Chapter 1 A Scaring Man
“Hurt?”
“No…”
“How about here?”
“No…”
“And here?”
“Oh…Yes, it’s here!”
In the emergency room, a man was yelling out, while another woman said quietly, “Acute appendicitis.
Prepare for a surgeon now!”
The nurse took the patient out of the room soon. The woman doctor Riley Watson with a poker face
took off her medical gloves and threw them to the trash bin, then started to quickly write the medical
report.
Just finishing the report, she heard some nurses outside the room talking about something in lower
voice.
“Dr. Watson is definitely the best doctor in our general medicine clinic. Just now she did very well to the
patient!”
“Of course. She is excellent, but unfortunately she has not been married now.” novelbin
“Sure. Who can marry such a top woman?”
As they were leaving, Riley put her hand in the pocket of her uniform unconsciously and touched the
valuable wedding ring with the fingertip.
Unfortunately?
Not married until now?
Nobody could marry her?
People may feel unhappy when hear all these sharp words. However, Riley had been married for three
years; she did not care about such gossip anymore.
She felt it was ironic that she had only met her so-called husband several times during the past three
years. To Riley, he was just a stranger.
How much did he hate her?
Riley stopped thinking and got a document holder to visit the patients.
There was full of sterilizer’s smell on the corridor; Riley stepped on the floor with the sound of her high
heels. She still looked too charming even in the doctor’s uniform.
As soon as Riley was in the corner, she heard someone talking, “Just the moment, I saw the director
rush to the emergency room for an important patient. My goodness, how important is the patient? The
director has to do by himself.”
“Who knows? More high-level government officers as well as rich men live in JD City. Everyone can be
sick.”
“But you know, how many of them can ask the director to treat by himself?”
They mumbled; obviously the answer was nobody can make it.
A faint sneer crossed her face and then she looked straight and walked forward. The talking nurses
heard someone walking to them and stopped the talk.
They said hello to Riley but she didn’t stop. She was remarkably serious and arrogant as usual. As a
common doctor, Riley still attracted others’ eyes for her being like that.
After visiting the patients, Riley went to the restroom. She stood in front of a washing basin and put the
holder on a wooden shelf to wash hands.
Iris Anderson, from the same clinic with Riley, asked with great care, “Dr. Watson, how are you? You
look tired.”
Looking tired?
Riley answered carelessly, “Fine. I am really a little bit tired.”
“Love yourself more when you are single…Oh, I mean, you are happy to be single, but to be healthy is
the priority.”
The annoying topic arose. Riley did not say more; Iris was embarrassed and left.
Riley saw her good-looking face in the mirror and started to think that if the nurses’ gossip really made
her feel unhappy.
The chilly water flew along her hand caused her to have a frown.
Or, it might be some sadness.
Don’t be silly. How did she think about him?
After the incident, Riley had warned herself that she would not love him anymore in all her life!
Even if she had ever love him so deeply!
Even if she had ever loved him so crazily!
Her fingers touched the ring one more time. The portable ATM always with her was just for urgent meet
between her husband and her. If the man came to meet her without prior notice, it was better for her to
wear the ring on her finger.
Right now, a nurse called Riley in a rush, with much sweat on her forehead. This was an urgent case
for sure. The nurse said, “Dr. Watson, you are here. Please follow me. The director asked you to give
him a favor.”
“Ok!” Riley said calmly and got the holder to run to the emergency room.
When getting there, she also started to feel nervous atmosphere. Riley did not know who was so
important to make the famous director pay great attention.
Riley walked to the man lying on the bed and got extremely astonished. She was unable to move, just
watching the weak and handsome man. She was trembling with scary in the mind.
The man with dark skin had much sweat now; he looked serious and arrogant without saying anything.
Nobody dare to talk with him.
It was him!
The director shouted at Riley, “Riley, what are you doing? His stomach is bleeding. We have to save
him now!”
Riley was reminded by the shouting. The disease itself was not serious enough to request the director
to do the treatment; it was the important patient whom the director had to treat by himself.
He was undoubtedly the one who deserved the director’s attention.
Who was he?
He was Euan George, the CEO of George Group of JD City; he had a dominant effect on the share
market.
With the huge George Group, Euan was a top wealthy man in business. He owned a club as big as all
along a street and dozens of companies covering real estate, jewelry, social media, clothing and
electronics. He might not know clearly the accurate value of all these businesses.
Finally, he had been Riley’s husband for three years, but nobody got to know about it.
Riley remembered Euan had never got sickness since she knew him. Just that moment in this room, he
looked so terrible for the sickness. As soon as he was turning to look at Riley, Riley knew he was totally
unhappy.
Euan was sick, but still trying to scare her with eye contact.
He was the same aggressive as usual!
Stomach bleeding was not so serious; the director was greatly professional to save Euan soon.
Riley walked out of the emergency room with absent mind and sat on the long chair. She had fast
heartbeat.
She did not believe she was still mentally disturbed by him.
She did not believe she still cared about him.
She believed she should be indifferent to him.
However, Riley was worried about him just for his stomach bleeding from having much alcohol. She
also felt disappointed with his unconcerned look.
With the gloves off, Riley got the ring out of the pocket; this was the only ring in the world with a high-
class customized diamond originated from South Africa. Three years ago, she wore the brilliant ring in
the luxurious wedding held by a bay; Out of her expectation, the wedding as well as Euan’s vow to her
was merely a part of a game.
Silly!
Even suffering a lot in mind now, Riley would never be as heartbroken as she got three years ago. She
put the ring back and controlled emotions, then standing up with hands on her knees.
Back to the outpatient, Riley started to review medical reports. After a while, someone was knocking at
the door.
The director was here.
Riley rushed to stand up to welcome him and smiled. She hated to flatter anybody, but sincerely
respected the director in her mind. She said, “Hi, Director.”
The director was a middle-age man and looked very nice. He also smiled and said, “I really appreciate
your help just now.”
Riley was some of surprised about his words. She thought that was definitely her job.
But before Riley talking more, the director continued, “But could you please take more jobs in the
coming days?”
The jobs the director mentioned were to be the private doctor of Euan to take good care of him these
days. She had to ensure Euan was absolutely safe and happy in the hospital.
The director knew nothing about what happened to Euan and Riley before. He just thought Riley was
lovely and beautiful who was the right person to help the picky boss.
Riley did not think so; she was reluctant to get such tough jobs.
Riley kept biting her lips and stood there.
She hesitated, unsure of what to say when meeting Euan.
Pretending to meet him for the first time?
Or talking with him as his wife?
Just coming out of the lift, Riley saw many people in front of her.
There were a crowd of reporters holding microphones and cameras on the corridor.
Some reporters asked, “Miss Saunders, some source said you are Mr. Euan George’s girlfriend. Today
you come to take care of him; so, will you let the public know your relationship?”
“Miss Saunders, we all reported you and Mr. Euan George a perfect couple! So, both of you also
consider each other to be a perfect partner in a marriage?”
“Miss Saunders, you are the most popular star now. Would you like to leave your jobs and just be the
wife of Mr. Euan George?”
Hearing the questions, Riley stopped and her whole body under the uniform tautened violently.
Lydia Saunders said, “If we are married, I would like to stop all my jobs and be a good housewife for
Euan. I will devote all myself to follow him, care about him and love him.”
Lydia answered these questions in a super soft voice.
She was in a sexy dress today, the wavy long hair of maroon color down to her naked radiant white
back. Riley knew the beauty with snow white arms and charming red lips very well.
Lydia Saunders, whose father was the CEO of Saunders Group, was a super star now. Her photos
occupied the bus bodies and screens on streets; she was greatly admired and followed by a large
number of young men in the country.
The reporters continued to ask, “Wow! Miss Saunders is so nice. Will you marry soon?”
“Miss Saunders is very busy now, but willing to stop all jobs for Mr. Euan George. What a love story!”

If Riley did not know Lydia before, she would believe this was a glamorous lady. Now, she had to say
Lydia was an angelic bitch!
The reporters kept talking with Lydia who had a look at Riley by accident. A faint sneer of satisfaction
crossed Lydia’s face. Then Lydia smiled and said softly, “We have not got the plan. But we will tell the
public as soon as we’re married.”
Riley got her mobile phone in her pocket and dialed a number to say, “Security? Please come to the
VIP room. Many people are noisy here.”
Hanging off the call, Riley had the idea in her mind, “Lydia, even if I lost Euan, I will not allow you to be
the proud winner!”
