Chapter 7 Divorce Agreement

There were also two unread messages from Darren.

"Where are you?"

"Don't be willful.Come back soon." Claire scoffed.

Had she received the same messages in the past, she would have been ecstatic to know that Darren cared about her.However, she was different now.

Claire couldn't believe Darren thought she was wilful.

Why did he want her to come back? The heartless man wanted her to go to jail for Sierra.

Claire snorted and put her phone away.

Just then, the phone rang again.Seeing the name "Honey" flash on the screen, she hesitated for a moment and answered it.

"Where are you?" His voice bore no emotion as usual.

"It's none of your business!" Claire snapped coldly.

Darren was taken aback for a moment.He was accustomed to Claire being gentle and obedient.

The sudden anger in her voice startled him.

After a moment's silence, he spoke again.

"Don't be so stubborn.I'll wait for you at home.I've asked the cook to prepare all your favorite dishes.Come back soon."

Claire looked at the delicacies on the table and laughed to herself.She took a bite of goose liver and chewed it slowly.

"Qh? How thoughtful of you, Mr.Sampson.Can you tell me what my favorite food is?"

Darren fell silent again.He suddenly realized he had no clue about her preferences.

Claire sneered.

"You don't even know what I like to eat.I used to like Braised Goose Liver in Red Wine.But I've had enough of it.I don't like it anymore.I like Goose Liver with Caviar now."

Claire gritted her teeth in anger.

Darren was like the Braised Goose Liver in Red Wine.She was tired of him now.

Darren looked at his phone and frowned.

For a moment, he wondered if he had dialed the wrong number.He also wondered if Claire was implying something else.

"Claire! What nonsense are you saying?"

Claire took a sip of milk and smiled.

"I'm eating now.If you have nothing else to say, I'll hang up." Darren sighed.

"Where are you? I'll come and pick you up."

"No need! I will send you the divorce agreement later.Don't forget to sign it."

"Are you serious?"

"Haven't I made it clear to you? Look, Darren.Enough is enough! It's time to end everything.Sign the divorce agreement, and let's break up."

Darren was surprised by the sudden change in Claire's attitude.He remained silent for a while before speaking again.

"All right.I'll book a table in Elm Cafe.Let's meet there.I have something to tell you."

"Okay.Let's meet this afternoon; around one," Claire agreed.She wanted to find out what Darren wanted to say.

That afternoon, Clarie arrived at Elm Cafe, wearing sunglasses and a mask.She pulled a chair, sat down, and pushed the divorce papers toward Darren.

"I have made two copies of the agreement.I don't need any alimony.Just sign the papers, and let's get this over with," she said.

Darren pushed the divorce agreement aside and said, "Look, I need to explain something."

"No" Claire interrupted him.

"That's unnecessary.I don't need any explanation.Mr.Sampson, I have made everything clear to you.Time is precious.I hope we don't waste it on each other."

"Sierra and I..."

Claire sprang up to her feet impatiently.

"Mr.Sampson, it looks like you have a lot to explain.But I don't have the time to listen.If you refuse to sign the agreement, we can go to court.But I'm afraid it will affect the stock price and reputation of the Quantum Group.Do you want to complicate everything?"

Claire looked at Darren.

"You gave me a check of five hundred million before.Now you gave me a card with one billion in it.Well, you just want to spend the money in order to feel at ease, right? But I don't need it."

Claire took the divorce agreement and turned to leave.

Darren gripped the black card tightly as his face flushed with embarrassment.

"If you need any help, you can always come to me."

He knew that Claire was divorcing him only to protect her self-esteem and piss him off.He would have felt relieved if she accepted the money.
