The next morning, Rebecca was changing her shoes in the hallway.

Just as she was about to leave with few books in her hands, there was a familiar sound of footsteps in the direction of the landing on the second floor.

She looked over and greeted with a smile, "Morning, Adam."

Adam looked at her and frowned, saying, "Where's my breakfast?"

Rebecca kept smiling brightly.

She replied, "It's on the dining table! Bye"

After that, she lowered her head and continued to change her shoes.

Then, she opened the door and closed it with a ‘bang’.

"Adam..."

At this moment, Linda hugged Adam from behind and leaned against his back.

"Why are you up so early? It hasn't been seven o'clock!"

Adam took one last look at the empty hallway, then turned around, and hugged Linda.

He kissed on her forehead, saying, "Take a nap.I need to go to the company early to attend a meeting."

When Rebecca arrived at school, she met Justin who was running.

In fact, Justin was in good shape.

Though he was less handsome than Adam, he was also a tall man with long legs.

Rebecca didn't understand why she didn't have a crush on Justin! Perhaps, it was because she knew him very well!

"What time is it? You're still doing morning exercises!" She glanced at him.

Justin was in a T-shirt and shorts, sweating.

Justin smiled and deliberately shook his head, splashing the sweat from his hair onto Rebecca.

Rebecca closed her eyes and turned away.

Justin quickly reached out and grabbed her shoulder, asking, "Hey, have you had breakfast?"

"Yes."

As she spoke, Rebecca pointed to the bamboo grove not far away.

"I'll go to the bamboo grove first to practice French for a while."

"Didn't you live in the Waterside Spring Complex? Why are you here so early? You even had breakfast.When did you get up?"

Justin did not let her go, grabbing her shoulder.

"I moved."

Rebecca smiled and shrugged.

She slid from Justin's palm and said, "By the way, give me the contact information and address of that tutor."

"You agreed?"

Justin suddenly became a little excited.

Rebecca nodded, saying, "Yes."

"Then come to school on Saturday.I'll take you there."

Rebecca bit her lips and opened her mouth after a pause, "Okay."

In the afternoon, Rebecca handed over the materials and data that she had prepared to the professor and talked about a few confusing questions with him.

At almost six in the afternoon, the professor had something to do and left.

However, Rebecca didn't want to go back home, so she carried books and went to the library.

However, as soon as she sat down in the library, her phone rang.

It was from Adam.

Rebecca didn't want to answer it, so she muted her phone and put it into her bag.

At around seven o'clock in the afternoon, it was already dark outside.

Rebecca had to go back now even she didn't want to.

She took out her mobile phone from the bag only to find thirteen missed calls.

Twelve of them were from Adam.

Heh...Rebecca smiled helplessly and dialed.

"Rebecca! You don't want to come back, do you?"

The call went through and was quickly connected.

Then, the man's cold voice sounded.

The man said in a commanding and cold tone, which left no room for her to refuse.

"Adam, what if I really have something to do?"

"Then report it to me.You can't go until I say yes."

He was almost roaring at the other end of the line.

Rebecca frowned and said obediently, "Okay, I'll go back now and cook"

When Rebecca arrived at the apartment, she did not see Adam or Linda.

However, Adam asked her to come back to cook.

She cooked the dinner because she had to eat even they weren't at home.

When she entered the kitchen and was about to prepare the food, she suddenly heard someone going downstairs.

Rebecca knew it was Linda.

"Rebecca, you're finally back.Adam and I are starving.Is there any food at home? We want to grab a bite."

Linda ran to the kitchen and asked Rebecca.

Rebecca said, "Yes.Fruit."

"Well, Adam and I will have some fruit first."

"Okay."

Rebecca nodded and took out two apples and one dragon fruit from the fridge.

Then, she washed them, peeled apples with a knife, and sliced them.

Linda stood at the door all the way, watching, waiting, like a child who was patiently waiting for her mother to give her food.

"Rebecca, I can...Ouch!"

Just as Rebecca finished slicing two apples and was about to slice the dragon fruit, Linda stretched out her hand right under her knife.

Her fingers immediately bled.

Then, Rebecca heard an extremely piercing scream.

Rebecca looked at her right hand.

Linda held her bleeding right hand with her left hand.

The knife cut her ring finger, middle finger, and index finger.

Linda held her right hand and glared at Rebecca, tears coursing down her face.

Rebecca looked at her, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes.

"Linda, what's wrong?"

Then, just as Rebecca opened her eyes, Adam rushed in with a flustered look.

"Adam, my hand..."

Linda turned around with tears in her eyes and blood all over her hand.

"Rebecca!"

Adam grabbed Linda's hand and glared at Rebecca.He looked ferocious as if he was about to tear her into pieces immediately.

"Let's go to the hospital now.’’

As he spoke, Adam leaned down and picked Linda up.

"Yes.'’ Linda nodded and nestled into Adam's arms, trembling and crying.

Rebecca stood there in a daze.

She watched Adam rush out of the kitchen with Linda in his arms, pass through the dining room, and disappear.

She took a deep breath, feeling that her legs were weak.
