Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Ever since the encounter with Jay, Ashley has been really distant. Jake has noticed it and so did

Ashley's mother. Katie tried to find out what had happened to Ashely, but her daughter didn't budge and

only replied with, "It was nothing, I just had a nightmare that left me paranoid."

Katie had left Ashley's situation alone as she realized how uncomfortable Ashley was about the

situation. Jake had studied Ashley's attitude as she moved into his room and Ashley never acted this

way.

Both Ashley and Jake were currently chilling in their room. The room was silent with the only thing

being heard was the heart monitor recording their heartbeats. Ashley stared out of the window with a

blank expression as Jake stared up at the ceiling. The silence was killing him as he craved for the

sound of Ashley's voice.

He didn't understand why she was so distant especially in his presence, it bothered him. Jake sighed

heavily breaking Ashley out of her trance but she still didn't face him which frustrated him. Jake turned

his head to stare at Ashley as she felt his strong gaze. "Are you going to continue to pretend that I don't

exist?" He asked in an annoyed tone causing Ashley to shut her eyes.

"What the hell is going on with you, Ashley?" He asked as he began to get impatient but Ashley didn't

budge wishing that he would just leave her alone for his very own good. "Answer me when talking to

you, Ashley," he demanded which caused Ashley to quickly reply out of anger, "Would you just leave

me the f**k alone!" She hissed taking Jake back on her sudden outburst, "The f**k is your problem, why

are you acting like this?" He asked slightly sitting up as she glared at him.

"It's none of your business," she said as Jake's jaw clenched at her rude attitude, "You think I bought

that 'nightmare' bullshit, I'm not stupid, Ashley," he said getting on Ashley last nerve, "Really, because

now you're being f**king stupid, why can't you understand that I'm doing this for you own good, I can't

see you get hurt again, Jake, I just can't!" She said as Jake's hardened expression soften.

"What happened, Ash, talk to me, I thought we understood each other," he said in a gentle tone, "Yeah,

well this is different, Jake," she said avoiding his stares, "Then help me understand, please Ashley, I

hate seeing you like this," he pleaded as Ashley's eyes filled up with tears. She knew Jake wouldn't novelbin

leave this alone, he's too persistent, which was one of the things that she hated about him.

"Three days ago, Jay came to visit me," she said as Jake shot up before groaning as he held onto his

arm, "What the f**k do you mean he came to visit?" He asked in a furious tone as Ashley sighed, "He

pulled a Tatiana special," she said as a chuckled left her lips but that was in no way funny to Jake as

his jaw clenched, "He kissed you?" He asked as Ashley turned towards him while shaking her head.

"No, that's not what I meant, Jake, I asked him how he got into my room and he said that he came to

visit his girlfriend," she said as Jake stared at her in disbelief, "WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH

THIS HOSPITAL?!" He yelled as his arms were thrown up in the air, "Jake, calm down, alright," Ashley

said as Jake gave her a questionable look, "Calm down, Ashley, this asshole snuck into your room

claiming to be someone he's not, god knows what could've happened, he could've hur- wait, did he hurt

you, Ashley?" He asked as Ashley went silent angering Jake.

"I asked if he hurt you, Ashley, tell me now," he demanded in a deadly tone which caused Ashley's

heart to skip in fear, "Shut up, don't speak to me in that tone of voice, you sound just like him," she

quickly said as Jake calmed down a bit, "I'm sorry, Ashley, I just need to know if e hurt you," he said in

a more gentle tone, "He-He," she stuttered while holding onto her neck with tears rolling down her

cheeks.

Jake's blood began to boil as he thought of Jay's filthy hands-on Ashley, "Did he do that to your neck?"

He gritted through his teeth referring to the bruise on her neck as she nods, "Why did he do that to you,

Ash," He asked as Ashley wiped her tears, "He got angry after I told him how I felt about you," she

softly said as Jake raised his eyebrows, "And what did you tell him?" He asked as Ashley quickly

turned on her side, "Nothing," she replied as Jake smiled, "But-

"I'm tired, Jake, please let me be," she said before closing her eyes. The room went back silent as

Ashley wondered what Jake was doing until she heard a groan. She quickly turned around to see if

Jake was already but what she saw made her eyes nearly popped out, "Jake, what the hell are you

doing?" She asked as she watched Jake trying to come off of his bed, "I'm coming to lay with you," he

said attempting to move again, "No, Jake, stay where you are," she said as Jake stopped moving,

"Then come lay with me, I want you close to me," he said as she bit her lip, trying to chew back her

smile, "Jake, I-

"Please, Ash, I need you close to me," he said, and the way he spoke sent shivers down her spine.

Jake spread his arms apart inviting Ashley in as she slowly got up from her bed with a smile on her

face before she snuggled into his arms.

Jake sighed deeply as Ashley slowly drifted off to sleep, "You're right where you belong, in my arms."

Jay was currently at Aunty Jackie's ordering lunch when Tatiana sat in front of him, "Hey, Jay," she

greeted as he nodded causing her to furrow, "What's up your ass?" She asked as Jay scoffed in

annoyance, "I went to visit Ashley yesterday only to be told that she loves that f**ker," he said as

Tatiana stared at him with an amused look, "Really, that's interesting," she said as Jay looked at her

with anger in her eyes.

"What do you mean interesting, Tati?" He asked as Tatiana smirked, "I got a plan, Jay, you get what

you want and I'll get what I want, what do you say?" She asked as Jay watched her skeptically before

smirking, "Alright, Tati, I'm with you."
