In a quaint, dimly lit cafe, Emma and Jada huddled over their laptops, a myriad of open tabs on their
screens displaying various news articles and social media posts. The ambiance of the cafe, usually
serene and cozy, contrasted starkly with their intense focus and the gravity of the conversation.
“Bella dragging me into this mess? That’s plausible,” Emma mused, her fingers drumming on the table.
“She’s always been cunning and manipulative. But how did she even get her hands on our wedding
photos?”
Jada, her eyes scanning the screen, replied, “It’s quite a reach, but she might have connections we’re
not aware of. Your marriage to Alex was low–key, but not invisible. Someone from your wedding could
have leaked the photos.”
Emma sighed, leaning back in her chair. The warm glow of the cafe lights seemed to deepen the lines
of worry on her face. “I thought I was finally free from all this drama. But it seems like the past just
keeps pulling me back.”
As they continued to delve into the digital trail, a middle–aged gentleman, elegantly dressed, walked
into the cafe. His presence commanded a certain gravitas, drawing the attention of other patrons. It
was Johnson, Emma’s brother–in–law.
Johnson approached their table, his expression a mix of concern and curiosity. “Emma, I heard about
the news. Are you okay?”
Emma looked up, forcing a smile. “I’m fine, Johnson. Just a bit annoyed at being dragged back into
Alex’s orbit.”
J sat down, uninvited, his gaze shifting between Emma and Jada. “If there’s anything I can do
to help, let me know. I have a few contacts that might be useful in tracing the source of these leaks.”
Jada chimed in, “We were just discussing the possibility of Bella being behind this. It seems like a
desperate move to deflect the negative attention she’s been getting.”
Johnson nodded thoughtfully. “It’s a plausible theory. Bella’s reputation is hanging by a thread, and
she’s desperate enough to try anything.”
Emma’s phone beeped with a new message. She glanced at it and frowned. “It’s from Alex. He’s
asking to meet.”
The room fell silent for a moment. Johnson’s expression hardened slightly. “Are you going to see him?
Emma hesitated, then shook her head decisively. “No. I’ve closed that chapter of my life. Meeting him
now would only complicate things further.”
Johnson reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Emma’s. “You’re making the right decision. Focus
on moving forward. Let Alex deal with his own mess.”
