Chapter 13 - But you always say that.

What have I done?

You slept with your baby daddy.

I couldn't process my thoughts throughout the day. It had been a busy day but my mind kept rushing back to my mind. Derrick was currently released on bail which really brought a smile on my face. Grayson didn't seem pleased with the fact that his father was out on bail.

"Honestly i don??t mind if he stays in jail longer?" Grayson muttered. He had these cute dimples with gray eyes that could lure anyone into captivity. His hair in a smart quiff.

"Why's that?" I asked sipping on my cup of coffee since i didn??t even get to have breakfast.

Duh because Angelo satisfied you.

"It's complicated and besides you wouldn't understand." He frowned, which was really cute.

"I'm a lawyer i have listened to the worst confessions, might as well call me a priest. Gray, I'm sure i can handle what you have to say."

We were sitting on the benches at California federal Prison waiting for his temporary release. I really assumed Grayson would be happy his father is out but he wasn't the least happy about the news.

"Well if i tell you don??t freak out too much." He raised his eyebrow.

"Yes, pinky promise." I mustered a devious smile.

"Come on Raina, don??t treat me like Ashton and Ashley."

We both laughed, oh how i missed my babies.

And their father.

I hated having thoughts like this, these thoughts about him and i. It was wrong and it will never happen again, i promised myself.

"Okay tell me, I'm all ears." I gestured.

He looked at me for a moment, I wondered if he would say something that could help me with Derrick's case.

I gave him a reassuring smile.

"Well...uhm...gay."

What what what?! I was shocked but still amazed. Everything made sense, Derrick is an uptight father or was maybe still is.

"Is that it ?" I asked and he simply nodded.

"You are okay...with..it ?"

"Why wouldn't I be ?" I giggled.

Suddenly Derrick came with a policeman behind him, a huge smile on his face like he had just won a jackpot. I hope he didn't forget that this was only temporary and he shouldn??t get too excited incase the case doesn't go as planned.

"Thanks officer." Derrick said sincerely as the officer removed his handcuffs handing him back him wallet, ID, a silver watch that looked like it could pay my apartment rent for the whole year.

"Yeah dad, good to see you." Derrick immediately hugged his son, this was quite awkward for me as i just stood there looking lost. Once they broke off the hug, he pulled me into a big crushing bear hug.

"Thank you Raina." He whispered.

"Oh please, dont thank me yet." I said subliminally.

"But i have to. I know you worked hard to get me this bail seeing as it had been declined about four or more times.

"Okay well it was a pleasure.?" I paused..."This means we have more time to work on our case including witnesses, evidence etc.

I arrived back home feeling tired and frail, i looked around noticing the toys were everywhere and unpacked. How many times had i told them to always pick up their litter.

"Ashton ?? Ashley ??" I called removing my heels .

"Hey." Alma walked out. "They just took a warm bath then fell asleep." She awed at the thought.

"Thank you Alma."

"Hey don't sweat it besides its good practice for my future beh-beh on the way." She rubbed her stomach, i couldn't wait for the little pumkin to be born already.

"Oh and Maya left early she said she wasn't feeling too well and she didn't want to worrry you so i told her i didn't mind taking care of the cutest nephew and niece." She sat next to me with her medium bumb sized belly. She was literally the woman version of Angelo on looks but definitely not personality wise.

"Also reme-" i cut her off, i knew what was about to say.

"Raina, i just dont want Angelo to hurt you more than he has already done." She laid her hand on top of mine.

"Uhm, i have nothing to do with Angelo, it was a mistake and it wont happen ever again."

"But you always say that...?" She frowned.

"I promise i won't. I mean it this time, he asked me to stay out of his life and that's what i have been doing for the past few months." I paused. "He is committed to someone whom he really loves and i won't be the one to break that up." I continued. "I'm just happy he is becoming a good example for his kids that's all."

"I'm glad you feel this way, i wouldn't want you getting hurt by any of this." She paused and looked at me like she wanted to say something.

"It looks like Angelo is about to settle down, a week ago he asked my opnion on engagement rings."

My heart dropped and broke into a million pieces but why was i feeling this way ? Why does it hurt ?

"Uhm hopefully Ashley can be a flower girl, she would look so cute in a dress and Ashton in a small cute tux." That's all i could come up with.

"Are you okay with it ?" She asked with concern.

"I'm okay with it, if you told me this some months ago maybe i would be hurt but i don't care anymore." I paused trying to digest this. "Life continues..."

He used me.

I said my goodbye to Alma putting on that fa?ade around her was quite hard. I went to check on my babies and they were asleep they made this, everything worth it.

I went to my room, i didn't even realize tears were streaming down my cheeks. I laid there but my bed sheets smelt like him. In a swift drift, i pulled the covers off as well as the duvet, i couldn't stand his cologne on my bed. For a moment i just sat on the carpeted floor with the sheets in my hand crying silently. I felt like a failure, a fool, meeting Angelo was the worst thing that could ever have happened to me and falling inlove with him was the death of every single happy chapter i was ever bound to have.novelbin
