Charlie walked over and sat next to her, watching in silence. He recalled that she had always helped the kids cut their nails before they divorced. But at that time, he considered her a stepmother of his kids and never thought that she did give birth to Leonard and Ben.

Leonard then ran over with a grin.
She demanded, “Did you give those things to Uncle Dick?”

Ben had no interest in their chat, just looking at Charlie with a complex expression. He wanted to talk about something with him but still hesitated, remembering how Charlie hurt Theresa.
At the glance of Ben’s intense gaze, Charlie gave him a comforting smile. “Ben, come here. Let Daddy hug you.”
