Chapter 27 A Man’s Tender Moment

He negotiated her forested chasm entire night. From the bathroom to the bedroom, and from the bathtub to the bed.

At the end of the battle, Lu Jinye walked to the bathroom, turned on the shower and washed up.

When he came out of the bathroom, he caught a glimpse of the phone that had just been left idle.

He picked up the phone and saw the name on it.

Looking at the time, he realized that the last call was made three hours ago.

He glanced at the time subconsciously. It was already one in the morning.

He picked up the phone once again and called Xiao Qingqing.

Xiao Qingqing had a habit of not willing to go to sleep if she could not reach Lu Jinye.

It was a habit that she developed since the day they got together.

Xiao Qingqing was different from Mu Zhi. Xiao Qingqing was a meticulous woman who needed to be enveloped in affection.

Mu Zhi, on the other hand, was an iron lady.

It seemed that the call was picked up within fractions of a second it rang.

“Jinye.” Xiao Qingqing’s crying voice could be heard from the other end of the call.

“What’s wrong? Are you crying?”

“No…”

Xiao Qingqing quickly denied it but her denial attempt was seemingly unconvincing.

“I miss you. Have you finished your work? I want to see you.”

From the other end of the phone came Xiao Qingqing’s reserved voice while Lu Jinye glanced at Mu Zhi for a moment.

Mu Zhi smiled at him, as if she did not care at all.

“Will you come and find me?”

Xiao Qingqing pleaded once again. All of a sudden, a woman’s voice could be heard, “My lady, stop standing by the window. Mr. Lu will not come at this late hour.”

It sounded like a slip of the tongue from the maid.

But that remark had erased all thoughts of refusing from Lu Jinye’s mind.

He pondered and then replied faintly, “Okay, I will go over now.”

“Muah! Love you, Ye!”

A happy squeal could be heard from the other end of the phone before it was hung up.

After that, Mu Zhi got up from the bed. She deliberately waited for Lu Jinye to finish the call before entering the bathroom, lest he thought she was eavesdropping.

Lu Jinye was in the midst of wearing a coat when she was entering the bathroom.

“Going to see Miss Xiao?”

Mu Zhi asked casually.

“Are you jealous? Or are you reluctant to part with me?”

Lu Jinye asked jokingly. A smile flickered over his lips.

“I’m just worried that your body can’t handle it.”

Mu Zhi replied provocatively while sliding her hand across Lu Jinye’s body.

What else can they do? Meeting each other in the middle of the night…

Mu Zhi would not believe that Xiao Qingqing asked Lu Jinye over merely to tell her some bedtime stories.

Seeing that Mu Zhi was not jealous, Lu Jinye felt a little dismay. He glanced at the time and went back to the room to change.

“What happened?”

Lu Jinye was all dressed up, getting ready to leave the house.

He turned his head and saw Mu Zhi’s pale face. He knew that something was wrong.

Mu Zhi was in so much pain that her eyes were teary, but she shook her head, trying to feign a smile.

“I’m okay honey. Can you help me get a sanitary pad? I… I’m fine.”

Sceptically, Lu Jinye went back to the room and found a sanitary pad for Mu Zhi.

When he touched Mu Zhi’s hand, he found that her fingertips were stone-cold. Her face was extremely pale and her body seemed to be trembling.

Yet she was flaunting. With great difficulty, she headed back to the bathroom.

However, the journey seemed strangely challenging.

Lu Jinye took a look at Mu Zhi. He frowned and walked towards her, carried her and placed her on the toilet seat.

Mu Zhi wanted to refuse but she was powerless.

Her stomach cramps were insufferable.

There was no way for her to take off her pants and wear the sanitary pad.

“What can I do for you next? Take off your pants?”

When there was no response from Mu Zhi, he frowned and acted on his own.

“Stop!”

Mu Zhi quickly stopped Lu Jinye from taking her pants off.

She then said to him, “You must go quickly. Keep Miss Xiao waiting.”

Seeing that Mu Zhi had stood up straight. He asked again to make sure she was okay before he left.

With great strength, Mu Zhi took off her pants and put on the sanitary pad. Having resisted the excruciating pain, she walked out of the bathroom door.

She wanted to get herself a glass of warm water.

However, as soon as she picked up the glass, it fell to the ground and broke as she followed suit.

Just as Lu Jinye was about to get into the car, he glanced into the room like how he normally would. He caught a glimpse of what happened.
