He’s getting closer! He’s here!

Elaina already heard footsteps coming from the door. From far to near, each step seemed to be on her heart. She wanted to hide in a hole.

Elaina tried her best to calm down. When she looked up again, she was ready to face Jalen.

However, there was only Takvor in front of her.

Elaina wondered, where is Jalen?

Why isn’t he here? Is he behind Takvor?

Elaina stretched her neck and looked behind Takvor. There was still no one.

“Where is that kid?” Nitzan had a cold expression on his face. Seeing that only Takvor care in, Nitzan was

angry.

“Jalen said that he has something urgent to attend to. He will come to see you later.” Takvor was nervous. Mr. Jalen suddenly left. I couldn’t stop him.

“Something urgent?” Nitzan frowned and looked at Takvor with a cold face.

Takvor had no choice but to tell the truth. “It seems that something has happened to Ms. Dunston. Mr. Jalen

left after answering a call.”

So, it was because of Marie.

Elaina sneered in her heart. Sure enough. For Jalen, Marie is always the most important person. Even Nitzan

has to give way.

He likes Marie so much. Then why did he agree to marry me back then? Couldn’t he resist Nitzan?

“Brat!” Nitzan knocked on the ground with the cane in his hand. Obviously, he was furious.

“I wonder how that woman bewitched him!” Nitzan was angry and wanted to say something more. But he

suddenly remembered that Elaina was still here, so he stopped.

Nitzan looked at Elaina, his face full of shame. “Jalen was blinded by that woman for the time being. When

he becomes lucid, he will realize that you are the best person for him.”

“It doesn’t matter, Nitzan. He and I have already got a divorce.” Elaina smiled. She was not angry.

But Nitzan insisted. He said to Elaina, “No. You are the most suitable person for Jalen. I will make him change his mind.”

Elaina frowned and was a little confused. “Nitzan, why do you… think I am the most suitable for him?”

Elaina did not understand. She had never seen Jalen. From the moment she met with Nitzan, he had always been on her side. Nitzan would help Elaina even if he had to quarrel with Jalen.

Elaina did not think that she had such great charm. She felt that Nitzan was partial to her without reason.

Nitzan was surprised, but he quickly replied, “When I first saw you, I felt that you and Jalen were a good match. This is intuition.”

Intuition?

Elaina stared at Nitzan for a moment. He seemed to be sincere, and she could not see anything unusual.

However, Elaina also had an intuition that things were not that simple.

However, she was here to ask for Nitzan’s help today, so it was not good for her to dig into it. Elaina smiled and changed the topic, “Nitzan, actually, I came here today to ask for your help.”

When Jalen arrived at the Dunston’s home, Marie’s parents were taking care of her in the room. When they saw him, they quickly got out and left Jalen and Marie alone.

“Your mother called me. She said that you are not feeling well? What’s the problem? Why don’t you go to the hospital?” Jalen asked.

“It’s nothing. My mother was making a fuss.”

Marie was a little embarrassed and continued, “You didn’t need to make this trip. I’m sorry.”

“I promised your brother to take good care of you, so you don’t have to feel sorry.” Jalen stared at Marie. “Are you sure there’s no problem? Or do you want to go to the hospital?”

“I’m really fine. I know my condition.” Marie shook her head, feeling a little guilty.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll go home first. My grandfather is still waiting for me to have dinner.” After saying

that, Jalen turned around to leave.

Marie suddenly called out his name. Her eyes were red. She said, “If it was not for my brother’s instructions, would you be concerned about me?” novelbin

Jalen looked at Marie in silence. After a while, he said, “Take good care of yourself. Don’t think about anything else.”

“Alright. I’m going home. Have a good rest.” After saying that, Jalen got out of the room.

Downstairs, Marie’s parents felt uneasy when they saw Jalen come out so soon. “Jalen, why don’t you stay with her for a little longer? She has been talking about you all this time.”

Jalen glanced at them coldly. His gaze went straight to their hearts. Jalen saw through their thoughts easily.

“Take good care of Marie. If anything happens to her, the Dunston family will no longer exist. Do you

understand?” Jalen said coldly.
