Chapter 24 Double trouble.

"By the way, how's your little sister?" He asked and Elle froze again.

"W.. what?' Elle asked and Jason paused.

"Wny are you acting surprised? Your little sister picked my call the other day, right?" He asked and Elle faked a smile.

"Yeah, she did, why are you asking about her?" Elle asked.

"I just seem to like her. She's fun to take with and for a minute, my heart felt relieved.." Jason said and smiled.

It was the first time in years, she had seen him smile so genuinely.

"That's how she is. She takes after her dad in making people smile??" Elle blurted out, staring at him and he faced her.

"Her dad?"

"I thought you said she was adopted. Did you know her dad before?" He asked and Elle looked away.

"I just.. I just said maybe she took after her dad. She might even take after mum, who knows.." Elle shrugged.

Jason stopped and then turned to her before pulling her by her shoulders, bringing their faces so close.

Both froze by his sudden action. Elle gulped hard.

"W.. what are you doing.." She mumbled and suddenly he laughed. He laughed again and then let go of her, still laughing.

Elle furrowed her brows, wondering what's wrong with him.

"Why are you laughing?" She asked and he stopped.

"If you had seen how you looked, you looked so frightened.." He said and chuckled again and Elle smiled.

"You have a very beautiful smile.." She complimented him and immediately Jason's cheeks grew hot. He looked away immediately.

"What's wrong with me? Why do I act this way when I'm with her? Why am I even with her?" He asked himself anc unknown to them, someone took a picture of them.

"Let's get your ice cream.." He added and then they both walked away.

"What's your relationship with my brother, Tyson?" Jason suddenly asked and Elle scoffed.

"Why do you even think I should answer your question?" She replied him and he sighed.

"I don't poke nose but he's still my brother. I want to know if you have good plans for him.."

Elle scoffed again.

"As far as I'm concerned. Your younger brother is the one pursuing me, not the other way round. You should be asking your brother if he has good plans for me.." Elle shot back.

"You always love arguing to prove your point. There's no need for that.."

"I should always try to defend myself regardless the situation and I'm willing to do so in every area I find myself in.." She told him and he laughed again.

"You are laughing again, I don't think anything I said was funny.." Elle rolled her eyes but Jason said nothing. He started walking away still chuckling.

Elle was so pissed to the core.

She hurriedly went in front of him.

"Do you think what I said was funny. What …"

"Shut up…" Jason said and Elle rolled her eyes.

"Or what?"

"I don't mind kissing you if you don't.." He said and Elle's eyes widened but then she replaced it with a scoff.

"You are not funny, you know.." She was saying when he suddenly grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer to him.

"Now you know I'm not bluffing.." He whispered, his lips almost touching hers.

"I.. you…"

"Do you seriously want me to kiss you, that's why you are talking like this.." He whispered again but Elle quickly pushed him off.

"Never, I would never want to kiss an ugly brat like you!" She snapped at him and walked to the front.

Jason smiled.

"She's cute…" He mumbled and ran after her.

Elle got to the Ice cream vendor and Jason came a second later.

"3 cones of icecream, strawberry flavour.." Jason said and Elle smiled.

"I wants ten cups not cones.." Elle said and Jason sighed.

"You are just like her.." He mumbled.

"Give what she wants.." He told the ice cream vendor.

"Thanks.." Elle winked at him and faced the vendor.

"And you can give him a cup too, but chocolate flavour. He likes that.." She said and Jason looked at her in awe.

"How did you know that?" He asked.

"Chocolate flavour is just for boring people like you.." She shrugged and he sighed while Elle smiled.

She remembered fully well how they usually argue over the best flavours of the ice cream they drank.

"Sir, your girlfriend is really pretty. Take care of her.." The ice cream vendor said passing the ice creams to Elle.

"What?!" They both echoed in unison.

"He's not my boyfriend.."

"She's not my girlfriend..'

They said again and faced each other.

"Wow! That's such a pity. You both look good together. I'm sure if you get married, you will have beautiful daughters and sons.." The ice cream vendor said.

"He already has a beautiful daughter who looks like him and also takes after him.." Elle thought.

"That's never going to happen. I love someone else.." He said and Elle's face dropped.

"Don't tell he's still in love with my former self, Asanel!" She thought but shrugged it off.

'I also have an impending boyfriend.." She smiled and then stopped some of the ice cream into her mouth, Jason did the same also.

Elle took that as a cue to ask him questions.

"So what's the name of your lover? Is she pretty?" Elle asked and Jason looked at her.

"She's very pretty. The most beautiful girl that I ever laid my eyes on.." He said and Elle smiled.

"Even beautiful than me?" Elle said touching her chest and he nodded.

"That's a lie..' Elle said with a smile.

"It can never be. She's prettier than you.."

"That's because you love her.." Elle added and he scoffed

"Whatever, suit yourself.." Jason said.

"What's her name?" He asked and he looked at her again.

"That's none of your business.."

"You sound bittered, did she reject you or what?" She asked him. Jason sighed before replying her.

"Yeah, she did. For her selfish reasons. She rejected me without even thinking twice and I badly want to hate her for that but i can't.." Jason said and Elle looked away trying to hide the hurt in her eyes.

"It might not be a selfish reason but a genuine one, maybe she was not in any room to make a choice then, that's why she had to do so.." Elle said and Jason scoffed.

"That's not it. She made a mockery of my feelings towards her. She thought it was a mistake. I was willing to take responsibility for her but she wouldn't hear of it. She made sure to send me out of the country so that I couldn't even be with her in her last moment. She was such a selfish lover.."

"Very selfish.." He added and then faced her. Elle looked at him with guilt, she stared deeply into his eyes and emotions flashed through them.

She smiled and then pulled him into a hug surprising him.

"She was not selfish. She might be hiding things from you perhaps she didn't want you to get hurt but I'm very sure. I'm sure that she loved you! She loved you really much. Very immensely. So don't question her love for you .."

Jason sighed upon hearing that and he didn't know when he reciprocated the hug, he wrapped his hands around her waist and hugged her more tightly.

His burdened heart yet again began to lessen as he did that. Unawares to them, someone took another picture of them.

Damien sat in the living room, his eyes glued to the phone. Elle told him to go home and that she would call him but she hasn't up till now. His phone beeped and he quickly looked at it.novelbin

It was a photo sent by the bodyguard he sent to keep an eye on Elle. His eyes widened when he saw it. It was a picture of Elle and Jason hugging.

"Gosh!" Damien breathed out angrily.

"She told me she has no feelings left for the guy anymore but what's this?" He asked no one in particular and then he stood up and wore his jacket.

"She seems to have forgotten the rule of our mission and that's no falling in love. I don't care if Jason is Kiera's Dad. I will not hesitate to finish him up if he tries to hinder our mission in any way. I will kill him if I have to.." He told himself anc then buttoned up his jacket.

He took his phone and called Elle but her line was busy.

"Damn it!" He groaned and threw the phone on the couch

"I have no choice than to go to that place and stop whatever affections is growing in both of them. I'll kill it, I swear.." He said and then took his car's keys and then he walked out angrily.
