Chapter 24

His exact words made me look up at him

I thought he was telling me

But you always hear what you want to hear

His eyes were fixed at her while mine flooded with newly formed tears

He engulfed her into a hug and started kissing her infront of me

His hands rested on her waist while her hands messed with his hair

They didn't stop

Her moans made it difficult for me to stay there

A new kind of pain entered my body

Like needles piercing my skin

My body backed against the wall as I closed my eyes

"You can leave.."

He spoke to me after 2 months

The first time after she came here

And this is what he said

I nodded and moved my shaky legs towards the door

He continue what he left again ignoring me

As I was going to close the door and leave she said

"I love you Xavier"

My hands stopped on the door handle but when I heard his reply I closed the door

"Love you too my angel"

Tears flowed like waterfall

My stomach churned with pain

While my legs trembled not able to hold on my weight.

This pain was too much

I need to do something

With shaky legs I made my way towards the medical room

I pushed my body forward while holding on to the walls

Finally on reaching the room I ransacked all the drawers looking for it.

Finally I found it placed in the strong dose section

This was my only pain reliever

My only medicine

I filled up the syringe with the wolfsbane dose

I don't how but my body has grown accustomed to it.

Earlier they used to inject me with it everyday and I felt numb

I Wanted to feel numb right now

Numb from all this pain.

As I inserted the syringe into my arm I felt the liquid enter my blood stream

This dose was stronger than my earlier ones but I know I needed it now.

The veins in my arms got highlighted

They stuck out as the thick liquid made it's way through them

I started feeling numb

Just like I wanted

The mirror in the medical room again showed me my ugly dull face

I moved towards it and touched my reflection in the mirror

My eyes stared back at me

I felt like I was looking at someone else and not at me

The eyes looked dead and haunting

While I was staring at them the blue iris changed to black discs

I stepped back now afraid of my own self

I was hallucinating for sure

My face in the mirror was getting hazy as those cold black eyes kept staring at me.

The pain in my chest subdued and soon I found myself falling into oblivion

As my body landed on the floor I felt all the energy leaving me just like I wanted.

This was a temporary solution to my pain but was better than nothing.

She laid unconscious on the hospital floor with a syringe in one hand ...her breathing was regular but

her body was not....the place where she injected the syringe was turning blue...the veins on her arms

were shining with blue colour and the thunder mark on her chest was shining with a bright blue light.

The blue lights vanished as soon as they came but they did gave a glimpse of the future.

She was returning .....resurrecting once again......but this time she will not be the one giving a

sacrifice....it was time the human submitted to the wolf....she will get her freedom ....the wolf needed to

strech her legs after so many years......she needs to be free forever and she will get it even at the cost

of the human's sanity.

After all only one can survive

And now was her turn to thrive.

I woke up to realise that it was dark outside

The lights to the infarmary were off meaning no one came here while I was out.

I tried to lift myself off the floor holding to the nearby shelf

My legs were still numb from the effects of the drug but I managed

As I made my way out of the room I was met with a deadly silence

It must be very late I thought

I turned the corner and my body collided with something making me to fall down

I looked up to see Eric looking at me with a look I couldn't decipher

He kept staring into my eyes and it felt like he was sad looking at me

" You are broken ...your eyes look dead and your aura is depressing....they are symtoms of

approaching death on the rejection of a weak wolf...I may have hated you but I never wish for you to

With this he left leaving me trying to understand the deep meaning of his words of wisdom.

He was not a bad person unlike most of the people here and these few words he spoke proved this.
