When Charles Zhang found Brian and the others, there were only his three roommates left.
“Lillian Chou said something came up in their house. She wanted you to know.”
Michael gazed at Charles Zhang meaningfully. Michael seemed to be waiting for him to explain
something.
The company held the activity today. After the performance, there would be a dinner party. Eliza and
Blaze Xu would both go there. Since Charles Zhang offended the two people today, the dinner party
would be awkward. Josie’s phone call came when he was still pondering about whether to go.
“I’m in the usual place. Do you want to go back now?”
Charles Zhang just remembered that Josie asked him to leave today. If he didn’t go back now, he
would have to let Brian take him back.
He didn’t want Brian to know too many things, but if he didn’t go back, they would ask Eliza questions
when he returned to the dormitory.
Today, Josie was wearing a light blue dress. It showed her unique elegance and superior figure.
He spotted her in the crowd before he got to the car.
A moment later, three or four men came to chat with her, but Josie politely refused them.
He waited for the people around her to leave before approaching her.
“Are you not happy to see so many people around me?”
Charles Zhang was still thinking about what happened at the company’s door, so his expression was
awful. He didn’t expect to be misunderstood by Josie.
“That’s not true. I think you’re excellent!”
Josie smiled and shook her head. She talked about her left while driving.
Several of her girlfriends went out for dinner once a week. They took turns to treat each other, so it’s
hard for her to refuse.
“Drop me at the intersection. Otherwise, you will be late soon!”
Josie became nervous. She thought that Charles Zhang had something to do and could not go right
away because she asked for leave. She quickly stopped the car.
“Young master, if you have something to do, it’s okay if I don’t go. If Madame knows that I left you here
to eat alone, she will fire me!”
Josie was incredibly nervous. Before Charles Zhang could say anything, she took out her mobile
phone. It seemed like she wanted to call someone.
Charles Zhang quickly took her cell phone out of her hands and canceled the call. Then he gazed at
Josie helplessly.
This girl was worried about losing her job. He was not a disabled person who needed to be taken care
of all the time. Josie must have her own life. Otherwise, what’s the use of the salary? The girl didn’t
understand that.
“Why are you so nervous? It’s normal to have a bit of personal life. You can drive to the place where
you eat. I have nothing to do anyway. I will just stay in the car.”
When Josie heard this, she felt even more embarrassed. She was blushing and didn’t say a word.
Charles Zhang did not urge her. Even if his parents hired Josie, she still had to listen to him.
When the car stopped at the door of a club, Josie was perplexed for a long time before getting off.
“Young master, if you have something to do, just call me. I’ll take you to a new spicy hot pot restaurant
in the evening. It’s delicious!”
When Josie said this, she was very different from usual. Josie was an elegant woman during work. It
seemed that no matter what the assignment was, she was confident that she could finish it. But now,
she’s speaking like a cute little girl.
Charles Zhang nodded and closed the car glass.
Seeing Josie’s figure disappeared, Charles Zhang lowered the glass slightly to ventilate. He was quite
tired in the car.
“Don’t forget what Harry has ordered.”
A voice reached Charles Zhang’s ears. It wasn’t that he wanted to eavesdrop, but the person talking
was standing right beside his car. It was hard not to listen.
“I know, I know, but I don’t know why Harry took a fancy at Josie. He had been chasing her since
school.”
Another girl replied to the person impatiently. Hearing that they mentioned Josie’s name, Charles
Zhang listened carefully.
It’s normal for a girl as excellent as Josie to be chased by several people. Charles Zhang glanced at
the name of the club. He had heard it from Brian.
It was the only five-star clubhouse in the city. Only the rich and powerful dared to go here.
After all, any meal could cost tens of thousands.
What the two girls said was not believable. They gossiped that Josie worked in a private hospital to
hook up with a rich man.
Charles Zhang couldn’t hold back anymore. He lowered the car glass. The two girls standing aside
were shocked.
“Why are you eavesdropping here?”
One of the girls with short hair yelled at Charles Zhang.
Charles Zhang rolled down the car window. He wanted to see the two girls’ faces. If something
happened, he would be able to look for them. Charles Zhang didn’t pay much attention to what they novelbin
said.
Those two girls saw him not speaking. They called him crazy and hurried to the club.
Before they left, Charles Zhang could still listen to their discussion.
“Don’t screw up when you see Josie. We have to be precise. Who knows if she has some connection?
We must not be the scapegoat when she searched for the culprit!”
Scapegoat? If something happened, it would be inseparable from the two of them.
Charles Zhang took a look at his mobile phone. It only had 20% left, so he looked for a power bank in
the car.
Charles Zhang was relieved once he found one. He then continued to play with his mobile
phone.
