Chapter 21

Chapter 21 She’s not my daughter!

Jason walked into his room and he fell on the bed.

"The audacity of her? How dare she try to seduce me?!" He told himself and then he brought out his laptop and started working on it.

Yeah, his daily routines are just to work tirelessly, eat and rest. His life was practically boring. There was no time for clubbing or partying, his life really felt empty. He created a huge wall around him that no one could break until he actually met her.

She was actually trying to break the wall. He never imagined that he would get concerned about someone else, the way he was for her.

"Damn!"

"I give up!" He muttered and then he took his phone. His dad actually gave him her contact today. He never thought he would be in need of it until lately.

He looked at her contact which he saved as "Pretty Bewitcher" and then he scoffed and put the phone down on the bed.

Yeah, he actually calls her pretty bewitcher because he didn't believe how she managed to make him so concerned about her within a week and some days of her staying here. She must have bewitched him! It's a fact!

Jason groaned and looked at his phone. He picked it up and called her immediately without hesitating. The phone rang for some moments and ...

New Zealand.

"Mummy, mummy.." Little Kiera yelled as she walked into her mum's room but her mum was no where to be found in the room.

"Hmph!" Kiera scoffed.

"Where's she again? Has she left without informing me yet again?" She asked herself.

"Let me go ask granny!" She thought and made to walk out when a phone rang out loud and Kiera paused.

"Isn't that mummy's ringtone?" She smiled and then turned back. She saw her mum's phone lying on the bed. novelbin

"Woah! So she's hasn't left yet.." Kiera smiled again and took the phone. The phone kept on ringing.

"The contact of the number is not saved, so it's an unknown number. Let me pick it for mummy.." She said and then answered the call.

"Pretty witch!" Jason's voice came out immediately.

"Why did you take long to answer my calls? I don't like waiting you know that.."Jason said with arrogance in his voice.

Kiera sighed.

"Who are you to call my mummy a pretty witch!"

Jason froze immediately he heard a little's girls voice and the word 'mummy'

"Wait.."

"What?!"

"Who are you? Are you the owner of this phone? Did you steal it?" Jason asked and Kiera gssped.

"You must be mistaken mister. I'm not a thief, you are the one who called my mum a witch. Don't you think I've forgotten about that?"

"But, Elle never had a da..."

Kiera sighed.

"You sound grumpy and rude, Mister. You should learn to smile more. Be happy and make yoye smiles very wide.." Kiera said and unknown to her, unconsciously to Jason. He smiled.

Just hearing what she said melted his heart immensely.

"How do you know I am grumpy?" He asked and Kiera sighed.

"I don't need to mention it to you. I'm sure you are smart to figure it out.."

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Kiera.." She replied with a mummy smile.

"And yours?"

"Jason.."

"Your name is beautiful, Mr grumpy.."

Jason chuckled hearing that.

"And so is yours.."

"You sound very intelligent...."

"Of course I am..." Kiera replied proudly.

"You must have gotten it from your parents.." Jason smiled and sat on the bed. He was strangely enjoying the conversation with the peculiar daughter of Elle.

"I think from my mum but I'm not sure if I also got it from my dad since I don't know anything about my dad.." Kiera said and sighed.

"Are you sad, little girl?" Jason asked. He actually heard her sighing.

"I'm.. " She was about to talk but then she paused when she saw her mum walked in.

"Princess.." Elle smiled looking around and her eyes widened when it landed on her daughter. She was even holding her phone close to her ears.

"Kiera!" Elle yelled and she rushed to her and collected the phone from her.

"Who are you talking to? Why did you answer my calls when I've told you several times not to do that?!" Elle scolded her.

"I'm sorry mum..' Kiera muttered and Elle sighed.

"Do you have any idea on who you are taking to?" Elle further asked.

"He said he's name is Jason and he even called you pretty witch. Do you know him mummy?" Kiera asked and Elle froze to the spot. Being shocked was an understatement.

"Ja.. Jason.." She said and she looked at her phone. The call was still ongoing so that means that he heard all what they said.

Elle took deep breaths and smiled.

"Can you give some minutes. I will like to talk to my friend.."

Kiera nodded and walked away. Elle sighed and brought to the phone to her ears, her heart hammering against her chest.

"Hey.." She smiled like she could see him.

"Why did you call?"

"You don't sound pretty happy to hear my voice.."

"It's like you are hiding something.."

"Of course not! I'm not!" She exclaimed.

"I'm just surprised you called. I wasn't expecting it.."

"And I'm surprised you have a daughter.." He said and Elle forced out a laughter.

"What? A daughter?" She asked.

"Of course not, she's my sister. My mum adopted a young girl though it was not revealed. But I love her like she's my daughter and she calls me "mum'. Isn't anything bad there?" Elle said and Jason sighed.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to judge you. Anyways, I just wanted to know if you were okay. It's fine if you are.."

Elle smiled when she heard that.

"Thanks a lot for your concern.." She replied him and Jason scoffed.

"I'm not concerned about you. I'm just concerned about our partnership. It won't do well if you are ill.."

"Fine.." Elle said still smiling.

"Bye.." And with that he hung up.

Elle heaved a sigh of relief and fell on the bed.

"I can't believe Jason just spoke to his daughter.." She said to herself and then sighed out when she remembered the lie she told him earlier.

"I'm sorry Kiera, you are my daughter and you will always be. I just told that lie to protect you. The both of you has the right to know the truth but not now, I'm really sorry." Elle muttered and then hugged the phone.
