Emmett looked at her flushed face, but his expression remained indifferent. “Are you in trouble?”

His voice was calm, but if one heard carefully, they’d discover the hidden concern in his voice. It could’ve warmed any woman’s heart. But Alyssa was just now any woman.

Alyssa pinched her blanket and said coldly, “None of your business.”

However, her cold face had no threat to him at all. Although his composure didn’t change very much, there was a flicker of anger flashed in his eyes.

He had only walked a couple of steps when he met Frank. Frank held a tablet near to his chest. And looking at his expression, it seemed like he wanted to ask something. “What do you want?”

Frank came in front of him and asked, “Boss, what are we doing about the news on Madame? Do you want to hold a conference or do you want me to contact the media…?”

Emmett recalled what Alyssa said, snickered and laughed coldly, “What does it have to do with me? Even if I want to help, she has to want my help. Ah!”

Emmett shook his head and went to study as soon as he finished.

Alyssa didn’t plan to be bothered by the news on social media. Instead, her thought switched to Moore family, after she heard Skylar’s words.

She didn’t know why Skylar suddenly did that. Didn’t Skylar make clear that she didn’t want to be associated with a cripple like Emmett? Or did she have other motives regarding these articles?

Alyssa snorted coldly. She couldn’t be bothered to guess.

What she only cared now was that Hazel had already known that she had replaced Skylar to be married to the Lawrence family. And Hazel might directly tear her apart.

Just as she was thinking about this, she received a text from Hazel. The content was not too much but a name of a café ‘Golden Sunlight’ on the city center.

“It’s earlier than I expected.” She muttered and prepared to leave for the meeting place.

Even if Hazel wanted to tear her up, she still had to find Hazel.

The place in which they met was relatively a remote café. There weren’t many people around, so it was perfect to meet without getting caught.

After all, Hazel was a small actress with a following of seven to eight hundred fans. She would also be worried about being recognized in public.

When Alyssa arrived at the café, Hazel had already arrived.

Alyssa sat down opposite her and greeted with an apologetic tone. “Waited for long?”

Hazel crossed her arms and leaned back on the chair. She looked her in eyes and said slowly, “You are the young madam of Lawrence family. I nobody like me should wait for you.”

Alyssa could not help but burst into laughter, “No need for that. We’re actually very fine now.”

They respected each other’s space and they also didn’t interfere with each other’s business. It was the best arrangement she could ask for.

The two of them chatted for a while, before Hazel’s manager called her. “I’ll be there in a short while.”

Before she left she rushed to pay the bill.

Aurora’s voice was unusually warm, “Alyssa, can you come home for dinner?”

Alyssa rejected and said calmly, “I don’t have time. I’m very busy.”

This was the first time she had even snapped back to her mother. She had had enough now. Aurora never cared about her. All of her patience and kindness were poured towards her step-children. And what she got was fury and annoyance. Aurora would never talk with Skylar with this impatience.

In the end, it was because she didn’t care.

Aurora didn’t care about her and that explained her attitude.

She simply treated her as she pleased.

Now she didn’t care about Aurora anymore. So she would definitely not warm her up like before.

“Then look for Skylar. She’s more filial and gentler than me. The two of you definitely fit with each other.” After saying that, she didn’t even wait for the other party’s response and directly hung up the phone.
