Chapter 38 - Does she know?

Anamika opened the door and Andrew and chang were standing in front of her.
"Brother..."
She jumped excitingly and engulfed him in a hug. Chang reluctantly hugged her back.
He casted a shocked look towards Andrew and Andrew did the same but they both went in.
"How are you Andrew?"
She hugged him too.
"We are fine anna, how are you...?"
Andrew asked suspiciously while chang was looking at her confusingly.
They never saw Anamika behaving like this. She was happy and the smile was not leaving her face for
a second. Chang never left her alone on her birthday, the last nine years Anamika spend her birthday
by locking herself in her room, crying and starving herself the whole day, mourning for her
grandmother. So chang never left her alone fearing that she will harm herself. But this Anamika was
totally different from the Anamika he knew. He was happy but skeptical at the same time looking at her.
"Yes, I am perfectly fine... Why don't you guys freshen up first. I have made your favourite breakfast,
come fast, we'll eat together..."
She smiled and chang frowned.
"Anamika what happened, why are you behaving like this... Are you ok?..."
His voice was full of worry.
"Yes brother, everything is fine, don't worry I am not crying anymore, I am perfectly fine... I have to tell
you something... both of you, I have called rose too, she is joining us for breakfast..."
Chang nodded at her hesitatingly.
They all finished their breakfast and now rose, chang and Andrew were looking at Anamika confusingly.
None of them had any idea why she is behaving like this. Chang decided to break the silence.
"You wanted to tell us something, Sweetie..."
He asked still with suspicious eyes.
"Ahh... Yes... Actually... It's... I mean... I..."
She stuttered nervously, she was thinking how they will react, they'll probably freak out.
She took a deep breath and said loudly so everyone can hear.
"I want to tell you all, that I am in love..."
She finished in one breath.
Andrew choked on his coffee and rose almost spit her juice coughing... And chang already left to grab
his medical kit with concerned face...
He came back and started to check her.
"Did you eat something stupid Anamika, don't tell me you are taking drugs now..."
He took out an injection to take her blood samples.
Anamika's eyes widened at this and she quickly held his hand stopping him.
" Damn, what are you doing... Stop it.... I am not taking drugs, I swear...."
She said hurriedly, shaking her head.
"Then why are you talking shit... Who are you, where is our anna..."
Andrew asked narrowing his eyes at her and rose furiously nodded in agreement.
"Shut up Andrew, stop talking rubbish... Brother listen to me atleast, why are you guys acting like I have
gone crazy..."
She whined.
"Okay, speak... What love you are talking about..."
Chang kept his medical kit aside and crossed his arms leaning against the chair.
"Ok, I am in love with this man, his name is Massimo Marino... I love him brother..."
She declared leaving everyone open mouthed.
"Massimo Marino. You mean that famous handsome richy rich businessman, the Italian Greek god...
My boss..."
Rose said in disbelief.
"Yes, that's him.."
Anamika confirmed. Chang was still looking at her like he is dreaming.
"Brother trust me, I am serious, I love him and he loves me too... He is really good..."
"How and when...?"
Andrew whispered in a 'i don't believe you' voice.
"We met 9 months ago but it's been 3 months since we are dating... He is a really nice guy, trust me
brother you will like him..."
Suddenly chang lifted her up and swirled her in the air.
"You are really in love Sweetie.... Finally, thank god... Who is this guy, salute to him he melted this
stoneheart..."
Chang placed her down and gave her his happy smile and she blushed returning the smile.
"Rose pinch me, it's not real, look she is blushing..."
Andrew said and she rolled her eyes at him playfully.
On the other hand rose was fuming in anger, she picked up the knife from breakfast table and said.
"You bitch, you were dating for almost nine months and didn't tell me anything, I'll kill you... You just
wait..."
She started walking towards her and Anamika quickly hid behind chang.
"Listen to me rose, actually I was going to tell you, but I wanted to give you surprise... See how
surprised you are... you are my best friend, why would I hide it from you... Trust me"
She said using chang as a shield and hoping that it will work on rose.
"Really, surprise...?"
Rose scratched the back of her head like a confused person.
"Yes, surprise..."
Anamika confirmed and chang shook his head in disbelief, he knows Anamika and her games very
well.
Rose threw that knife away and said excitingly jumping like kid...
"Yess, anna... I am so happy, you finally fall in love..."
And hugged her.
"Wow rose, you are so smart...."
Andrew said sarcastically and rose thanked him, thinking that he was really complimenting her.
And everyone bursts out laughing...
TIME SKIP
It was evening... novelbin
"Everything is ready, son... I hope she'll like it... And her family is coming too, right?..."
Anjali asked Massimo curiously. She was excited to meet anamika's family.
"Yes maa, they all are coming. She confirmed me about it... And she'll will love it, thank you so much
maa for doing all this.."
Massimo looked at the arrangements impressed.
"What thank you, it's my duty I am mother your afterall and she is such a sweet child...
Roberto told me everything about that office scene, she is perfect for you my child. I am so happy that
she is your love..."
Massimo nodded in agreement.
Anjali was seeing changes in her son, he stopped smiling after her daughter's death since he loved his
babysister like his own daughter and her death was a turning point for him. He thinks it's his fault that
he couldn't protect his sister, he became emotionless after that and she got worried about him thinking
what if he will spend his whole life like this, alone... But she was happy that her son finally started
smiling and laughing.
Finally two broken souls started healing each other.
Anamika's family arrived at Marino's, she was wearing an elegant pink coloured dress which Massimo
gifted her for her birthday.
Marino's welcomed everyone and introduced each other.
"You're looking stunning, baby..."
Massimo kissed her forehead making her face turn pink with happiness and everyone looked at them in
awe.
They celebrated her birthday, and everyone congratulated her.
Chang was only looking at Anamika since this is the first time he saw her laughing. She was smiling
and she looked genuinely happy... Chang never thought that he will be able to see the old Anamika but
here she stood in front of him glowing in happiness and he could see love in her eyes and not those
emptiness, sadness and hate... It was love for that Massimo...
Tears of happiness gathered in his eyes and Andrew gently rubbed his shoulder.
"She is happy, chang... You don't have to worry about her anymore, she came out of her dark room..."
Chang nodded at him smiling...
"Yeah, she did..."
"Wow, you know how to play piano... Anna.."
Anjali asked her excitingly.
"Yes, maa"
Anamika replied with smile.
"Excellent, you have to play something for us come on..."
Anjali dragged her towards the piano.
Anamika looked at Massimo for help but he only shrugged at her evilly grinning.
Everyone focused on Anamika as she sat in front of the piano.
Massimo was standing beside his mother with wine in his hand admiring his beautiful angel.
Anamika started singing while playing piano.
She sang mere hath main song from Fanna movie. Each and every word held deep meaning, it was a
beautiful song and her angelic voice was adding shining stars to it. She deliberately chose this song for
Massimo, for telling him how much she needs him in her life.
Massimo was looking at her with adoration as he understood the beautiful and promising meaning of
each and every word.
"Thanks for teaching me hindi maa..."
He said to his mother and she grinned.
"You're welcome, my son..."
The song ended and everyone clapped for her.
Massimo walked towards her and kissed her in front of everyone... And everyone started cheering...
"I'll always stay by your side baby, I love you..."
He confessed passionately.
"I love you too Massimo..."
He was about to say something but chang interrupted them.
"Massimo I want to talk with you..."
Anamika looked at Chang's serious expressions and felt uneasy as she knew chang will try to become
a overprotective brother now.
"Yes, chang..."
Massimo broke the chain of her thoughts by his strong voice.
"Not here, it's private..."
He said and Anamika looked at him nervously.
"What happened brother? is everything ok..."
She asked worriedly.
"Yes Sweetie, everything is fine I just need to talk something with him... You don't have to worry about
it..."
He assured her, she looked at Massimo and he nodded positively at her so she left them alone after
that still with an uneasy feeling in her mind and heart.
"We will talk in my study, there's too much noise here..."
Chang nodded in agreement.
They both were sitting in his study on the sofa facing each other. Chang was looking at him with a
serious look on his face... Massimo didn't understand why he was acting like this.
"What's your actual intentions with Anamika..."
He finally broke the silence and Massimo frowned.
"What do you mean, I love her chang..."
He kept himself calm.
"Can I trust you with her?, she is like a daughter to me Massimo and I care for her..."
Massimo nodded in understanding at his words.
"I know you care about her chang, trust me I love her and I'll never hurt Her..."
He handed him a glass of scotch.
Chang took a sip of his scotch and looked at Massimo and asked him...
"Does she know, who you are?..."
Massimo's body stiffened at his words.
"What do you mean?..."
Massimo asked him in a hard voice directly looking at his eyes but chang didn't even flinched, he was
smirking at Massimo.
"Does she know that you are a mafia king... Massimo Marino..."
He smirked and Massimo tensed.
"How do you know about it?..."
He asked gritting his jaw.
Chang chuckled at his words.
"I was a mafia doctor Massimo, what do you expect... Anamika doesn't know anything about this, does
she?..."
"No, she doesn't know anything... And I am not planning to tell her either..."
He declared and chang frowned.
"Why not... Are you afraid that she will leave you..."
"She can't leave me, I won't let that happen... She promised me that she'll never leave me and I won't
let her go either, she is mine..."
He said possessively and chang was taken aback by his sudden outburst.
"I was right, you are obsessed with her Massimo... Anamika is not your love she is your Obsession..."
Chang glared at him.
Massimo chuckled darkly at him.
"Yes she is my obsession I agree, chang... But I love her too... And trust me I can do anything to keep
her with me, even if I have to hide my darkest secret from her..."
The possession in his eyes scared chang. Chang has seen that thing in scorpions eyes before and it
didn't went well for any of them. Those beast were destroyed because of the innocent beauty.
"You are crazily obsessed and you want me to trust you... I can't trust you, you can hurt her in your
crazy obsession..."
Chang spat at him gripping his glass tightly.
"Yes I am crazy for her chang but trust me I'll never hurt her, not even a scratch will make it to her
body... I'll never cage her, she is my tigress and she will roam and rule her forest freely. I'll make sure of
that, even if I have to cage everyone else I will but she will roam freely...she is my queen and she will
rule beside me, I promise you..."
Chang relaxed a bit at his words, atleast he wasn't caging her like other Mafia's do to her woman.
"Massimo she have gone through hell. I have seen her in pain and in her worst condition. I have
witnessed her breakdown and I have worked hard to keep her sane, she was on her edge to loose her
sanity... Just a little push from you and she will loose her everything, she is already broken and I don't
want you to break her more. She won't be able to survive this time... She is in love with you Massimo, I
saw it in her eyes. It was the first time I have seen her behaving like a happy human and not like a
walking dead body... Don't hurt her ever I beg you..."
Chang was literally pleading him.
"I know chang, and you have no idea how much I respect you for that, you saved my love and I'll never
forget that... I'll never hurt her, her smile is my life, I love that fire in her eyes, I like it when she roar like
wild tigress. I love her every shade, every inch... I'll kill each and everyone who would dare to touch
her... I promise..."
He confirmed and chang smiled.
"What if she find out by someone else, Massimo... How can you manage to hide it from her, forever..."
Chang asked.
"I will... I have to"
Massimo said and chang chuckled.
"You think you know Anamika... No, Massimo... Anamika is a mystery and you can't solve it so easily,
whenever you thought that you solved it you will find one piece missing... I know her, every inch of her
mind, I have opened her mind and thoughts fully when I was treating her psychologically...
She is a deadly combination of beauty with brains..."
"What do you mean?..."
Massimo asked him confusingly.
"I have seen many patients, I am in psychology for years and it takes years to bring them back to
normal life and even after that a little bit trauma and they loose themselves again, they fight with
themselves, their inner demon and if they loose they kill themselves and if they won they come back to
life...
but anamika was my first patient who scared me, she came back just within one year after going
through such brutality... She never tried to kill herself, she only did that when there was no way to
escape but when she got her freedom, she never hurt herself...
She has a very strong mind and she knows how to control it... When people struggle to live normal life
after suffering from hell, Anamika build her own empire. Can you believe that a girl who was on edge of
loosing her sanity, instead of breaking down and trying to survive, she build her own empire and
destroyed her enemies just within 7 years...
When I was treating her I saw her two personalities, one is kind and loving her real personality, the
second is dark and cunning. It's a dangerous one since this personality came from her breakdown and
betrayal of her own family... She is an extremely smart woman and she knows how and when to use
her brain...
She is not the old innocent Anamika anymore, she has become cunning now, she doesn't trust people
Massimo. If you think that she trusts you or me then you are wrong, I am her doctor and I know her
more than anyone.. She may be in love with you but she doesn't trust you, she doesn't even trust me...
It has become a part of her, whatever happened with her in the past after that her mind doesn't allow
her to trust anyone...
If you want to hide your secret be careful because if she got even a hint about it, she will find out
everything within a snap...

Chang told Massimo and he was stunned.
"I will chang, I'll be careful... I know she is cunning and I love it... She is caring, loving and kind too but
what attracts me most is her cunning personality... She is perfect, exactly the way I want... And I know
how to handle her"
He smirked in confidence but still he had doubts in his mind, anamika is definitely far too cunning for
him.
After their talk, they left from Marino mansion... Massimo kissed her goodbye...
"What did you two talked about, brother..."
Anamika asked chang curiously.
"Nothing Sweetie, I was just threatening him to take care of you..."
Change laughed playfully and everyone joined him.
"I see..."
Anamika smiled.
She looked out of the window and her smiling lips slowly turned into an evil smirk.
