Dangerous Invincible

Chapter 14 

Agony.

That's what I felt as soon as Xerxes sank his teeth on my neck.

I gasped at the unwanted pressure that was building up where he had his teeth sank on my neck.

I tried to push him away but his one arm that was wrapped around me and his other hand, holding my neck in place refrained me from moving an inch.

He had me locked in a position just how he wanted.

I cried at the burning sensation that spread from my neck to all over body.

My mind was foggy and unclear.

He slowly retracted his canines back and licked my neck clean.

I felt drained of energy as if he had sucked the life out of me.

When his hold loosen just a little I pushed him away with whatever strength was left in me.

I backed away far as I could from him.

He could have caught me easily if he wanted to because my movements were slow and unstable.

My left hand reached up to touch the area where he had bit me but as soon as I touched it, it burned making me yelp in pain.

His face was blank and stoic giving away nothing.

"Wha...what did you d-do?"

My voice come out in a mere whisper.

My throat felt dry and sore.

He cocked his head and eyed my neck where he had bitten me.

"I've given you a mark"

I gulped trying to moisten my dry throat.

His words didn't settle well with me.

"Ma-Mark?"

I breathed in deeply.

Asense of fatigue washed all over me but I tried to fight it back by blinking rapidly.

"Yes, a mark of submission.’ Came his reply.

He rubbed his jaw and kept looking at me as if waiting for my next move.

"What does that mean?"

I mumbled trying hard to stay awake and keep myself up and not to fall down on the floor.

"That means you can't defy me or my orders now"

He replied my questions without any hesitation.

"Because I am your Alpha now"

He said giving a stress to the word Alpha.

I couldn't understand clearly what he said because I started feeling dizzy and the ground started swirling around.

I blinked rapidly trying to clear my hazy state but the more I tried, the more it pulled me into it.

"I don't run..."

Before I could even finish my sentence, darkness consumed me but before I could completely lose my conscious I felt myself land on something hard yet soft at the same time.

tk I woke up with a pounding headache as if someone had knocked me out by hitting me at the back on my neck.

I groaned before gripping my hair because my head felt so heavy as if it weight tonnes.

"You're awake"

I jumped a little at a sudden noise in an otherwise quiet room.

I saw Lucy standing at the doorway with a tray on her hand which was filled with food.

My mouth watered at the sight of heaven on her hands.

She walked into the room closing the door behind her with a little help from her leg.

I licked my lips looking at the tray filled with food in her hands.

I was famished as if I had been starved for days.

My stomach growled loudly proving just how hungry I was.

Lucy chuckled lightly and my face turned crimson in embarrassment.

She placed the tray on the bedside table and sat down on the bed, beside me.

"You can eat after you have your medicine."

She handed me an aspirin with a glass of water.

I took it from her murmuring a quiet thank you.

After I took my medicine, she patted my knee with a soft smile.

She placed the tray on my lap and my mouth watered more.

"Eat as much as you want.’ Lucy chuckled when she saw me licking my lips.

I gave her a toothy smile and started digging in.

"If you want anything else don't hesitate to ask, okay?"

Her voice was soft like always.

I nodded my head quickly and gave her an okay sign because my mouth was filled with food and if I try to utter a word, I would end up dirtying the sheets.

She smiled again before getting up and walking out of the room.

As I shoved the food in my mouth, my mind went back to the events that happened yesterday after ‘our talk’ in his office.

When I remembered the mark he had given me, my spoon froze mid air which was filled with food and supposed to be in my mouth.

I kept the spoon back on the plate before my hand reached up to touch my neck.

When I touched it, it didn't burn like it did yesterday instead it felt tingly and weird when I touched it.

I rubbed the mark trying to get rid of that tingly feeling but to no avail.

I huffed letting it be and continued eating my breakfast.

I ate everything that was on the tray.

I was really satisfying after having my fill.

I rubbed my stomach before keeping the tray on the bedside table.

I threw the sheets off of me and got off the bed.

I grabbed the tray and walked out the room, my stomach filled and a smile etched on my face.

I descended the stairs and towards the kitchen to wash my plates and a coffee cup.I saw Lucy making something and when I saw chocolate, it spiked my interest because I love chocolate.

"Are you making cake?"

I asked Lucy excitedly.

She yelped jumping a little, she kept her hand over her heart and gave me a startled look.

"I didn't mean to you scare you.I am so sorry.’ I apologized quickly when I saw her expression.

"It's okay.And yeah, Alpha loves chocolate so I am making a cake for him."

She answered getting back to her work. novelbin

I nodded my head slowly and walked towards the sink to wash my dirty plates and a coffee cup.

He loves chocolate just like you.

I heard my wolf say.

So what? I asked her getting annoyed by what she said.

Just that we have something in common.

As she said that, I felt was something different about my wolf but I couldn't place a finger on it.

Do you feel it? I asked my wolf thinking she would know what I am trying to say or felt.

What? My wolf asked instead.

Don't you feel something different? Or is it just me? I cocked my head trying to understand what that change was.

Yeah, something is different.

Our bond is stronger than before.

I feel it.

I could hear my wolf's excitement as she said that.

Yeah, that's it.

I feel it too.

I was delighted when I realized what was the change in me, us.

My wolf's voice faded away after she said that.

I smiled when I finally got my wolf's name.

Because of our weak bond, we weren't able to communicate properly in fact it was only after meeting Xerxes that she started talking more with me or should I say our bond grew a little stronger than it was before I met him.

And perhaps, his mark did something to me and my wolf's bond too.

"Maybe our bond isn't that strong yet, Vivi."

I whispered smiling sadly.

"Did you say something, Meryl?"

I snapped my head towards Lucy whose eyebrows were raised and she looked worried.

"No, nothing"

I shook my head giving her a reassuring smile.

I turned around to start washing my dishes when Lucy stopped me.

"What do you think you are doing, Missy?"

Lucy interrogated me and I turned around to face her.

"Lam going to wash my plates and a cup." I answered confused by her question.

"You don't have to.You go to your room and take rest.I will do everything.’ Lucy walked towards me and held both of my shoulders then she pushed me lightly towards the kitchen exit.

I shook my head reluctant to do as she said.

"But I've got enough rest and I will be bored in my room...alone’ I whispered the last word and she gave me a sad smile.

"Let me do the dishes then I will help you in making the chocolate cake-"

I offered her the best puppy dog eyes I could master up and even pouted my lips for an extra effect.

Lucy shook her head and swayed her index finger right to left in front of my face indicating no.

"Please, let me help you.’ I pleaded her.

I saw a flash of hesitation on her face and then she sighed heavily.

"Alpha won't be happy"

"Why won't he be happy?"

I asked her not understanding what she meant by that.

"He informed me to let you rest and to take care of you, not to make you work.’ She grumbled, massaging her temple.

Even though, I know Lucy would never lie, I couldn't believe a word she said because it was Xerxes we were talking about.

He doesn't care about me.

He just wants to control me.

Maybe he meant other thing and Lucy took it as another.

That would be it.

"I will explain him if he ask anything.And also I make awesome chocolate cakes."

I clapped my hands excitedly, grinning widely.

I will explain him if he asked anything? Who was I kidding? I am not going anywhere near him instead I'd try to be out of his sight as long as I can.

"Okay."

Lucy sighed in defeat and I jumped in excitement because I was gonna make chocolate cake, my favourite.

Or maybe I would get to eat it too.

"Okay I will do the-"

"But I will do the dishes and you will only help me in making the cake.That's it"

Lucy narrowed her eyes at me with a determined look on her face.

"But-"

"Or I won't even let you make the cake"

I snapped my mouth shut at her words and nodded my head quickly agreeing with her terms.

She smiled clapping twice.

"Okay, it's decided then.’ Then, we start making his favourite chocolate cake.
