Chapter 22- She Is My Family Now

Aiden's POV

"What the fuck was that?" I say, barging in to my brother's room.

"Oh calm down. I just wanted to ruffle her feathers a little bit, I meant no harm." Luka responds, lying down on his bed.

"Oh don't give me that shit!" I say before pulling him up by his collar.

"You did more than ruffle a few feathers..." I say, pushing him back down on the bed but he gets back up, standing a few feet from me.

"Okay fine! Your little mate will not become the ruler, her little family can't just waltz back in here and take over like they never left. They left and we picked up the pieces, my family was the one the people looked up to." Luka says to me.

"Oh that's what this is about? You're pissing your pants because you can't be the boss anymore? No more little freebies?" I joke about, trying to annoy him and it works.

"You know what our life was like! Don't act humble now, you enjoyed all that it had to offer." Luka tells me and I chuckle.

"I'm not acting humble and to correct you, I will still enjoy the benefits as I am mated to the daughter of the first family." I say, looking out the window as the sun sets in the heavenly realm.

Luka chuckles with me, before his face contorts to one of anger. novelbin

"Bastard!" He shouts out and I smile back at him.

"I am no longer part of this family so what you do to her, you do to me. If you form a resistance against her, you are forming one against me and I will fight you. I will not hesitate to end you or father if you ever come for what rightfully belongs to my mate. She had to overcome so much to get here and I won't let you or that scum of a father take it away when she has not even taken over for 2 minutes." I say, the anger returning ten fold inside me.

Luka smiles back.

"And because you wish my mate harm, your mate will also be fair game and we both know she's no Sabrina. We both know she won't survive whatever I plan for her." I say honestly.

I cared for Leslie, I still do but as beasts we protect our own by harming the other. If any harm comes to my mate, I need to lay it all out on what I would do to avenge her.

"This has nothing to do with Leslie! You leave her out of this?" He shouts at me.

"Or what? What will you do that you're not already doing to my mate?" I ask.

"Sabrina doesn't belong here and you know it!" Luka says to me, making me growl.

"Look okay, I don't want to fight you." He says, showing his neck in submission.

"I just believe times have changed and one family can't rule over us forever. They have been gone for so long, this nation is different." Luka tries to convince me.

"Oh but that's where you're wrong brother. You still breath the same, your only problem is that you had a taste of power and you can't let it go, even if it's the right thing to do." I say.

Luka growls in response.

"Down boy." I say, before father storms in.

"Aiden, leave us. Luka what did you do? She's on to us!" Father says to my brother and I smile at that.

"I did nothing. I just merely stated that some of us are not going to blindly follow her." He says, which has my father growling before he punches him in the face.

"You idiot! And you, I said to leave us Aiden." He says but I shake my head no.

"I'm not going anywhere until I deliver the message to the two of you. It would also be nice if mother was here to hear what I have to say." I say, knowing very well my mother was somewhere close by listening in on this conversation because where my father was, she wouldn't be too far.

"Come on dearest mother." I call out, making her walk shamelessly in to Luka's room with Leslie and Jane behind her.

"Well, it seems like everyone is here to hear this. That's good, then I'll only say this once and I'll be out of here and never return." I say.

"Oh don't be dramatic Aiden! This is your home, you grew up here!" My mom says.

"That's right mom, I grew up here but my home is with Sabrina now." I say, making her growl.

"What did you want to tell us? Out with it boy." My dad says.

Patience was never his strong suit.

"I love Sabrina, I've loved her from the moment I laid my eyes on her. She is the one for me, as fate would have it and I fall deeper in love with her each day. What this family is doing to the first family is wrong and I'm actually disappointed that father, you would go on to do the things your father did to that family all in the name of power. This family has already betrayed the first family and by mercy we still live, yet you want to test the strongest man alive once again for what's rightfully his. Hunter will not run

this time because his children are old enough to fight alongside him and by this, you have lost me as your son. I will fight against all of you to protect my love. I will fight beside my mate at every battle and if that means I have to kill each and every one of you, I will because she is my family now and it is the right thing to do." I say, my mother gasping.

"Oh you know nothing!" Father tells me.

"What I do know is that I will stand by Sabrina through it all and if it means standing against all of you, then so be it but I say this as a reminder to all of you that wish to go against the family that reigns rightfully so, Sabrina and I are immortal and you can all die. It will hurt me deeply to have to end any of you but I will do anything for my mate and I hope you heed my warning, she has my heart on pieces of strings and what she wishes for, I shall grant it. You also need to remember that they are royalty, you are just normal folk in their eyes and in the eyes of the public. You may have ruled before but that's because the people had nobody else to look up to, now they do and you don't like the fact that it's not you.. You did not earn that position, you stole it. It was never meant for this family." I say before walking right past my family and out of Luka's room.

I know they won't stop their mission to oppose my mate but now they know which side I'm on and I don't lie. I don't want to but if I have to fight them, I will and not only because of my mate, but of what's right.
