Chapter 29 THE PARTY

Just then she opened her eyes and her breath hitched when she saw him.

"Ja.. jason.." She mumbled and he smiled.

She gently released her grip on him while he helped her adjust well.

"I.."

"You're here already.." She said and he nodded.

"I don't waste time. Moreover, let's get this over with. I have another meeting to attend to.." He said and she scoffed.

"You always have meetings, don't you have time to rest?" She asked him as they began to walk to the site.

"You won't understand.." He simply said.

Elle nodded.

"I can never understand a boring guy like you.."

Jason paused.

"Whatever you say.."

"How about your sister?" He suddenly asked and Elle's eyes widened.

"Why.. I mean why are you suddenly asking about her?" Elle returned the question.

"No reason. I just felt like hearing her voice again. I like her. She's very smart and outspoken. Her parents should be very lucky to have her.." He said and Elle paused.

When he said that, she felt guilty immediately. Guilty that she was keeping him from his daughter!

Her eyes were starting to get teary. Should she tell Jason the truth? Will he ever forgive her after learning the truth? Will her daughter be safe from the Madison's.

All she wanted was for her daughter to ge safe and also her revenge mission to be successful. She would literally do anything to achieve that.

"I'm sorry Jason. You deserve to know the truth but then I.. "

"Hey, are you okay?" Jason asked and Elle Elle jolted out of her thoughts.

"You seem lost, are you sure, you are okay?" He asked and she smiled.

"Of course.." She nodded.

"How did you even get your sister? She was adopted right? Was it as a baby?" Jason asked curiously and Elle gulped hard.

"Shouldn't we be focusing on our work rather than discuss personal matters.." Elle said with a smile.

"Why do I feel like you are avoiding my questions?" Jason rebutted and Elle's smile faded. She was getting nervous now.

"I. I'm not. I just feel like we shouldn't talk about personal matters when working. Is it bad?' Elle asked.

Jason shrugged.

"You are right but…"

"But I would really love to speak with her again, even just for once. Can you call her.." He paused and sighed.

"Pleaseee.." He added reluctantly and Elle smiled.

"You added please to it, you are getting some manners now.." She said and then patted his hair.

"What are you doing?" He asked as he took her hands down.

Elle stared at him and smiled.

"Sometimed you look cute and at times you just look plain! Boring." She shrugged and continued walking.

"I want to ask a question? If you give me a good answer, I'll let call my sis but if not.."

Jason scoffed and tucked his hands in his pockets.

"What?"

"Do you still love that girl? Your first love?" She asked and he sighed.

"That I cannot answer.."

"Well, then.." She was still taking when her leg hit a stone and yet again, she lost her balance and almost fell but Jason was quick to catch her again.

"And again.." He mumbled.

"Why do I feel like you are doing this on purpose so you can be in my arms?" Jason smirked and Elle's eyes widened.

"Leave me!" She pushed him away and scoffed.

"Why would want to be in your arms? I told you are not my type.."

"But you still find me handsome?' He asked and she paused before she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever! Forget it! I won't let you call my sister!" She snapped at him and walked away leaving him behind and Jason chuckled as he watched her.

"I won this time.." He said.

"I've never won against her in any argument , I'm glad I did this time.." He added and continued watching her.

"By the way why are you wearing heels on site? What if you get injured?" He shouted enough for her to hear.

Elle stopped and turned to face him, glaring at him.

"I would get care and concern from a dog than you!" She yelled and then continued to walk on.

Jason held his stomach and laughed loudly.

"She looks so cute when pissed!' He added and started walking after her.

30 minutes later.

They were both done with the site seeing and were headed back.

I think this place is okay. It's better as a factory, don't you think?" He asked Elle who just nodded.

She folded her lips together and sighed. She was feeling pains in both of her legs and now she actually regretted using heels.

"And where are your other companies based apart from Australia, New Zealand, America and Hong Kong?"

"It's based in the UK also, China, Russia, Egypt and Japan.."

"I'm planning to have one in South Korea and Taiwan soon.." She mumbled tiredly and he faced her.

He noticed the look of distress on her face and then looked at her legs.

"Next time, don't wear heels when going site seeing again.." He said and she rolled hee eyes.

Jason sighed and then did the unexpected. He crouched before her.

"Get on.." He mumbled. She was almost tempted to break into a smile but she held it back.

"Don't worry, I'm fine.." She said and walked to the front.

As she was going, all of a sudeen; she couldn't feel her leg on the ground anymore and then it dawned on her.

"Hey! What are you doing?' She said kicking her legs into the air.

"I told you, you should be honoured when I give you kind gestures, I don't forget for anyone.."

"But I never asked you to do so?" She snapped at him.

"And I don't take no for an answer. You don't refuse me. Got it?!" He said and Elle scoffed.

"Now wrap your hands around my shoulders, if you don't want to fall badly.." He said and Elle reluctantly wrapped her hands around him.

"Thank you.." She whispered and he looked up, their eyes met and and at that time, it was like a slow mo for the them.

Jason took his eyes away.

"It's not free! You have to repay me for it?!" He said and Elle hit his shoulder.

"Hey! That's not fair!"

"Put me down now!" She yelled and Jason chuckled.

"Not happening!"

"I won't repay for anything.." She added.

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Hey!.."

Their voices trailed off. And soon it was night. The time for James Madison's birthday party.

James sat in his room adjusting his tuxedo. The door opened and Lauren walked in, elegantly dressed and looking very beautiful..

"Hun, are you thinking of what happened today?" She asked and he stood up with a sigh.

"I've not been able to get who sent that? Who is the enemy that sent it? I swear I won't spare that person when I get him.." He said and Lauren hugged him.

"Let's forget about it for now. It's your birthday party and the guests are even waiting outside. Guess what? Jason came though he said he would be leaving soon.." Lauren said and James smiled.

"I'm glad he came..' He mumbled.
