Chapter 24 Time for Revenge
Laurel didn’t respond to Shelley’s words.
Laurel had already pulled up next to Hero Restaurant.
Shelley dug the food here a lot. No matter who she dined: with, this would always be her first choice.
Those who didn’t know better would assume that she was the owner.
Shelley followed Laurel unhappily into the private room.
A slender figure had been waiting inside. He was standing at the French windows, looking out at the
moat. The weather today was very nice. The bright sun shone on the surface of the moat, rippling in

The man standing sensed their arrival.
He turned around to face them.
There was a smile on his lips. For a moment, the sunlight seemed to penetrate the floor-to-ceiling
windows, enveloping him in a halo.
Laurel suddenly had a feeling. Somehow, the man seemed to be the gentlest man she had ever seen.
He was as sharply handsome as Hayden, and he was definitely unlike Bruno, who pretended to be
gentle and deliberately noble.
His elegant temperament was a natural gift, making him the same as a piece of jade.

“Have you been waiting long?” Laurel asked.
“I just got here,” Nathan answered.
“Sit,” she said.
He found a seat and sat down.
Meanwhile, Shelley found the one far thest away from him to
sit down.

Yet apparently, Nathan didn’t care.
As soon as they were seated, a waiter came respectfully into the private room and brought them the
menus.
They looked through the menus at the same time.
Laurel said, “You haven’t been back in a long time, Nathan. Is there any Rosegrad City specialty that
you’ve been drooling over?”
Nathan hadn’t said anything.
While Shelley beat him to it and said, “I don’t think food abroad is sp ic y enough. Now that he is back
in Rosegrad City, of course, he should have s picy food.”
Nathan pursed his lips and said nothing.
Nathan, Laurel, and Shelley grew up together and knew each other’s dietary preferences.

Although Nathan came to Rosegrad City at the age of eight, he actually came from North City. The food
in North City tended to be sweet, so he never had chili. After so many years in Rosegrad City, it

“Hurry up. I’m starving,” Shelley urged, without giving anyone else a chance to order.
Laurel saw that Nathan had already put the menu away. It seemed that he didn’t have the intention to
order something else.
Laurel gave the menu back to the waiter as well.

Luckily, the food was served quickly.

Shelley started to eat with great excitement.

Laurel wanted to call the waiter here to order something else.
At the same time, Shelley suddenly poured beer. “Is it still a party without beer?”

Laurel thought, “You know better than anyone that Nathan can’t hold his liquor!”
Nathan picked up his glass. “Thank you.”
They started to drink.

“Eat something.” Laurel couldn’t watch it anymore. If things

He had just swallowed it.
In the next second, he coughed. He choked on the chili, and his face turned red.
Laurel quickly fetched him some water.
He took a few sips, but he couldn’t stop coughing.
“After all these years, you still can’t eat s picy food!” Shelley was sarcastic.
Nathan endured it and said, “I choked. That was all.”
The next second after he said that, he took another piece of meat and ate it, and this time, he acted
normal..
Shelley said nothing more and buried herself in food.
There was a sudden knock on the door.
Everyone turned to look at the door.
Nellie showed up and walked in.
Shelley frowned.
She liked Bruno, yet she hated Nellie.

Nellie was even a grade below her. Somehow, they got into a feud, and they almost fought back then.
“Nathan, why didn’t you tell me that you’re back? My friend saw you when dining here, or I wouldn’t
have known that you’ve come back already.” There was a tone of complaint in Nellie’s voice.
Nathan sounded cold. “I’ve only come back recently, and I’ve been busy!”
“What’s keeping you occupied? Do you want to make your way into Cooper Bank?” Nellie asked
straightforwardly.
Shelley was losing it.
“No. I started a company with a friend, trying to start my own business,” he answered.
“Is that so? Sure enough, you’re not like some people. Some people just stay home and live off their
parents. They aren’t capable of anything, and they even go to nightclubs all the time…”
“Are you referring to yourself?” Shelley asked.
“What are you talking about?” Nellie was furious. “I’ve never been to nightclubs!”
“Too bad. I have proof.” Shelley took out her phone.
The phone screen showed a photo of the drunk Nellie in a nightclub.
“Who’s the man holding you? He’s pretty cute,” Shelley looked at her phone while commenting.

Then she deliberately handed her phone over to Nathan. “See? Isn’t he cute?”
In the next second, Shelley screamed.
Nellie grabbed her phone.

With a sneer, Nellie opened a small window in the floor-to- ceiling windows and threw the phone out.
The phone fell into the moat outside.
“Nellie! You bi tch!” Shelley lost it.
She went forward and grabbed Nellie by the hair.
Nellie was in great pain. She grabbed Shelley by the hair as -well.
The fight that never happened in their school days was finally happening today!
And it was nasty.
Nellie probably couldn’t handle Shelley’s attack anymore. She screamed, “Laurel, help me!”
Laurel smiled coldly.
Several times in her last life, Shelley tried to teach Nellie a lesson, but she always stopped Shelley.
Nellie was, after all, Bruno’s sister. Laurel wanted to protect Nellie.
