Chapter 2: Best Friend

I was shocked from what he said. That's a very rare thing a friend would say to his friend. That isn't

normal, right?

“Daryl! Stop joking! Get out now, it's almost midnight!” I pushed.

He gave me a menacing look, making him look more lighter from his dark expressions. He really know

how to play cards with me, hmm?

“I said kiss me,” he pushed.

I don't know how I really look like but I could imagine myself blushing so much because of this

conversation.

Since I was holding his arms, I forgot it for the mean time because of what he's told me.

He pulled my hands making me fall on his top. Our faces are very close with each other, our nose

almost touching.

“Kiss me.” He whispered in his baritone voice.

It sounded so husky and erotic, and I hate myself for thinking that.

I relaxed myself a bit before I finally tried to get away from that drastic awkward position. “Stop joking!

That's not funny!” Best friends don't kiss! I wanted to add, but didn't.

Instead of letting me go off from his top, he pulled me closer by caging me with his arms. It's too

awkward, my lingerie straps are falling making my boobs press so tight on his chest.

“Uhmm...” he responded then I felt his fingers pinching my nose.

“Aw!”

“What are you thinking, young lady? Kiss me on my cheeks,” he said with a teasing grin.

I gave him an irritated look. Fuck, that's so embarrassing! Did I assumed too much that he's asking me

to kiss him on his lips? Neysha, you're such a feeler.

“Oh..” The only word that escaped on my mouth.

I dropped a kiss on the tip of his nose, then on his cheeks.

“Okay, so you can finally leave now?” I said.

I pulled myself up and immediately fixed my straps.

“See you tomorrow.” He whispered before closing the door out of my room.

I was left standing there for a couple of minutes. I touched the top of my chest and sighed.

I should accept the fact that he can't ever be mine. We are only best friends, best friends relationships

doesn't last long. If they are meant to be lovers, then they should be lovers from the start.

Daryl and I were only friends. I know for a fact that I was the only one who formed this silly emotions

towards him. This fact hurts a lot but, this is part of our lives.

I went back to bed and dropped myself. I look at the side table where I put our picture together. He's

looking so strict holding my waist, not even smiling. I am in my full teeth smile while he's too stiff and

angry.

I smiled. That was my 18th birthday, some of the varsity students wanted to take a picture with me and

he was against it. Since I agreed, he became so stoic till the party was finished.

He's kinda possessive. Possessive of me.

Maybe one of the reason why I'm so fucked up right now. I'm just a girl, just a woman. Who would not

be in love with someone like Daryl? Tell me who she is and I'll kill her.

In morning, I went to school late because of too much meditation. I even skipped breakfast just to catch

up with the first class.

After the whole morning session, I went to the cafeteria alone, I saw Daryl with Cindy, they are eating

together. They were both seniors that's why they have same schedule.

It feels like my heart was stabbed three times from what I am seeing right now. I tried to forget it by

taking deep breaths. I don't have rights to be jealous in any way. He's free to date whoever he wants.

“Hi, Neysha!” I heard a familiar voice.

I looked behind me and saw Jimmy smiling and holding a red rose. He gave it to me with a shy smile, I

smiled a bit before accepting it.

“Thank you,” I said.

He seemed embarrassed because he's blushing.

I unknowingly looked at the students who's teasing us, Jimmy got redder because of the students.

“Woohh, Jimmy likes Neysha for a long long time!”

“Go, Jimmy! Neysha is single!”

I just gave a wry smile from all of them. I was about to turn back to the counter when I sensed Daryl's

dark gazes towards me. When I look at him, our eyes met. He looks angry, his jaws are clenching and

he's not attending Cindy who's continuously talking to him.

I just raised my eyebrows and sniff the rose that Jimmy gave to me while looking at him intently.

In few seconds, I turned my back at him and went to the counter immediately.

I was walking in a silent corridor when someone pulled me hard and pinned me to the wall. Daryl's

eyes were angry and he's breathing fast.

“W-what?” I asked, a bit shock.

He didn't answered. Instead his eyes dropped on my hands, I was gripping the rose there and I know

already what he's angry at.

He harshly grabbed my hand and looked at me for a while before he completely put his all attention on

the rose and dropped it on the floor.

He stepped on it making my eyes wide. What the fuck! What is he doing! That's just rude!

“Daryl! What the fuck are you doing?!”

He pinned me again on the wall, making me look at him directly in his eyes.

“Tell me how many roses you want and I'll give it to you.” He said angrily.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance.

“Fuck you! Someone gave it to me! That's a different thing!”

He clenched his jaws and sighed.

“Stop accepting unnecessary flowers from anyone!” He shouted angrily..

“What's with you?! What's happening? Why are you acting like that?!”

My heart is already beating so loud from this conversation. I am so annoyed, he destroyed my flower!

We stared at each other, both angry. Whatever! If he's angry, for what? I don't want to think that he's

upset because of that specific reason I have in mind because I will assume! I don't want to get hurt

from assuming too much!

“You're just my best friend!” I shouted. novelbin

My tears started to form. Upset from what I said. Damn it.

He didn't answered, he's just looking at me intently.

I removed his hands on my shoulders and tried to get away from him. But I was shocked from the next

thing he did.

He brought me back to my current position and grabbed my head and kissed me.

My eyes widen in shock, my heart is beating so loud and everything that I was holding fell, so as my

heart.
