Joel gave another hum from the passenger seat.

I looked at him with confusion and whispered to Steven, “Does he have nome kind of issue?”

The car door closed again with a bang, and it startled me.

Ewan apologized. “I’m sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln. Due to work, I’ve neglected him and spoiled him.”

It sounded like a warning.
