Chapter 15

Amelia's POV novelbin

Everyone stood frozen in their spot. Anyone in the room could feel the tension. I looked at Xavier to see

that his posture was rigid and tensed.

There was anticipating to see what was going to happen. His mum slowly turned towards him. She was

on the verge of crying.

"Xavier." she said as her lips trembled. The moment she said that, Xavier's posture become soft

immediately. His eyes became wide.

"It can't be." he said disbelievingly. "Mum?" he asked questioningly. She nodded her head as she

walked towards him. She stood right in front of him.

"I am so sorry for abandoning you son. For abandoning all of you." she said looking at everyone. There

was a smile on everyone face. I couldn't contain my own smile.

"But hereafter, I am going to be here for all of you. I promise." she said looking at Xavier. To everyone

surprise, Xavier hugged his mum, pulling her close to him.

He looked like a child, who just found his mum after being lost for so long. Everyone started leaving,

wanting to give the mother and son, their moment.

I watched them as I left. I have never seen him show this much emotion from my time here. It warmed

my heart and made me so happy.

I gave them one last glance and left. I went to the backyard to be with the kids. The kids were waiting

for me, and the moment they saw me they started squealing asking me to play with them.

I spent the afternoon with the kids, playing and helping them plant. Soon kids became tired and we

went back inside.

Their mothers thanked me for keeping the children entertained. I went back to my room to clean

myself. As I was walking in the hallways, I saw Xavier's mum. She came towards me smiling.

"How are you dear?" she asked me sweetly. " I am good." I said back. "Thank you so much dear." she

said honestly. "For what?"

"For making me understand what I had missed." I just smiled at her to that. "Can I ask you something

dear?" I nodded my head.

We were walking towards my room, when she asked me the question. "Why are you and Xavier,

distant?" I froze when she asked me that.

"What? No." I tried to lie. But she saw through my lie. She gave me a pointed look. I sighed. "Its

complicated." I said not wanting talk about it.

"Is he bad to you?" she asked worried. My eyes went wide. "What? goddess no!" I said immediately.

"He is a good man, Luna." I said smiling assuring her.

She smiled proudly. "I know you guys will figure things out. And please, its Karen." she said to me. I

smiled at her. After some time she left and I went to freshen up.

I went to the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. I wasn't in the mood to eat. The maids insisted they

would do it. But I convinced them I could do it.

I was chit chatting with the maids while doing my sandwich. They were quite funny as we laughed and

made jokes. At first they were closed off. But after some time we laughed and talked.

After having my sandwich, I went to the library and took a book to read. As I was reading the book, I

dozed off.

I woke up few hours later, and saw it was 1am. I stretched and went to put back my book. As I was

walking towards the exit of the library, I smelt Xavier's scent.

I looked around the library and saw him standing, facing the window. I was shocked to see him here.

Did he know I was here? Did he come here out of coincidence?

Not wanting to disturb him, I slowly walked away, when I heard his voice, "I know it was you." he said

suddenly startling me.

I froze in my spot. I didn't understand what he meant. "W-What do you mean?" I asked him confused.

He slowly turn towards me.

"My mother, it was you. You went to talk to her." he stated. I didn't know what to say. I just stood there

not saying anything.

He took slow steps towards me. "Why?" I looked at him confused. He took in a deep breathe. "Why did

you went to talk to her?"

I just stood there not knowing what to say. Honestly speaking, I didn't know myself. I didn't know why I

went to see her. Why I talked to her.

What I do know is, I wanted him to be happy. Because... I love him.

I love him. Oh my goddess I love him. I just realised that. I gather up my courage. "Because I love you."

I whispered. I knew he heard me.

I hear him give a humourless laugh. "You? Love me?" he continued to laugh. It wasn't a laugh of

hilarious. It was a sick laugh. His humourless laugh made me cringe.

"Look at you. Weak and pathetic human. How could you even think I would like, as much as to love

you." he mocked me.

His words was piercing my heart like needle. He suddenly stopped laughing and grabbed my face

roughly. He was holding my face tightly, that it hurt.

"I HATE you. You understand little one? I HATE YOU." He screamed at the last part. He roughly let go

of my face.

I stood there tears spilling. I couldn't control my tears. They were flowing like never before. I have never

felt hurt like this before. It was like someone was ripping my heart apart.

He was ripping my heart in pieces. I couldn't handle the hurt anymore. I ran from there. I ran and ran. I

ran away from him. From the library. From the palace. I ran till I was in the woods.

I knew I had crossed the territory line. But I didn't care. I screamed in pain. The pain in my heart. But

the pain only increased.

"He hates me" I whispered to myself. I cannot believe what was happening. I thought we had a chance.

But after hearing him say those words, I lost all hope.

I was crying hysterically, that I didn't realise I had company. Suddenly a bright red light was coming

towards me. Due to my quick reflex, I dodged it.

Witches. That's not possible. They were dead. Slowly few witches came from the dark. They

surrounded me in circle.

I didn't know what to do. They started reciting some spell. I started to become weak and my eyes

started to become droopy.

I faster mind linked Nathan. 'Witches.' and soon I was engulfed into darkness.

I groaned and woke up with a massive headache. I tried to adjust to the light and when I finally did, I

gasped in shock.

I was in a room I couldn't recognise. It was dark and dirty with only one light bulb. There was a table at

the side. I was tied to a chair, rather tightly, in chains.

I tried to wiggle out, but it was no use. I tried use the method that Noah taught but it was still no use. I

wish I had something sharp right now.

Just then a door open and witches I remember who kidnapped me started to come. I was shocked to

know they are still alive. "How are y'all still alive?"

One of the witches gave me a sinister laugh. "That is not what you should be asking." she said walking

nearer to me. She gave me slap across my face.

I growled at her. "You guys are sick." I said to her angrily. "We are sick? What about your mate? He's

the sick bastard." she tormented me.

"Never, and I mean NEVER, speak about him like that." I growled. She gave me her another infamous

laugh.

"I seriously don't understand. He hurts you. Resents you. Yet you care for him so much. How is that

possible?" she asked me questioningly.

"How could you understand? I love him. And it doesn't matter how he treats me." I said to her proudly.

She just chuckled. "Well whatever it is, we are going to have so much fun with you."

And it began. I felt painful jolt of electricity pass through me. I made sure not to scream. I will not give in

to them. I didn't care what they did to me.

One whole day. It has been one day since they started and has been going on non stop. Its night time,

the next day. And they still continued, taking turns.

"This one is strong." the witch that was torturing me said. "Bite me." I snarled out. She just laughed. "I

don't bite sweetheart." she said putting the dagger away.

Another witch clapped her hands and stood up from her chair. "Maybe we should increase the

intensity."

I looked at her confused. She took the electricity machine and put it in maximum. My eyes went wide.

But I covered it, not wanting to show her.

"I told you, we were going to have so much fun." she said as she placed the machine at my neck. I let

out ear piercing scream.

I couldn't bear the pain anymore. I fell into the darkness.
