Lenny and Scarlett

Chapter 4

For another hour, Scarlet had been unconscious. When she woke up and recalled everything before

she blacked out, she started panicking again.

She stroked her belly as mixed feelings plagued her heart.

She was pregnant. She was carrying Lenny's baby. But they just divorced a few hours ago.

For the entire day, Scarlet suffered an emotional roller coaster.

Should she tell Lenny that she was pregnant? After all, he was the father of the baby. Even if she

decided to get an abortion, she still had to tell him.

She was still attending school. It would be impossible for her to have this child and then go on with her

life.

She hesitated for a while before finally deciding to leave the hospital and go talk to Lenny.

As soon as Scarlet left, someone walked into her ward and grabbed the nurse who was tidying up the

sheets.

"What happened to the patient here?"

"And you are..."

"I'm her sister."

The nurse saw that the two women somewhat looked similar, so she figured that the strange newcomer

was telling the truth. She explained what happened to Scarlet.

"She got heatstroke. She's fine. As her family, you should take good care of her. She's pregnant. She

has safely passed the first trimester of her pregnancy, but she still has to be careful."

"She's pregnant?" Colleen Brown frowned and said, "I see. Thank you."

The Brown family had already gotten wind of Scarlet and Lenny's divorce. They also found out about

the huge sum of money that Scarlet got in the divorce settlement.

They were thinking about how to get the money, but Colleen didn't expect to run into the surprising

news of Scarlet's pregnancy.

Scarlet and Lenny hadn't seen each other for a whole year. How could Lenny get Scarlet pregnant?

Was it possible that Scarlet was pregnant with another man's child?

If that was true and Lenny found out about it, then he would definitely make Scarlet return the

compensation that he gave her. And then, maybe he would vent his anger on the Brown family.

"No. I have to find Scarlet and take her home as soon as possible," she muttered.

Colleen made a prompt decision and set out to sear

ch for Scarlet.

Scarlet returned to Lenny's villa, but she wasn't sure whether she could still just go in or not. She paced

back and forth at the front door for a long time.

To her surprise, she saw Lenny's car coming to a halt at the gate of the villa. She didn't expect that he

would be home so soon.

He was obviously surprised to see her again.

But he wasn't the only one who got out of the car. A petite girl stepped out after he did. She was about

the same height as Scarlet, and she looked like a meek girl.

The girl looked at Scarlet and then tugged at Lenny's clothes. novelbin

"Lenny... Who is she?"

"My ex-wife," he replied bluntly. "You go on in, and I'll find out why she's here."

"Okay, then. I'll wait for you inside."

The girl smiled and followed Lenny's assistant into the villa.

Scarlet looked at the girl in a daze. She had never seen her before. Was she the girl that now held

Lenny's heart?

"Is she..." Scarlet started.

"Scarlet, my business has nothing to do with you."

His words echoed in her mind. They were like knives to her heart.

At that moment, Scarlet suddenly felt like she was far away from Lenny. They were only standing a few

steps apart, but it felt like there was a deep ravine separating them.

Suddenly, she felt ridiculous for showing up and wanting to tell her ex-husband about their child.

Would he care?

Were they that close to each other?

She could make the decision herself.

Scarlet clenched her fists and forced a smile.

"I'm sorry for trying to ask about your personal affairs, Mr. Foster. I came here because I left something

of mine in the villa. It's not that important. If you find it, you can just throw it away."

After saying that, she straightened her spine and left without looking back.

Looking at Scarlet's receding figure, Lenny felt his heart skip a beat, and he didn't know why.

She was so thin that he wanted to hold her in his arms and take good care of her.

He gnashed his teeth together and wondered why such an idea occurred to him out of the blue.

Maybe it was because Scarlet looked very much like that girl from that night.
