won’t hurt her. Inside the house the atmosphere was so tense that you could cut it with a butter knife.

There was fear and anger rolling in waves from the people in the room. I felt threatened too. I mean

who wouldn’t. The Alpha and his son, were downright dangerous. Abby was crying hysterically and

Mathew was trying to calm her down but he too looked scared as hell. I heard footsteps approaching

the door. I knew it was Amara. I was about to get up but Leo’s voice rang in my head.

‘Do not pay attention to her. I am not sure if I want her around. No one will look at her. We will decide

on this matter later.’

What? But she is my mate. What does he mean by that?

‘Especially you Asher. Don’t even look at her and stay put. Head down.’ Leo ordered.

Amara came in after a few seconds. I wanted to go near her and embrace her but I stayed sitting with

my head down. Stupid hierarchy. I can’t disobey my alpha’s orders.

"If you guys don't want to see me anymore, it's alright I can understand." She whispered.

Her voice sounded broken but everybody ignored her. A lump started to form in my throat. This is

wrong. The way they are treating her is very cruel. She is a part of this pack.

"Aaron have you seen my phone?" She asked.

"Yeah. I charged it but didn't turn it on." I saw Aaron getting up and walking towards her from the corner

of my eyes. She smiled at him but it didn’t reach her eyes.

"Bye." She said to him.

"Bye. See you tomorrow at school." he hugged her and sat beside Carter. I want to hug her too.

"Sorry about everything." She said to us but everybody pretended they didn’t hear her.

She turned around and walked out of the door. No come back. I got off the chair but Leo stopped me

from going out of the house.

“What the hell was that?” I asked angrily snatching my arm from his.

“Exactly what I said earlier.” He growled.

“So you want me to stay away from my mate just because your stupid ass can’t swallow the fact that

there is someone more powerful than you out there.” I snapped. Leo growled in warning.

“That wolf was going to kill one of our pack mates” He said trying to control his anger.

“Oh yeah! But she wasn’t the one who started it. She wasn’t the one who messed up. It was completely

his fault. It’s not her mistake that the said pack member has anger issues. He hurt her too and you are

telling me to stay away from her. She healed Aby which knocked her out for an entire day. But you

thanked her by being suspicious of her. Mathew attacked her, even hurt her but you rewarded her by

ignoring her. She stopped her father from killing Mathew even when Mathew deserved it. But what did

you guys do? You kicked her out. You hurt her. You even made me hurt her. She didn’t deserve this.” I

felt tears roll down my cheeks. “She is been through a lot Leo. Don’t do this to her. I am going to see

her tomorrow whether you like it or not. You can kick me out of the pack if you want to. I am not giving

up on my mate for anything or anyone.”

I stormed out of the door, leaving the stunned faces behind and started walking towards my house. I

won’t let anyone hurt her and I am certainly not going to stay away from her. They can make me leave

the pack if they want but I am not going to back down. I went to my room directly and locked the door. I

put my head phones on and set the playlist on auto play. I raised the volume to block everything out

and laid on my bed. I closed my eyes to relax but her smiling face with hurt eyes kept coming in the

darkness. I opened and closed my eyes several times but the same happened every single time. In the

end I gave up and kept staring at the ceiling. I broke the promise I made to myself. I hurt her and let

others hurt her. I was incompetent in protecting her. I just hope she doesn’t hate me.

In the midst of the thinking, I fell asleep. I woke up to bright sunlight shining on my face from the

window. I jolted upright. School. Amara. She must be in her school right now. I will go see her after

school. I already missed my first period. I should hurry up but I don’t want to go. Going to school means

facing the pack and I don’t think I am ready for that yet. But I have to. I can’t keep running away from

my problems. I freshened up and picked an apple from the counter. No time to eat now. I was about to

get out of the door but my father stopped me.

“I heard that you fought with Leo yesterday. Even disrespected him.” He asked narrowing his eyes.

“Yes. He had it coming after what he did.” I agreed.

“Have you lost your damn mind.” He shouted. “You disrespected your Alpha? Do you have any idea in

what position will that get us into? If he kicks you out of the pack, we will be outcasts. Explain yourself

boy.”

“He made me stay away from my mate.” I shouted equally angry. “He punished her for something

which was not her fault but his and Mathew’s. He wants me to abandon my mate and I think that’s

enough reasons to disrespect him either he is my Alpha or not. I don’t care if he kicks me out of the

pack anymore. I would rather be a rouge with my mate than live with the people who can’t even take

responsibility for what they did and blames others for their actions.”

“You found your mate?” Mom asked coming out of the kitchen.

“Yes.” I agreed smiling. That’s the only thing I am glad about from last two days.

“When are you bringing her home?” Mom asked squealing.

“I am not.” I said.

“But why?” dad asked.

“With what happened yesterday, I don’t want to involve her with the pack anymore.” I said grimly.

“But why can’t we meet her?” Mom asked a bit sad.

“We met only two days ago. In normal conditions making her meet you guys would be too early.” I said

irritated.

“But you will have to get engaged in this week.” Dad said narrowing his eyes and mom nodded in

agreement. I totally forgot about that rule but the thought of marking her left a weird feeling in my

stomach. A very happy feeling.

“I can’t see that happening.” I replied sadly. I want to mark her as mine.

“If you are too afraid to tell her about it then we will talk to her instead. Bring her here after school.” Dad

said firmly.

“Okay.” I said sighing. “But I am not making her do something she doesn’t want to do.”

I went out of the house but I don’t want to go to the school right now. It’s already late anyways. I left my

bag on the porch and went into the woods. I shifted there and started running in a random direction.

Will she forgive me for yesterday? Will she give me another chance? I have been messing up every

single time since I met her. I am trying though. If I get a chance, I will start over again, erasing all this

mess. But will she accept me as her mate. I won’t give up till the end. She is my mate and I will do

anything to make her mine, even if I have to go against every single person in this world. I have been

waiting for her since I shifted and I won’t let go ever. She is my other half, she is supposed to be with

me and she will be with me. Always. I will make sure of that.
