Chapter 11

***Ava's Pov***

Renata and her husband Reynard had arrived moments earlier looking as good as always. I had yet to

know exactly what type of business they conducted. All I knew is that they made a lot of money from it.

We were currently on the dining room when Renata received a phone call. We all watched with

concern as she conversed with whoever was on the calling end. Her face changed instantly, her eyes

began to water just as her husband took the phone from her.

When he had talked to the other person too, his mood had darkened. I knew that something was very

wrong.

'We have to leave now. ' Renata whispered in a broken voice.

'I know honey. ' Reynard answered, taking her right hand into his, offering her some kind of comfort.

After silently witnessing the exchange between his parents, Bryson finally spoke.

"But you just got back mum". Bryson complained.

"Yes honey, but we have to go, this is urgent. Trust me when I tell you that we really have to go. We'll

be back as soon as we can." Bry's mum tried explaining to him, with her husband besides her, nodding

as she talked.

I couldn't help but feel bad for the boys. Even though they didn't show it, I knew they wished they could

spend more time with their parents.

"It's okay mum, dad you can go. We understand." This time it was Ray who talked, equally saddened

by his parents departure.

"Okay boys, we'll get someone to drive us to the airport. You go rest up." Mr Romans was eager to get

out. Whatever that call was all about it didn't seem like it was any good.

Looking at Mrs Romans now I noticed how pale she was getting, she was very uncomfortable and her

eyes were becoming glossier by the minute. novelbin

"Ava sweetie, can I have a word with you outside please?"

"Yes Madam"

"None of that Ava, you know that I see you as one of my children right? ' She questioned hopefully.

'In fact you are just like the daughter I never had." She added.

She tugged me by my hand to the front porch. "Ava, I've told you countless times to call me mum. It's a

lot to ask, but I want you to, please. Please honey, can you do that?"

I was shocked, yes she had wanted me to call her mum ever since I started working for them. But it

always felt like I'd be replacing my mum.

But hearing the desperation in her voice I figured she was genuine.

She really wanted me to call her mum and I was going to try call her that.

She had done a lot for me, and I thought that I could repay her by just giving her the joy of having a

daughter. She deserved it, she really did.

"Okay, mum." I said it in a small voice, a smile etching on my face. I thought she hadn't heard me but

when she broke into sobs, I knew she heard me.

She hugged me tightly, saying thank you repeatedly. I just stood there, feeling that for once someone

wanted me to be family.

And so I hugged her back, welcoming the warmth that I once felt with my late mother.

There was this bond I kind of felt between Renata and I. Like it was meant to be. It scared me a lot but I

wasn't going to let it stop me from enjoying the comfort I felt.

"We really need to go Renata. You know what is at stake here please." Reynard urged impatiently.

"One more minute, Reynard. One more minute." He just nodded, telling me that we'd talk when they

came back.

When we finally stopped hugging, she called her boys over. Hugging them too, telling them to make

sure I was comfortable and safe.

I didn't understand why she was suddenly behaving this way, but I loved it. I was happy and I prayed

that whatever that call was all about wouldn't break her.

Once they said their goodbyes, they walked to the already awaiting SUV. Before Reynard got in, he

turned around, looked at me and uttered words I never expected to hear him say.

"Ava, call me dad too." and with that they left.

What just happened, what was going on? Something was not right at all. They had never shown such

emotions before, yes they were good to me. But this, this was an entirely different thing.

"Let's go in, we can eat something and watch a movie maybe." Bry suggested.

"I totally agree, Ava, you up for it?" Ray agreed.

"You really want to watch a movie with me?" I was kind of confused, especially cause it's Bryson who

suggested it.

"Yes Ava, I'm not always a monster, now come on before I change my mind." He cleared my doubts.

"What do you want me to cook?" I questioned the boys.

"Nothing, I'll order pizza." Ray answered.

"thank you guys."

"No need, we'll watch in my room." Bry said.

"Why not my room?" Ray asked.

"No thank you. I can't sit on that bed, the sheets prolly have juices all over it." Bryson teased, referring

to mine and Ray's escapades earlier.

I was blushing, of course Bry would say such a thing.

"You are just jealous." Ray answered back before continuing.

"Bry Why don't you go set up the room while I wait down here with Ava for the pizza?"

"M'kay I know you just want to be left alone with her."

"Not now Bry, don't start please. Okay, tell you what why don't you wait here with Ava while I go set

up?" Ray asked.

"Okay, I'll stay here."

I didn't like being alone with Bryson at all. I knew he just wanted to start the insults again, and it

dampened my mood completely.

I looked at Ray's retreating figure, wishing he would just come back.

I closed my eyes, waiting for the taunting to begin. But instead I felt hands on my shoulders, turning me

around.

"Open your eyes Ava, I won't hurt you." He urged in a soft voice.

Wow, what's with people today? I thought. First Renata amd Reynard and now Bryson?

So I opened my eyes, realising how Bryson was close to me. Our bodies were almost touching, I could

feel my insides getting heated up.

Oh my god, is he being good for once?

He dipped his head, licking his lips in the process. I couldn't ignore the attraction I had for him at the

moment.

I ignored the small voice in the back of my head telling me to stop. My eyes flicked back and forth

between his eyes and his lips.

"I fucking want to kiss you right now." He rasped.

I nodded, not trusting my voice to say anything sensible. He slowly took my hands, placed them around

his neck, making me tiptoe in the process. He tilted his head, and his lips met mine.

I gave in to the kiss, loving how his lips felt against mine. This was slow and sweet, he was gentle

taking his time.

Our lips moulded together, moving as one. They fit like a complete puzzle. His hands on my ass, he

lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his torso.

He then licked my lower lip, asking for entrance. I could feel his growing bulge under my ass, prompting

me to grind on it. He thrust his hips upwards on reflex, grinding onto my aroused crotch.

His hands on my ass directed my movements, making me move my front in an up and down

movement. The pleasure I felt when our fronts met made me throw my head back in a silent moan.

'Fucking hell! ' Bry groaned, grinding his teeth together. Just as he was about to put me on the couch,

the door bell rang.

"ding dong" the bell chimed making Bryson groan in annoyance.

The delivery man was here, way to stop such an amazing moment.

He put me down, went to take the pizza, put it on the coffee table then walked to me.

I hadn't moved an inch, I was pretty confused and disappointed in myself.

Looking at his dishevelled hair and slightly swollen lips, I couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't stopped

that kiss. But then the tingle between my legs said it all.

He was now standing so close to me like before, our profiles almost touching. But I knew I couldn't let

him kiss me again, not when Ray was upstairs probably wondering what was taking us long to go up.

If he so much moved an inch closer to me, I would jump him. The self constrain Ray talked about

earlier was happening to me.

So I stepped back, picked the pizza and went upstairs without a word, leaving a disappointed Bryson in

the living room.

But halfway the staircase I heard him mutter words that almost made me lose my footing

"I fucking have to make things right with that angel."
