Seal of Light - Enlightened

Chapter 13: XII. Test of Faith

“Why are you here?” The Demon lord asked with his crumbling voice.

Mat, who was a few meters away from the demon, stood motionless with his ki-blade torching from the

end of his fist. He was preparing for the enemy’s next move.

“I am here to reclaim the captive souls taken by your pawns.”

Casus’Lucem noticed Mat’s Seal of Light on his right arm that was now fully lit and ready for whatever

its wielder decided to use its power with.

“That Seal of Light you carry…”

"...that Fish Symbol..."

“…do you know who it represents?”

“If you can answer this then maybe… maybe I will let you live…”

“The seal I carry belongs to the brightest morning star,” Mat replied.

Mat started to feel the very strong gravitational pull again. But this time he could somehow withstand it

because of his unleashed seal. But he needed to move. His knees began to shaken a bit as he fought

for the force that was pulling him.

Just as Mat prepared to quick leap away from his location, Casus’Lucem grasped him on his throat and

threw the weight of his body at him, forcing Mat back and down as though he meant to bury him right

there in the ground.

“Did you know that our king from hell, Lucifer, is the bringer of light?”

Mat’s ki-blade vanished as he lost control of his seal’s power. He was trying to free himself from this

choke that was slowly taking his consciousness.

“Yes I know, Luci means light, but he was also the great deceiver. He brings false light to those who

follow him. This Seal that I carry, is the seal of the Messiah himself, the one that we call Christ, he is

the brightest light that there is and will ever be, the fisher of men, he that brings hope and saved

mankind,” Mat said in a much weakened voice.

“Well versed you are Mat Adam, so you already made your choice.” Casus said as he raised Mat

above ground and tightened the grip some more on his throat.

Mat’s seal could not hold any longer to protect him. It began to fade its light down as Mat holds on to

his dear life.

“Cough,” Mat was starting to feel total discomfort as he panicked to get some fresh air in.

Mat gasped and lurched, staggering under the sickening feeling of weakness. If he did not do anything,

this would be the end. The demon would finish him easily and proceed with the others.

“Master Navi’Sai prepared us for this, we were not chosen for nothing, I will not end like this easily.”

Mat’s seal was trying to regain its light slowly.

“Come on, must try to escape this…”

You are already making a good impression Mat Adam, you could have been better if you choose to

fight for me.” Casus’Lucem mocked.

Mat tried to draw his ki-blade again but Casus’Lucem slammed him down hard to the ground. Several

stomping was send to him followed by this huge blast of dark energy that came from the demon’s open

palm.

“Maybe, maybe I was not that ready enough for this. I thought I had it, but the gap between our power

and strength is immeasurable.” Mat thought as he felt the huge amount of pain that caught up with him. novelbin

The demon staggered back, catching himself in midair with a powerful leap for his final blow to Mat with

his charged and fully winded fist.

Mat helplessly watched as he waited for the contact, but the attack was cut short by this whip of light

that strangled on the Demon lord’s arm and stopped him.

Mat closed his eyes in surrender as he tried to focus on breathing. “Thank you, must stay… must

live…”

It was Rigs’ who was pulling the Demon lord from further punishing Mat. Casus’Lucem turned around

while trying to untangle the whip when several slashes of ki-blade alternately pierced and stroked him

from the opposite side.

Summer took the chance and quickly sneaked back to pull Mat’s lifeless body away to safety. Jimmy

arrived just in time to help her.

Casus’Lucem made a full swing of his left arm to hit either of Sieg or Willow who was still trying to

attack him from different angles.

Sieg and Willow landed in front of Summer and Jimmy who were carrying Mat’s body.

Sieg carried Mat off from Summer and quick leap away. Willow took Summer and Jimmy and followed

where Sieg landed.

Casus’Lucem forcefully pulled the ki-whip that was holding him, Rigs was violently thrown away by this

action.

“This new batch of carriers is nothing but disappointment.”

The Demon lord was about to make a follow up attack to Rigs when Sieg quick leap in between them to

interrupt.

“Willow…” Summer yelled in disbelief to see her cousin in this very unlikely situation.

“Plenty of hugs later cousin dear, you’re seal has unleashed, I think you can do something with that

fallen hero,” Willow said while making a stop gesture sign.

A butterfly shaped seal appeared on Summer’s lower back.

“Oh, yes of course, w-wow I have unleashed my own seal,” Summer surprisingly said.

“Go try to fix him while I help the others,” Willow said before quick leaping away from Summer.

Summer felt the energy that was flowing from her seal. It’s like it was trying to communicate with her,

telling her what she can do with it. Summer knelt before Mat’s body and pressed her hands softly to his

chest. She knew what she had to do. Veins of light started to flow from her arm passing on to Mat’s

lifeless body. “So mom’s stories were all true, all this time, they were no fairy tale. It was all real, and I

had the chance to experience it firsthand.Wait- wait I must focus on reviving Mat.”

“Come on Mat Adam, come back please, we still have to finish this. We still need you here. Please

hear me.”
