This was the first time in his life that he had done such a thing in the car.

But he could no longer hold it back. Damien had visited his parents’ manor just now, and his father told him that in the shareholders’ meeting tomorrow, he was planning to sign an agreement that clearly distinguished the ownership of shares of each member of the Radbury family. The marriage between Damien and Ava was a marriage of convenience that was closely tied to the Radbury family and the Nagel family’s business relationship. and he seemed to derive pleasure from her pain. Ava bit her lower lip to stop herself from moaning in pain. He was grasping her neck, and she wasn’t able to breathe at all. Finally, she fainted.

When she woke up again, she was already lying on a bed.

She realized that she was lying on the bed in the master bedroom, and that the bedsheet had been changed back to the original one. Someone had also put on pajamas for her. Every inch of her body ached horribly. She raised her hand and saw that her arm was covered in bruises.

There was also a burning pain in her neck. He had choked her back in the car. Was Damien trying to kill her? Ava struggled to get up. This was when a servant walked in. “Young missus, the young master ordered me to make you some porridge?” “Huh? He asked you to make me porridge? The servant didn’t say anything more. She merely put down the bowl of porridge and left. Ava hesitated for a moment and picked up the bowl. It was hot, and there was her favourite pumpkin porridge inside.

Was he taking a carrot and stick approach towards her?

She smiled bitterly. Why would Damien know what kind of porridge she liked? The servant was probably worried that she would die and specially prepared this for her.

Beth glanced angrily at Ava. She was feeling annoyed after seeing Damien carry Ava home in his arms earlier.

“Ava, don’t get too pleased with yourself. Damien only showed you a tiny bit of concern because he was afraid that you would die.” “Is that so? Are you saying that he’s concerned about me?” Ava chuckled. “You… Stop dreaming. Why would Damien be concerned about you? You don’t even have an idea how much he hates you! To him, you’re as shameless and sl*tty as your mother!” “Watch your words!” Ava’s biggest soft spot was her mother.

She knew very well that Damien hated her, and she didn’t want to pay any attention to Beth’s words.

Beth sneered. She didn’t have the slightest awareness that right now, she was a mistress, just like Ava’s mother.

Ava finally couldn’t bear it anymore. She raised her hand and slapped Beth across the face. “How dare you hit me!” Beth wanted to raise her hand to slap Ava back. But she suddenly saw Karen entering the living room from the corner of her eye. She immediately put on a pained expression and leaned back. The spiral staircase was right behind her. Ava widened her eyes in disbelief. She didn’t even use that much force when she slapped Beth just now. How was it possible for Beth to fall because of it? The servants hurried to help her up, but they couldn’t wake her up no matter what. “Ambulance. Hurry up and call for an ambulance!” Karen panicked and shouted loudly. Ava ran down the stairs and saw that Beth was lying on the floor with her eyes closed and her face pale.

“Slap!”

Karen slapped her forcefully across the face, and her cheek burned with pain.

“Mum, I didn’t mean it. I didn’t push her!” “Don’t call me ‘mum’! The Radbury family can’t afford to have a heinous daughter-in-law like you!” After Karen said that coldly, she followed the servants, who were carrying Beth into the car.
