Chapter 20: Change of plans

The car stopped in front of my old house. I was planning to run back home and follow Ethan's scent. I needed to help him.

"Shawn, I'm gonna go for a run." I climbed out the car. novelbin

Somehow Shawn didn't buy it. "Oh yeah? Well I'm coming with, I can't have a princess running alone in the forest." he smirked.

"No, I'll be fine." I smiled, reassuring him.

Shawn chuckled. "I've known you for your whole life. I know when you're lying to me and when you're not. You're lying right now." Shawn growled.

"I'm sorry Shawn but I'm going to do this."

"And this is about Ethan?" He raised his eyebrow.

"Yes, how did you know?"

"The whole school knows."

"If you are going, so are we." Shawn smirked.

"We?" I asked.

Louis and his fighters walked out the forest. Niall and Luke came running to us, out the house.

"Are you serious?" I asked excitedly.

"Yes. Louis offered to help and he brought a few of his best warriors with. And we will go. Now does anybody from Grayson's pack helping?" Shawn asked.

"No. They're too afraid of Grayson." I said.

"Okay. I know a rough route that will lead us to dark moon's borderline." he said.

"What if we get there too late and Ethan is dead?"

A big dark grey wolf jumped out from the forest and he bowed, showing respect.

"Ethan is running with us." Shawn looked at the wolf.

"Ethan!" I hugged the grey wolf and he wrapped his arm around me. Ethan was bigger than all the other wolves. But still not as big as Grayson.

"Sister, the thing is, we can't have you going with. Stay here with Jessica. Grayson would be pissed at us and you. And I won't let my baby sister go with and possibly get caught." Shawn smiled.

"But I want to fight." I begged.

"No, stay here." Shawn pulled me in for a hug and I hugged him back.

"Please be careful, all of you." I said, with a tear rolling down my cheek.

Shawn smiled and ran into his wolf form. Luke and Niall followed, they all disappeared in the forest. I walked to Jessica's house and knocked on the door.

After a few seconds, she opened it.

"Hey Danielle, have you been crying?" She pulled me into the house.

After sitting down and telling her the whole story, she hugged me and advised me to message Grayson.

"Just message him and tell him to come over." she said.

I took my phone out and hesitated to type. "Hey Grayson... please come over to Jessica's house, I need to talk to you."

I immediately got a reply. "I fucking missed you. I'll be there in 10."

I closed my phone. "He'll be here in 10." I smiled in relief. "Thank goodness." Jessica turned the TV on.

After a few minutes, Grayson walked in. I ran up to him and hugged him.

"I missed you." he said.

"I missed you too." I smiled.

"So where are your brothers?" He asked.

"They've gone for a run." I lied.

"Is that so?" He smirked.

I nodded.

"Don't fucking lie to me." he growled.

I couldn't. I'm going to tell him.

"We were in class and then Andy kinda flirted with me over the phone. Ethan took my phone and told him to stop. Andy challenged him to a fight and Ethan accepted." I said, looking down.

"Thanks for being honest with me." he kissed my forehead.

"I already knew at school. I read your thoughts. My warriors have already defeated Andy and have him caged." he said.

"Oh..." Caged? He might be cocky and a flirt but he's not a beast.

"Now let's go home." he said.

"Okay." I said goodbye to Jessica and walked out.
