At first, Lucy had planned to get off work early and go home. When she saw the car, she changed her mind.

Lucy waited till 8 p.m. and only left the office after seeing the Bentley drive off.

"Did you come out so late because you wanted to avoid me?" His voice was as cold as ice.

Lucy was startled when she saw Arthur leaning against the wall with a cigarette between his fingers. His handsome face was hidden in the darkness, and she couldn't see his expression clearly.

Lucy, who wasn't her usual self, drove towards Johnson Group. Since her calls couldn't get through, she had no choice but to look for him at his office.

When Lucy went into the headquarters, all the staff greeted her that way with a smile. She was displeased at the way they addressed her, so she wore a stormy expression and didn't respond.

She walked all the way to the CEO's elevator, but was stopped by the receptionist. "Sorry, Mrs. Johnson. You can't go up."

"Why?" Lucy tried her best to speak calmly.

The receptionist shot her a practiced smile and said, "Orders from Max. I'm not sure of the details

either. Perhaps you could call Mr. Johnson to ask?"

The receptionist led Lucy to a waiting area. She drank so much coffee that she felt like throwing up, but she still couldn't think of a good way to get upstairs.
