The next day, Clara woke up and nervously went downstairs, only to find that Ethan was not there. The
driver, Donny, however, was there.
“Good morning, Ms. Rowan.” Donny greeted Clara, “My boss told me to take you out to buy some
clothes before he left.”
“Okay.” Clara puzzled, nodded.
Since he was not interested in her body, why was he still so good to her?
After breakfast, Donny took Clara to the largest shopping center in the city.
He asked Clara to look around while he looked for a parking space.
Still thinking about her grandmother’s death, Clara walked around the mall in a trance.
“Miss, these are the latest models. You can try them on.” The abrupt voice brought Clara Rowan back
to her senses.
She found that she had unknowingly entered a luxury clothing store and was standing next to the
shelves.
Clara remembered that she was buying clothes. She had just pulled herself together and had intended
to take a snow-white silk skirt from the shelf when a hand came in grabbing it first.
The woman who took it didn’t seem to feel that she had grabbed it from her, and even handed it over to
the person next to her like she was presenting a treasure.
“Ruby, look at this, it suits you so well!”
Clara looked up sharply and saw several women picking out clothes next to her.
Surrounded by two women, Ruby Leke was wearing D’s newest skirt and holding a blue Hermes in her
hand. She looked extravagant.
“Yes, this one’s not bad......”
Ruby Leke was praising the clothes her friend had picked out when she felt someone staring at her.
She turned her head and saw Clara standing not far away.
Clara’s face was very pale. She didn’t seem to be doing very well.
Ever since Clara had been released from the police station, Ruby had secretly investigated the man
who had come, and she had found out that he was a someone’s personal chauffeur.
She didn’t expect that chauffeur to be quite so capable, or to have enough money to let Clara shop at a
luxury store...
Thinking of Clara who had willingly stooped to such depravity, Ruby was extremely happy. She smiled
and walked up. “What a coincidence to meet you here.”
Clara stared at Ruby with hate, her nails digging into her palms.
She couldn’t wait to kill Ruby!
But now she had nothing. She had been rejected mercilessly by the man last night. She didn’t have the
ability to fight Ruby.
With that in mind, Clara’s expression darkened, and she turned around to leave.
But Ruby seeing her in such a crisis, blocked her and did not let her go.
“Clara, I know that you were incredibly sad when your grandmother died. This card has a hundred
thousand dollars. I’ll consider you my classmate and give it to you as a stipend.” She took out a card
and gave it to Clara.
“You can use it yourself!” Clara waved her hand away.
“Clara” Ruby’s friend crooned. “Ruby gave you money because she was afraid that you wouldn’t have
the money to eat. How can you respond to her so rudely?”
“Everyone knows that you went to a hotel room with a wild man. Which company do you think would
dare hire you?”
“She doesn’t need to work at any company. With such a beautiful face, she can get rich just by just
spreading her legs at any random club.”
“Haha, you’re wicked. “
Ruby curled her lips and let her two friends taunt Clara.
She used to stand next to Clara like a supporting character, watching her being admired and envying
her family, her everything...
But now, their positions had swapped!
Ruby pushed the card towards Clara again and said in a gentle voice, “Don’t be proud Clara, take the
card. Your grandmother and parents wouldn’t have wanted to see you fallen so low.”
Clara had been holding herself back the entire time.
However, Ruby Leke’s blatant arrogance, and the insults to her family were more than she could take.
She grabbed Ruby’s collar and slapped both sides of her face.
One slap after another, slapping as hard as she could.
Ruby face was burning with pain. She wanted to push Clara away, but Clara grabbed her hand and novelbin
slapped even harder.
“Clara Rowan, what are you doing?” The two friends rushed in to help Ruby.
Clara gave them a cold look, frightening them so much that they felt like their feet were nailed to the
ground unable to move.
This woman is so scary!
“Even though I have nothing, I’ll always be a Rowan! “ Clara said while slapping Ruby. “As long as I’m
alive, I will eventually be able to revitalize the Rowan family. And you... covering yourself with brand
names can’t cover the pungent smell you brought with you from the countryside! “
The commotion caused so much noise that it quickly attracted the attention of passersby.
Ruby’s cheeks were being slapped red and swollen by Clara in front of everyone, but no matter how
she tried she couldn’t push her away.
Clara only stopped after three full minutes. Staring coldly at Ruby she said, “Ruby, you are the one who
should be afraid. My grandmother’s life I will eventually require of you!”
The hatred in Clara’s eyes made Ruby shiver, and her eyes showed traces of fear.
Impossible!
With Clara’s family gone, how was she going to turn the situation around?
Realizing that, Ruby wasn’t afraid anymore. She raised her hand to slap Clara back, but a hand
grabbed her from the side. It pinched her wrist and twisted it viciously.
“Ah!” Ruby Leke fell to the ground and couldn’t help but scream in pain.
