Chapter 9 He Already Has a Crush

The call was from Cicely.

Claudia answered the phone call, “Hello, mom.”

Cicely continued in a fret on the phone, “Get back now. I have something to talk to you.”

After a few seconds of silence, Claudia replied, “OK.”

Cicely was the one who took care of Claudia most in the Lamont family. After all, Cicely had paid the medical and other expenses for Eleanor.

Edmond had wished Claudia to keep their divorce from Cicely when Claudia had asked for it.

However, no one could keep anything from anyone forever. Someday Cicely would know about the divorce.

As soon as Claudia walked in, she noticed Cicely checking her cell phone on the sofa. Cicely frowned as if she was reading something unpleasant.

“There you are.” Cicely raised her head and saw Claudia. Cicely patted the spot next to her and said, “Come here.

“I’ve known what you’ve been through, my girl. I’m sorry about that.” Cicely’s eye rims were slightly red, indicating that she had secretly cried. “It’s Edmond’s fault. He doesn’t know how kind you are. You’ve helped him a lot. And Edmond shouldn’t treat you so badly. Edmond will come back soon. I’ll let you two have a talk.”

After hearing Cicely’s words, Claudia felt uneasy. “Mom, Edmond and I…”

Unexpectedly, Rosalie was following Edmond behind.

Seeing Rosalic, Cicely stood up abruptly. “Why are you here?”

Edmond turned to look at Claudia. Thinking how Waldron had ruined his reputation for Claudia, Edmond looked much colder.

Edmond had only doubted the relationship between Waldron and Claudia before. But Edmond thought his guess was right at that moment.

After all, Waldron had risked the gossip between Claudia and him.

Edmond pursed his lips and looked away.

“Claudia and I have divorced,” said Edmond.

After hearing Edmond’s words, Cicely became astonished. “What are you saying?”

“We have already signed the agreement and got the divorce certificate,” Edmond answered, glancing at Claudia.

Claudia said nothing but smiled bitterly.

anger. “If you still think I am your mother, let Rosalie out!”

“Edmond…” Rosalie got frightened and instantly hid behind Edmond’s back with timidity.

Since Edmond didn’t do anything, Cicely’s face was livid with anger. Suddenly, Cicely got so weak and fell backward.

Cicely was carried into the emergency room of a hospital.

Looking at the familiar corridor, Claudia started to tremble slightly.

The last time Claudia had been in the corridor, she had been saddened by the news of her grandmother’s death.

“The blame is on me…” Rosalie wore a sad face. “If it weren’t for me, Cicely wouldn’t have fainted.”

Watching the familiar emergency room, Claudia recalled the day when her grandmother had passed away.

Rosalie’s face was pale. She almost fell and said slowly, “Then I will wait for you outside.”

Rosalie glared at Claudia and ran away.

Then only Claudia and Edmond were left in the long corridor.

Claudia looked at the door of the emergency room, feeling distressed.

Claudia looked at Edmond and said, “We should have a divorce as soon as possible.”

Since Claudia had had a showdown, it would be better to have a divorce as soon as possible.

Edmond wanted to ask about Waldron, but finally said, “Okay.”

Claudia looked at the man whom she liked for many years, feeling agonized.
