Chapter 16: XV. Astral Phantom Traveller

Mat's POV

Am I dead?

So I was left helplessly alone in the middle of nowhere. Last thing I remembered, I was in a middle of a

battlefield, caught in a death match, roughly fighting against a Demon lord named Casus’Lucem.

But now, I appear fresh and lively, there was no evidence of bruises or wounds on my body.

But where am I? What is this place?

This place looks like an endless void. Massive fog lies low on the floor. The only light I see is the one

that is coming from this broken silver cord that was attached to my body. I started running again, from a

direction I could not tell, I did this just to see if things would change if I do so.

But nothing changes. It’s just the same blank space I have been running since I got here awhile ago.

Suddenly, a stream of living energy enveloped me. It was made of pure light. It flowed like water, but I

can breathe into it. It was magical. It was fantastic. I felt so much peace as the energy ran circle

through my skin.

It was a feeling I never wanted to leave, for it gave me serenity, a feel of enlightenment. It wrapped

around me and supported my body’s weight.

I wanted to stay like this, connected to the light, forever.

The energy started to disentangle slowly from me, returning my weight back to my feet.

Then, a very striking light appeared in front of me. I could not see it directly. I was covering my face

from the excessive light with my hands.

Then it spoke.

“Hello my faithful carrier.”

The voice sounded so majestic, but each word he said came out like an authority. Like it would never

be broken by anyone.

“W-who are you?”

“I am the owner of that seal you carry, young Mat Adam.”

"The fish seal belongs to the Messiah, the fisher of men. The one we also know as our Christ," Mat

“Ow, you are..”

“Finish the mission, young Mat Adam, your task as a carrier just began. There is a much bigger threat

waiting after this, and you will be part of that Great War. Find your strength. The fish seal will help you.

I couldn’t say a word back. Like I was given a great task by…

The Messiah

I was entrusted with this power.

I have the fish seal, because…

I am Mat Adam.

Then, all of a sudden, everything flushed away like a spinning vortex, I had to shut my eyes close from

the pulling force, all the pain catches up on my body, but I feel, relieved somehow, I can even feel my

seal glowing on its full power.

I tried to regain sight as I slowly opened my eyes.

It was a horrible sight.

A person, with this dark energy flowing out from his body. He is an embodiment of pure evil.

I saw Summer lifted up with a black ki-blade pierced on her chest. Another female was on the other

side having the same fate.

They seem to be already… dead.

Then there was this sudden rage of emotion in me, I did not realized I have turned myself, my whole

body into light. Excessive energy flows out from my eyes and then thru my palm. But I feel so in control

with this vast and enormous power. With a blink of an eye, I have passed thru the body of their

executioner. He did not saw me coming. It was the least he could expect that could happen.
