I had finally felt what it was like to have sex. The feeling was indescribable, though the pleasure I felt

'Give her a break man, I think the burn is stupid too. ' I spoke to Ray before Ava could answer, loving

how worked up he was getting over his name.

'Enough boys, now I had told Ava that we would come back with a visitor. ' Mum spoke, commanding

attention through her serious tone.

'Yeah Ren..uuh mum, is she the lady that you came with earlier? ' Ava asked softly.

'No Ava, that is our new domestic worker. I'm assuming Ray passed my message to you? ' Ava

nodded.

'That means that you are a part of this family Ava, no question about it. ' Dad spoke, joining the

conversation wholly.

'A debit card will be given to you tomorrow morning. Use it however you like. ' Dad had taken a liking

to this girl. He was acting like her father for real.

'Thank you uum dad... thank you so much. ' She had a teary smiley face, she was indeed grateful.

Were we ruining this for her? There's no doubt that my parents wanted us to be her family , the one she

lost when her mum passed on.

'Honey, the visitor I told you about is admitted at The Nairobi Women's Hospital. We flew in with her,

that way she can be close to us.

'Yes, I will wait. ' Ava assured my mum.

'So that's out of the way, we are pretty jet lagged. It's a miracle we ate dinner tonight. ' Dad said.

'Ha ha yeah, you usually don't eat after your flights. ' I pointed out.

'Okay kids, you have yourself a wonderful night. ' Dad stood, helping mum up.

After the goodnight wishes, mum and dad left for their bedroom.

'Why won't they just tell Ava who this visitor is ? ' Ray pointed out.

'Yeah, I mean why are they being secretive about this? ' I wondered.

'Why would they fly all the way to Italy to bring this sick person back with them? ' I continued asking

questions.

'Didn't you hear your mother say the visitor in question is dear to them? ' Ava joined the conversation.

'Do we know the gender of this person? ' I added. Making Ray snort and Ava sigh in return.

'Are you kidding me now? ' Ava looked at me as if I had two heads.

'Mum just said they took her to Nairobi Women's Hospital, women's Bryson. ' Ray stressed. novelbin

'Yeah well, some. I zoned down a bit. ' I answered him.

'Yeah whatever, you guys up for a marathon of some series ? ' Ray suggested.

'I'm down for Legacies, I can't wait to stare at Rafael's lips. ' Ava stated

'The fuck you will. ' I nearly growled.

'Calm your tits man, she's just toying with us. ' Ray earned a dirty look from me. Making sure that he

knew I wasn't cool with him teasing me.

'We are watching the Witcher. ' I declared, not giving anyone room to object.

We decided to watch the series in Ava's room, wanting to give the new worker space to do the dishes

and whatever else she'd want to do.

'On second thought, I really think we should sleep. ' Ava spoke in a timid voice.

'You're seriously jus..'

'Shut up Bryson. ' Ray cut me off. Telling Ava that she was right and that she needed to go rest.

We left her room, letting her sleep just like she had wanted. Once we were in Ray's room, he explained

some things.

Ray told me that Ava had been through a lot in the last couple of days. He made me realise that as

much as she needed sleep, we also did.

'Please let me stay. ' I didn't want to sleep alone, I just felt safe around my older brother, something he

clearly knew.

'Of course, jump right in. '

Tonight was all about sleeping, nothing else. I was comfortable on his bed, his smell and warmth

calmed me a lot.

'Now that Ava is getting a debit card, do you think we could take her shopping ?' Ray suddenly asked.

'I don't see why not, we'll just have to convince her. ' Ray then switched off the lights, moving

impossibly close to me.

'Something odd is going on with mum and dad. This 'visitor's crap' is unsettling.

Not to mention how they suddenly decided Ava was a part of our family. I mean they're even giving her

a debit card to their account. '

'You're right Ray, I think whatever they're hiding affects Ava directly. '

'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?'

'Yeah Ray, we have to do some digging.'
