Chapter 4: I'll Only Marry Linda  

Just as Rebecca was about to knock on the door of Adam's room, Julia walked out of her room.

"Do you wanna sleep with my son? Humph! Don't overreach yourself!" she snapped at Rebecca with disgust in her eyes, "Go to the guest room downstairs and sleep there."

"Yes, Mom."

Rebecca then turned around and went downstairs without hesitation.

Adam, who heard Rebecca's instant agreement in his room, wore a faint smile on his face.

Rebecca went to the garden after getting up and listened to the news on her mobile phone.

When she returned to the living room after half an hour, she saw Adam and Julia coming downstairs.

She hurriedly took off the headphones in her ears and greeted them with a smile, "Mom, Adam, good morning!"

Julia sneered, "Why didn’t you help the maids prepare breakfast? Do you really consider yourself as a member of my family?"

She then said to Adam lovingly, "Let's go to have breakfast."

"OK, Mom.’ Adam walked past Rebecca without even looking at her and headed for the dining room with Julia.

Arthur, who was reading newspapers in the living room, stood up from the sofa after hearing their conversation.

He then walked to the dining room as he said to Rebecca, "Let's have breakfast!"

"Yes, Dad!"

Rebecca walked over and sat down beside Adam in fear.

Julia silently glanced at Rebecca in disgust.

Soon the maids brought all the dishes to the table.

Everyone started to enjoy their meals attentively with their heads down.

It's so rare to have a serene meal.

After a while, Arthur finished his meal first and said, "Are you gonna work today, Adam?"

"Yes,"

Adam replied coldly.

"Have you accepted your new wife?"

"No, I won't accept her now and forever.I only love Linda, and she's the girl who I want to marry.’ Adam's reply was so firm and resolute as if nothing could change his mind.

Rebecca's hand holding the spoon froze in the air

"Do you wanna piss me off?"

"No, I don't.But if you insist on interfering in my relationship and marriage, I will only fight against you.Linda and I have been together for four years.How could you have the heart to separate us? Why do you hate her so much, Dad?"

"Why? Don't you really get it? You almost died because of her!" Arthur roared in a fit of rage.

"That was an accident!" Adam yelled.

"An accident?"

Arthur darkened his face and continued, "Why are you too stupid to see through that trick? Or have you been bewitched by that girl and blinded your judgment? It's so obvious that she wanted to kill you."

"Don't throw mud at her!" Adam bashed the table.

Arthur then gave Adama heavy slap on the face.

"Humph, bye!"

Adam sneered coldly and left.

"Adam..."

Julia hurriedly chased out.

Rebecca was shocked by this scene.

After a while, she collected herself and said timidly, "Dad, I'm going to school."

Rebecca was packing up her things when her roommate Caroline went in.

"What are you doing, Rebecca?"

"I'm sorry, Caroline.I'm not going to live here with you from today on."

Caroline froze, "Why?"

"My family wants me to live at home.’

"Your family? I've never heard of them from you.I think you'll be so tired if you run back and forth every day."

Rebecca shook her head, "It's okay.There aren't many classes this semester anyway.’

Caroline pursed her lips and hugged Rebecca.

"Fine, since it's your family's decision, I can't do anything to change it.But you can still come to the dormitory anytime.Anyway, my bed is big enough for us."

Rebecca smiled, "Okay”

"Do you need my favor?"

"Yes, thank you so much."

Soon they put all Rebecca's belongings in a large suitcase.

"Wow, it's so heavy."

Caroline tried to carry the suitcase but immediately put it down.

There was no lift in this old dormitory, so they had to take the stairs.

Rebecca took her bag and smiled at Caroline, "Put it there.I'll carry it."

"You are so thin and weak.

Rebecca was about to follow her out but suddenly remembered that the invoice of her tuition was on the vanity.

So she rushed to the washroom.

Suddenly, a sound of a heavy object sliding down the stairs came from outside the door, followed by a woman's scream.

Rebecca was so startled that she immediately turned around and rushed out.

"Rebecca, I caused trouble!"

Caroline said with a worried look.

Rebecca took a glance at the stairs and found a beautiful girl sitting on the ground whose knees were bleeding.

"Help her up!"

Rebecca pulled Caroline, who was at a loss, and hurriedly ran downstairs.

"Sorry, are you okay?"

Without caring about her suitcase, Rebecca rushed to help the girl on the ground.

"I'm...I'm sorry.I didn't mean it.The suitcase is too heavy and my hands were sweaty, so it slipped and fell off"

Caroline hurriedly explained to the injured girl.

The girl grabbed Rebecca's hand to stand up with some difficulty.Then she looked at her wounds and looked up with a frown.

"It doesn't matter."

The moment the girl raised her head, Caroline immediately recognized her, "You...You are Linda Green, the department belle of the School of Arts, aren't you? Why are you here??"
