Chapter 28 The Most Important Woman In My Life
Silence fell as soon as he finished speaking.
Everyone was surprised to see the two most powerful people in Bysea argue with each other.
People could sense the ferocity of Nathan's words.
Sierra was furious to see the two men fight for Claire.She quickly linked her arm with Darren's and smiled sweetly.
Darren's jaw tightened.
A frown creased his forehead.He subconsciously wanted to withdraw his arm.
But seeing that Claire was holding Nathan's arm and pressing herself against him, he chose to stand still.
"I didn't expect you two would go shopping together." Sierra smiled.
"When I read the news before, I thought Claire's lover was an old gentleman.Perhaps it was a misunderstanding."
She mentioned the news purposefully, hoping Nathan would feel disgusted and appalled to hear it.
After all, anyone would be embarrassed to know their girlfriend was dating someone else at the same time.
However, Nathan's smile broadened.
"Claire is charming.It’s not surprising that she has several admirers." He stroked Claire's hair dotingly.
"She is the most important woman in my life."
Claire smiled at her brother as her heart swelled with emotions.иσνєℓєвσσк.¢σмDarren's face darkened.
"The media always comes up with baseless rumors.They upload some pictures and blow things out of proportion without knowing the whole truth.Only idiots who believe everything to be true would think the news is true."
Sierra's face flushed.She knew he was referring to her.
Sierra became furious, but she couldn't refute it.If she did, then it would mean she accepted she was an idiot.
Therefore, she controlled her anger and forced a smile at him.
"Well, the internet can be a nasty place."
Nathan cast a knowing smile at Darren.
"I'm sure you'd understand this better than anyone else, Mr.Sampson."
He referred to Darren's affair that caused the stock price of the Quantum Group to plummet.
Darren was smart enough to understand what he meant.
"Spreading unwanted rumors and using public opinion as a weapon is a contemptible trick."
"Yes.Those meddlers must be on guard at all times.After all, what goes around comes around.One has to eventually pay the price for their mistakes."

"What do you think, Miss Brooks?"
The smile on Sierra's face vanished.She involuntarily clenched Darren's arm.
Feeling her grip tighten around his arm, Darren turned and looked at Sierra.
Sierra cleared her throat and forced a smile at him.
"Darren, I'm a little tired and hungry.Let's go somewhere to eat."
Claire sneered at Sierra and turned to look at Nathan.She didn't want to pay attention to the shameless couple anymore.
"Let's go.I'm not in the mood to shop."
Nathan nodded and waved at the shop manager.
"Pack ten of the most expensive outfits in your shop.Tearing them would give Claire some relief.Let her do it."
"Okay.We'll be glad to make her happy."
The shop manager bowed respectfully.
Nathan nodded at Darren and left with Claire.
As soon as the two left, Darren immediately withdrew his arm from Sierra's grip.
Sierra whimpered as her heart sank with dejection.
"Claire has changed a lot.Many men are after her now..."
Sierra wanted to accuse Claire of seducing men for money.But Darren interrupted her, "Didn't you say you were hungry? Let's eat before going home."
Darren turned around and stormed out.He couldn't understand why he was so annoyed to see Claire with another man.
