Alpha's Rejected Mate

Chapter 13 : Peculiarities 

"Jonas rejected you on your first Meeting, isn't that too humiliating?" David went back into the room as he said and picked up the dirty clothes from the bed and floor.

Anaya looked up and saw a woman on his bed, covered with sheets, her eyes closed.

Anaya felt shivers all over her body.

Was that David's mate? It couldn't be.

If he found his mate, then the Alpha position would be his early on.So a one night stand huh.

David threw the mens and womens clothes into the basket and laughed at her before closing the door to her face.

It wasn't surprising to have the door slammed at her.

Anaya had only taken a few steps away from the door before she heart the woman in the room scream loudly.

Anaya was so frightened that she dropped the laundry basket.

She rushed back and was about to bang on the door when the scream slowly faded into a groan and soon, Anaya could hear a giggle.

Anaya’'s eyes widen and she hurriedly created some distance between herself and the door.She gulped and picked up the basket again, ready to leave.She knocked on Jonas’ room and waited again.She let her hair fall around her face so he won't see her face much.

Jonas opened the door and threw the clothes at her nonchalantly, then banged the door.

Anaya looked down at the last night.So he brought a girl too? Anaya honesty didn't mind.

She didn't love him and their bond was broken, so it didn’t matter if he brought one or a dozen girls home to satisfy himself.

Anaya finished the laundry and when lunch time came, she was only given a corn on the cob.

When the housekeeper gave it to her, Anaya was disappointed but not surprised.She expected this behavior from the Alpha's family.

"I'll take my leave then." Anaya said to the housekeeper after finishing her work at the Alpha's house.

She left the house and walked to her own house.

Those on the street discreetly or openly pointed at her.

Rejection was nothing disgraceful, but some people still thought it was shameful to be rejected.

Anaya must have done something wrong, that's what everyone thought when Jonas rejected her.

She is just a servant, she doesn't deserve the future beta, Anaya could almost see their thoughts even without looking up.

When Anaya reached home, Charlotte was watching TV with Ginny and Edgar was at work.

Seeing Anaya come back home, Ginny sneered.

"I thought you finally decided to end this useless life of yours."

Ginny taunted, "Or did you find someone to fill the void after being rejected? After all you are free to be a w***e now that Anaya felt goosebumps accross her body. She clenched her teeth and remained silent. Charlotte frowned at her mother's language.

"Mom, Anaya is sad too.Why are you talking like this?"

Charlotte said and then turned to look at Anaya with sympathy, "Anaya, don't take mom's words to heart.You don't have to feel sorry for yourself.Maybe it was a mistake on the goddess’ part.How could you and Jonas be a pair? The difference is too obvious.But don't worry, just endure it for a while and after I become the Luna, I'll make sure that no one will point at you anymore."

Anaya frowned as she heard tha last part, "Luna?"

Charlotte smiled, "Yes, yesterday you left the party early so you probably don't know.The Alpha's family have been talking to mom and dad for a while and want me and David to be a pair.Yesterday David proposed to me in front of everyone.Once l am eighteen, I'll become the Luna.Until then David and I can choose to date or be single.David said he doesn't want to date me right now because I am too young, so we decided to get together at sixteen."

Anaya found it so ridiculous that she almost laughed.

Dating? Luna? Anaya shifted her eyes from one side to another, she couldn't find anything right about this situation.

Charlotte was only twelve, David was at least nineteen.

Charlotte was still a minor, how could they already decide her future? And David clearly didn't take them seriously, or why would Anaya wanted to ask her mother, what was she thinking? But she didn't have the courage nor was it her place to ask.

Anaya was only a servant in this house.

Although they shared the same blood, there was no familial relationship between them.

Charlotte was her sister, but Anaya couldn't treat her like one.

Anaya muttered a congratulations and went to the attic.She tried to busy herself with things but she couldn't help but remember the special lessons that were given to Charlotte.

First that and now this Luna thing.

How were they so sure that Charlotte would be his mate? And what made Charlotte so special that she was worth abandoning David's mate? Anaya didn't know and it was slowly draining her energy to think.She took a big gulp of water from her plastic bottle, her emotions all over the place.

Anaya clutched the bottle tightly and kept drinking.

When she was halfway through, the bottle suddenly started to leak.

Anaya quickly pulled the bottle away from her lips, just in time to see the bottle explode.

Anaya’'s hand hurt a little but it was nothing bad.

Did she hold it too tightly? But Anaya didn't have that kind of strength.She was a relatively weak werewolf and the bottle was very thick.

Maybe it was a fluke.

Anaya sighed and started to clean up, thankfully the water didn't fall on the mattress. novelbin

But what Anaya noticed while picking up the bottle was that the bottle exploded from the inside, not outside.
