Chapter 11 She’s Not Sure

Betty was startled and turned around to see Kerwin wheeling himself slowly into the room.

Kerwin was also astounded. He did not expect his wife to welcome him home with no clothes on.

Betty was even more shocked.

Her mind went completely blank. She immediately reacted with a scream and dashed towards the bathroom.

The floor was wet. Her foot slipped, and she fell forward.

“Watch out!”

Kerwin’s face changed. He hurriedly wheeled himself forward to catch Betty, and then she fell onto his lap… He accidentally touched her wet soft body and was slightly stunned.

Kerwin looked down and saw Betty’s little face flushed with panic.

At first sight, Betty didn’t look very stunning. But if one looked at her a little longer, he would find that her charm resided in her delicate features.

Betty wasn’t wearing any makeup. A few strands of her wet hair were tucked behind her ears, and water droplets traced a path down her hair, collarbone, and breasts.

Kerwin felt his throat tighten, and his eyes were ablaze with desire.

Betty finally held herself steady. Then she looked up in a panic and met Kerwin’s deep eyes.

Betty read his eyes and immediately understood something.

“Sorry…” Betty hurriedly got up, but when her hand touched Kerwin’s thighs, she froze for a

moment…

Betty ran into the bathroom in a panic without looking back.

She then closed the door, her heart still beating wildly.

That was so close…

Betty flashed back to that moment in her mind, and she was freaking out. But suddenly something dawned on her,

Betty and Kerwin were now a couple. Even if they had sex, it seemed to be the right thing to do. Was it bad that she ran away like this?

After that, Betty climbed into bed.

Much to Betty’s relief, the bed was large with two blankets and two pillows on it. Kerwin and Betty both had a side of the bed, and they were two feet from each other.

Seeing Betty lying down, Kerwin asked her, “Are you done bathing?” Then his gaze returned to the screen.

“Yeah,” Betty answered and glanced at Kerwin’s screen curiously.

Betty knew that Kerwin’s company was mainly engaged in the funds and bonds trade. The computer screen was full of red and green icons and lines. Betty did not understand any of them and looked

away.

“Wanna sleep now?” Kerwin glanced over his shoulder at Betty.

“Yes.”

Kerwin then turned off the bedside lamp.

As the bedroom was plunged into darkness, Betty became a little nervous.

She still couldn’t figure out why Kerwin married her and wasn’t sure if he would have sex with her later.

Betty was lying stiffly in bed. With the clock ticking, Kerwin beside her fell asleep. Hearing his

steady breathing, she finally relaxed and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning.

Betty’s phone alarm woke her up. She opened her eyes, only to find that Kerwin’s side of the bed

was empty.

Betty freshened up, put on light makeup, and went downstairs.

When she reached the staircase, a delicious smell of food filled her nostrils.

Maria was busy serving food. At the sight of Betty, she smiled kindly. “Mrs. Martin, you’re up. Please sit down for breakfast.”

Betty walked to the table full of food.

Maria made them a hearty breakfast of pancakes, muffins, and hot milk.

Kerwin was at the table sipping at his milk while reading a newspaper.

Betty froze when her eyes fell on Kerwin’s hand.
