Chapter 4

Alice had no idea how her pursuer was able to find her despite the crowd in the hall. Is it a coincidence? Or did he recognize me? Without saying a single word, the man stared at her quietly, yet his silence was enough to make her heart race like a jackhammer. Thus, Alice started to grow fidgety, knowing well that she mustn’t be captured by the man before her. After all, the fact that she handcuffed Ethan to the bed alone was all the reason he needed to make her pay. Therefore, she had a feeling that she was about to be chopped into pieces and crushed when she met the man’s eyes.

across her eyes, she gritted her teeth and asked, “What would you like me to do?”

“Put this on. Once the elevator stops, I need you to get out of here and pretend as if you’re hurt.” Alice then took off her bloodied gown and gave it to her. Deep down, she knew there would be someone outside the elevator waiting for her, believing it would stop when it reached the first floor. Therefore, she had to be prepared for what was going to happen because that moment would decide whether she could get out of the place successfully.

Despite Leah’s reluctance, she was forced to do as Alice told her to. Meanwhile, Billy blinked while looking at Alice, praising her deep down for her shrewdness and resourcefulness. What a meticulous plan she has there! In fact, she even knows the Yeager Family’s secret. Who is this woman, actually? Soon, the elevator stopped on the first floor shortly before the door opened. Nevertheless, Alice didn’t say anything, only responding with a cold glimpse before she put on her mask again. When Billy noticed how calm her reaction was, he couldn’t describe how taken aback he was. What kind of lady is she? At that moment, he was reminded of the time his cousin insulted Alice for being a fool not long before he canceled their engagement. As soon as the elevator door opened, Alice quickly stepped out of it and dashed forward. “My car is just up ahead. It’s not far from here.” Billy knew it wasn’t the time for questions, although he had a lot to ask Alice. Since his car was near the elevator, it’d probably take only a few seconds for them to reach it. However, their pursuers were hot on their heels as Alice reckoned those few seconds could prove dangerous to her.

Meanwhile, since Alice used Ethan’s exclusive elevator, he had no choice but to wait for it to arrive shortly before it reached the third floor. Then, after getting into the elevator, he was somehow intercepted on the first floor. When Brandon saw him inside, he sighed and took a deep breath. “Mr. Knight.”
