Chapter 4 Four

TWO WEEKS LATER.

Asanel groaned and opened her eyes, she stood up and then ran out of her room ti the bathroom and then she vomited all she had been holding back.

"Gosh! What's it?" She muttered and rinsed her face.

It's been happening for three days straight now. She's been feeling so weak, dizzy and nauseous.

Asanel sighed and then walked back into the room. She took her phone and then read the last text Jason sent her. Yeah, Jason flew to the states a week ago. A few days after her dad was buried.

He had asked them to meet up but he refused. She remembered she cried her eyes out that day.

She looked at the message and smiled.

"Whatever we had was just for a short time but I really enjoyed every minute of it. I truly loved you, Asanel.."

Asanel smiled and wiped off the tears that fell off her face.

"I love you too, Jason. I love you very much. But I just can't be with you. Anytime I look at you, I remember my dad's death.." Asanel mumbled and hugged the phone.

"I miss you so much. I miss you.." She said.

She smiled when she remembered how they first met.

FLASHBACK

"Good morning class, a new student is in our midst and her name is Asanel, let's welcome her.." The teacher introduced her.

Asanel smiled and then bowed her head gently.

"Hello everyone, I'm Asanel and I hope we get along well

" Asanel said with a bright smile and everyone applauded her. Asanel looked up and her eyes met with a young handsome guy who was staring at her with a cold look on his face.

She scoffed.

"Your seat is beside Jason's.." The teacher said with a smile.

"She's not going to be sitting with me! I don't seat with anyone!" Jason's voice came.

"But.."

Asanel rolled her eyes immediately.

"Don't worry ma'am.." Asanel said and walked towards him. She glared at him before pulling the empty chair beside him and she dropped her bag there.

"I'm sitting here.." She told him and his eyes widened in surprise. The class gasped and everyone started murmuring amongst themselves.

"She's really crazy.."

"For the first time, someone stood against Jason.."

"Does she have no idea on who he is?"

"What do you think you are doing?" Jason grunted in a low voice and Asanel shrugged.

She faced him with a smile.

"Sitting.." She replied.

FLASHBACK ENDS.

Asanel smiled. They had always been fighting but then a day came, when they were alone in the computer lab. They spoke to each other for the first time without arguing and from that day, she became his only friend.

"I really miss him.." She muttered again and smiled again.

"Snap out of it Asanel! He's gone.." She told herself and then sighed.

She took her phone and then dalied her mum's number but it went to straight to voicemail.

This was the fifth time now.

After her dad's death, Matilda changed. All that she wanted to do was avenge her husband's death. Sometimes, she rarely comes home. But when she does, she does all she could for her daughter.

Asanel sighed and then walked to the living room. She was really tired. Then she fell to the couch, picked up the remote and turned the tv on.

Asanel sat up immediately when she saw the headline.

"REPORTER MATILDA ANDERSON UNDER THE ROCKS AS SHE IS CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLEMENT OF THE FUNDS OF THE NATIONAL REPORTING OFFICE"

Asanel's eyes widened immediately she saw that.

"No, that's not true. I don't believe that. I don't!" She yelled at no one in particular.

She picked up her phone and dalied her mum's number again but it went straight to voicemail.

"Mum, where are you?" She asked no one in particular.

"Anel." The familiar voice called out to her and she turned back immediately.

"Mum!" She called immediately she recognised the voice.

Matilda stood a few inches away from her, her hair was scattered all over her face and her face was bruised.

"Mum, what happened to you?" Asanel ran to her immediately and Matilda hugged her.

"Ba

"Mum, what was that about? The embezzlement case, I know it's a lie. I know that they are behind it. The governor and his wife.." Asanel said in tears and Matilda smiled.

"Baby, forget about it, hmmm.. "

"But mum.." Asanel's statement was interrupted when she fainted in her mum's arms.

"Anel! Anel!" Matilda yelled in panic.

Few minutes later.

Asanel groaned and opened her eyes. Her eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings and she sat up. It was then it dawned on her that she was in the hospital.

"Mum.." She called and looked over to her side. Her mum was just staring at her with a blank expression.

"Mum, what happened?" She asked curiously.

"You are pregnant, Anel.." Matilda dropped the bombshell and Asanel's eyes widened.

"What? No, I'm not. I can't be.." She immediately protested.

"That's not the issue here, you are pregnant Anel. Who's thr father?" Matilda snapped at her and tears fell from Asanel's eyes when she remembered that day.

"Mum.." She sobbed.

"I asked who's the father?!" Matilda yelled.

"It's Jason.." Asanel's said and Matilda's eyes widened.

"Jason.." She called.

"Which Jason? What Jason are you talking about?" Matilda asked calmly.

"It's Jason Madison..."

Immediately Matilda slapped her hard and Asanel busted into tears.

"How could you? How could you get pregnant for our enemy's son. Why did you do it Anel? Didn't I train you well? Where did I go wrong Asanel Anderson?!" Matilda yelled in anger.

"Mum, it was a mistake. I regretted everything but it was too late. The deed had already been done. I was really disappointed in myself mum. I'm still sixteen and I did this. I'm sorry.." Asanel cried bitterly.

"Jason left for the states right?" Matilda asked and Asanel nodded.

"That bastard.." She muttered.

"Mum, I'm sorry.." Asanel cried and Matilda sighed.

"It's my fault also. I've not been the best mum, I neglected you for my work and I'm sorry for that. As you said, the deed has already been done. Let's forget about that now. Let's raise your baby together.hmn.." Matilda said and Asanel smiled tearfully.

"Thank you so much mum. I love you.." Asanel said and hugged her while Matilda caressee her hair.

"I love you too.." She smiled and they broke the hug.

"We will leave the city first thing tomorrow. We can bear to endanger your child's life. When you've successfully given birth to your baby, I'll come back to avenge your dad's death.." Matilda said and Asanel nodded.

"Thank you mum.." Matilda smiled and kissed her forehead.

Night.

"I'll sleep beside you tonight baby, incase you need anything.." Matilda said and Asanel nodded.

"I love you mum, I love you very much.." Asanel said and Matilda smiled.

"I love you too princess . Very much, I'll protect you. What I couldn't do for your dad.." Matilda said.

"Thank you mum.." Asanel smiled.

"Come on, let's sleep. It's not good for you to sleep late.."Matilda said and they both chuckled and then lay to sleep.

Meanwhile as the mother and daughter were sleeping. They had no idea what was happening outside. A man dressed in black stood outside the gate. He smirked and then climbed the fence.

"Who's there?" He heard a guard ask but before the guard could turn back. He hit him at the back of his neck and he then fell unconscious.

When he was sure the coast was clear, he looked around and then began his work. He brought out two kegs of diesel and then poured it around the house. Then he took a match stick and then lit it, then he dropped it on the ground and it instantly caught flames immediately.

He smirked and then climbed the fence down, then he walked away to his car. When he got to his car. novelbin

He took his phone and then called the number. The person picked up almost Immediately.

"Madam Lauren, it's done..." He smirked.
