Chapter 15 Concern
"What do you mean?" asked a sarcastic voice of a woman.
Both Darren and Stuart turned around.
Darren's eyes widened.He couldn't look away as he saw Claire wearing a short dress, revealing her long, slim legs.
She gracefully walked toward them.
"Mr.Sampson, you had an affair with another woman and got her pregnant.But you're justifying yourself by saying 'we are not meant for each other’. Better find another excuse."
Darren's face darkened.He had been looking for Claire everywhere but didn't expect her to suddenly appear and hear his remark about her.
Stuart glanced at Claire and patted Darren's shoulder, smiling.
"Well, I don't want to bother you guys.Carry on."
He thrust his hands in his pockets and left.
Claire and Darren were all alone in the garden.It felt as if the temperature had dropped a couple of degrees.
Awkwardness filled the air.
Darren stared at Claire, lost in thought.She looked breathtaking, but he had never realized it before.
Remembering he didn't have the chance to explain himself to Claire before, he decided to apologize to her now.
However, a hint of irritation settled in his heart when he looked at her again.
"Why are you wearing such a skimpy dress?"
"Do I have to get your approval before wearing something?" she retorted.
"Most young people here are wealthy playboys.It's unsafe for you to wear such a dress here.You better leave soon."
Claire's face reddened with rage.
Now that they had divorced, she hated him for pretending to care for her.
"You and I have nothing to do with each other.Why do I have to listen to you?"
"Yes, we are not together anymore." Darren frowned.
"But you don't have to provoke me this way.You don't have to risk your safety and dignity just to piss me off.Those men just want to have fun with you.They're not reliable..."
"Oh, please.They're definitely more reliable than you," Claire retorted.
Darren knew she was mocking him for cheating on her.He took a deep breath and explained, "Look, I have never loved Sierra."
"Wow!"
Claire dramatically clapped her hands.
"Look at yourself in the mirror.Plain lies are written all over your face.If you have never loved her, then why the hell did you sleep with her? Had you told me you two are in love, I wouldn't have fought with her for a man like you." Darren fell silent for a moment.
"It was just an accident..."
"Yeah, right! Falling in love with you was a mistake.But I've rectified it.I won't repeat this mistake again.Darren, my life is so much better without you.Only an idiot would treat a cunning woman like Sierra like a princess." Claire scoffed.
Darren frowned.
"Scold me however you want.But Sierra is innocent..."

Darren was smart in every aspect.
However, he was stupid to believe such a woman.
Sierra had saved his life, so he assumed her to be innocent and kind.
However, Claire knew the woman had been pretending to be good in front of him.
Talking to him seemed pointless.
Therefore, Claire turned around to leave.
Just then, a shrill voice of a woman caught her attention.
"Darren!"
Claire's face turned taut with rage when she saw Sierra.
"Go there to be with your Sierra!"
With that, she turned around and stormed off.
Sierra walked to Darren and smiled innocently.
"Darren, who were you talking to?"
"That's none of your business!"
Darren grunted and walked toward the exit.
