Chapter 3 Meeting Troy Callahan
The next morning, Vivian woke up with a puffy eyes. She was tired from crying the whole night that her
pillow has tear stains already. She watched her sister, Violet ran away with a man. Not just any man but
their gardener's son.
Vivian is certain that her father would never agree with her sister's decision. Their father will tell all his
connection to find her sister and drag her back in their house.
''Darling come join us!'' Her father called her when she got down. They were already having breakfast.
''How was the party last night, was it fun?'' Her father asked.
She was shocked and turned to him. ''How did you know about the party, Daddy?''
''I saw you sneak out last night, Princess and I ought to tell you to have fun.'' Her father explained. ''You
were grounded last night but whatever, enjoy your life.''
Her father always favored her more than her sister. He would give her money and jewelries and
expensive trips. Even without her asking her father for anything, he just likes to spoil her.
Vivian looked at her mother who was silently eating beside her.
''Now where is your sister? Troy Callahan will be here any moment.'' Her father asked.
Now that confirms her suspicions. Her father never wanted to marry her off but it was her mother's sole
decision all along. Her mother's favorite child was Violet and rather than seeing her favorite suffer, her
mother instead decided to have her replace Violet and continue on with the wedding.
Vivian looked at her mother's direction and she saw guilt in her eyes. A sharp pain pierced her heart.
How can her mother sacrificed her?
She has been played really well.
Angry, she turned to her father. ''Daddy, Violet will not be marrying Troy Callahan. I will be the one
replacing her.'' She told her father.
''And why is that?''
''Violet doesn't love Troy Callahan.''
Her father's eyes softened as he looked at her. ''And do you love him my daughter?'' He asked.
Vivian gave her father a sad smile before gently nodding. ''I will try, father. For the sake of our
company.''
A proud smile appeared on her father's lips. He praised her for all her sacrifices for the growth of their
business. She couldn't back out anymore. Vivian already made her decision and it was to save her
sister.
Although she felt that her mother betrayed her, Vivian knows that she still loves her.
''Sir Carter, Mr. Callahan has arrived.'' Their butler announced and soon a tall man entered the room.
He was wearing a gray three piece suit.
Vivian almost choked on her bread when she saw that the man was almost the same age as her father!
The man already has gray hair that you took notice at first glance. He has lines all over his face.
No wonder Violet ranaway. Who would want to be tied down to a man this age!
Vivian looked at her father who stood up fast and greet the old man. Her father shook his hand and
they exchanged pleasantries.
''Vivian come here, darling.'' Her father called unto her.
She was reluctant at first. Her feet wouldn't start moving, not until the old man glanced into her
direction which made her jump a little in shock. Vivian quickly went beside her father.
''Vivian, I want you to meet Mr. Eric Callahan.'' Her father announces. Vivian's forehead knotted in
confusion. ''He is the father of Troy Callahan.'' Her father added.
Relief flood allover her when she heard that the old man wasn't the one she was going to marry but
rather his son.
Vivian took the old man's hand and gently shook it. ''It's nice to meet you, Sir.'' Vivian said and it was
the truth. The old man has a very mellow and relax vibe around him. Unlike her father's stern aura. novelbin
''What a beauty,'' Mr. Eric complimented her, Vivian felt her cheeks flushed. ''My son is very lucky.''
As if on cue, a dashing young man entered the room. He was tall and also wearing a black three piece
suit and his hair neatly comb. Unlike the older man's peaceful aura, the young man who had just
entered has this cold and unapproachable aura with him. He was like a cold-hearted villain that she
sometimes watch on dramas.
The young man's eyes were like that of ice, it was black and hollow. There were no sign of life in them.
What made the young man stand out even more is his perfect jawline. And those pair of lips, it was
light pink and seemed so soft. Vivian suddenly felt the urge to ravish it and taste if they were really
sweet.
''Vivian dear,'' Mr. Eric Callahan called her attention, ''I want you to meet my son, the heir to Callahan
Empire and your soon to be husband. Troy Callahan.'' Mr. Eric introduced his son with such pride.
Vivian held out her arm and waited for Alexander to take it. ''It's nice to meet you, Troy. I am Vivian
Desiree Carter, your soon to be wife.'' She introduced herself.
But Vivian's hand gone tired as Troy just stared at it and did not have the audacity to shake it.
Alexander just looked at her coldly and did not say a word.
Vivian puts down her hand and shot daggers at Troy. She was angry as the dashing mad did it on
purpose, he humiliated her in front of her parents. Vivian will not let it slide. She can tell instantly that
the young man was also trapped in that loveless marriage just like her. She was willing to play it nice
but that jerk stepped into her ego, and she won't let it pass.
It's now personal. Even though she is tied down to that marriage. She will have so much. Starting with
making hell out of her future husband's life.
