Chapter 12 The Snake Named Orion Atkinson

Based on what Mrs. Quebec and Master Chang said, I vaguely realized that the so-called Serpent

Sarcophagus was connected to the ancestors of the Dragon family, but I didn’t expect it to have such a

dope name.

Uncle Peter wasn’t able light up his cigarette before throwing it away and waving at the men next to

him.

The two men immediately swung the wooden sticks in their hands, forcing me to jump down.

I was certain that Stowy was here, so I felt a lot calmer. With wooden sticks swinging next to me, I had

no choice but to jump into the pit again. I wanted to trick Uncle Peter into telling me more information,

“Why is it called Sarcophagus of Ascension?”

“A snake’s greatest wish is to ascend into a dragon. That ghost snake has been dead for so many

years, but it’s still alive in the Serpent Sarcophagus. It wants to use the Serpent Sarcophagus to

ascend into a flood dragon!” Uncle Peter squatted by the pit and looked at me as he explained.

But then he beckoned to the two men. “Tie her up.”

I was so scared that I almost jumped up, but the man next to me hit my forehead hard with a wooden

stick.

I was caught off guard by this blow. I only felt something explode in my head before I started seeing

stars and felt dizzy.

The two men jumped in and tied me up.

I walked for most of the day without drinking or eating anything. I didn’t have any energy left to struggle

after trying to escape out of fear and being hit in the head.

My hands and feet were tied up. They even tied a fast knot in front of me.

“Aurora, Master Chang was wrong. You can’t escape. As long as you lie in the Serpent Sarcophagus,

your parents will be fine.” Uncle Peter looked down at me.

In a low voice, he said, “Everyone in Dragonlair Village will thank you. When you draw out the Serpent

Sarcophagus, we’ll see it and know its secret. The Serpent Sarcophagus won’t be used to bury snakes

anymore. It’s better to bury with people.”

“Do you think burying living people in the Serpent Sarcophagus has the same effect as that of the

ghost snake? Will it attract snakes or protect our descendants?” Uncle Peter looked at me with frantic

eyes.

I suddenly thought of Uncle Peter’s father, who was said to have suffered a stroke and was paralyzed

in bed for two years.

So Uncle Peter planned on burying him alive in the Serpent Sarcophagus?

After the two men tied me up, they climbed out of the grave pit and signaled to Uncle Peter that they

could leave.

The entire grave was quiet again. I finally raised my wrist and looked at the Black Mamba Bracelet

around it. “Stowy?”

Stowy appeared directly in the pit this time. With a light touch of his hand, the rope on my body was

loosened. “Your uncle is watching in the woods. They brought a lot of other things.”

In other words, if I ran away, Uncle Peter would definitely stop me again.

“Can you help me?” I pulled the rope off my body, but I didn’t dare show my head out of fear that Uncle

Peter would see me. “Help me save my parents.”

Although he didn’t have a snake body now, this Black Mamba Bracelet was movable.

Based on the many years of experience of making snake liquor that my dad had, I knew that it was an

“Too late, it’s already here.” Stowy’s finger left my forehead, leading me to look back slowly.

I saw a man standing on the edge of the grave pit. He was dressed in a white robe like a deity and

looked down at us. “Stowy, long time no see.”

His voice was crisp and clear, but his eyes were cold, and his pupils kept shrinking when they looked at

me.

“Aurora, I’m Orion.” He looked at me and chuckled. Like a snake, he tilted his head slightly. “Hurt your

forehead?”

I’ve always heard that he was a snake, so I didn’t expect to see a human.

He even had a warm and gentle smile on his face that I wasn’t sure for a moment if he was still that

sinister, cunning, and boorish snake…

I turned to look at Stowy, who nodded at me.

Orion chuckled, “Your uncle wants the Serpent Sarcophagus?”

I was stunned for a moment and felt something rising up under the soil beneath my feet.

Soon, wind blew hard, rustling the leaves. There was lightning, but no thunder.

I looked down at the weeds, trying to see what exactly the so-called Serpent Sarcophagus was. But the

grass was too tall, and the thing underneath rose too slowly that I couldn’t see anything at all.

Stowy hurriedly hold me and jumped out from the grave. He looked at Orion and said, “Why do you

have to kill again?”

“Just getting my revenge.” Orion turned and looked at the woods on the opposite side and then hissed,

poking his tongue out.

Seeing him flicking his forked tongue out, I instantly stopped doubting whether he was that snake.

As he hissed, there was suddenly screams in the woods.

Stowy went straight back to the Black Mamba Bracelet and whispered to me, “Find a chance to

escape.”

Orion had a smirk on his face and turned to look at me. “You’ve been poisoned by the Snake’s Lust

Poison. If you don’t have sex with me, you’ll feel worse and worse. Stowy is unable to cure you!”

I slowly stepped back and stayed away from him. The wind blew harder, and murky clouds were

everywhere. Streaks of lightning danced in the sky like thin snakes.

But the thing in the grave seemed to be rising. Yet it still didn’t come out.

Orion’s white robe was flapping in the wind. Just when I was prepared to slowly retreat, I suddenly

heard a knocking sound. “Knock! Knock!”

Soon, my uncle and his men brought out a glass box. “Orion, what do you think is inside?”

After Uncle Peter finished speaking, a lot of people ran out with bamboo sticks and firecrackers.

In Uncle Peter’s box, a white snake was nailed down where its heart was with several other nails on its

body.

“Bring out the Serpent Sarcophagus.” Uncle Peter held a copper nail and looked at Orion. “I only need

the sarcophagus. You can take away Aurora and your snake body.”

I didn’t expect Uncle Peter to be so cruel. He still used me as a bargaining chip even in this situation.

I turned and wanted to escape, but looking around, it seemed that the entire village was there. Those

people held bamboo sticks and awl-like objects, which were used to hit the bamboo stick.

Everyone hit the bamboo sticks in sync, making hollow noises.

I remember my dad said that this was an old method in the village, called snake knocking.

When a snake was hit by a bamboo stick, the snake would not be able to escape because even if it

didn’t die, the bamboo stick would crack, and pieces of bamboo would clamp the skin. When the snake

was stabbed again, it would be nailed to the ground with no way to escape.

I thought my dad just made that up, but seeing the whole village holding bamboo sticks, I know that it

was actually true.

With the sound of bamboo sticks, the group of snakes was frightened and dispersed.

Just looking at the snake body trapped in the glass box, Orion’s pupils kept shrinking with anger. “Back

then, you guys tricked John to kill me when I was molting. Then you used a Cinnabar Amulet to

summon lightning to strike the sarcophagus so you can snatch the treasures in it. Now you even want

the Serpent Sarcophagus?”

Stowy seemed to have sighed deeply, but he only said to me, “Find an opportunity and I’ll help you

“You swallowed so many women of the Dragon family. So what if we took the gold and silver from the

He knocked on the glass box hard. “You make Aurora bring the Serpent Sarcophagus to us and you

can have your snake body back. How about it?”

“You guys really think I’m scared because I don’t have my snake body?”

I didn’t have an opinion about Uncle Peter before, but this time I could notice that he was ruthless and

left no room for mercy.

He first got a hold of me and used that time to detain my parents. He knew that I was going to go to

Master Chang for help, but he didn’t stop me. Instead, he caught Pearl to prevent his plan from being

messed up.

My cousin was obviously more than a month older than me, but she was not buried in the Serpent

Sarcophagus; it was me instead. Obviously, he interfered back then.

Now that he dared to threaten Orion, he must get a plan in mind.

Sure enough, as Orion became angry, Uncle Peter picked up a bottle of wine from the side and poured

it straight into the glass box.

I don’t know what kind of wine it was. Even if the snake in the glass box was wounded by nails and

“Aurora.” Orion stood straight and stopped me right away.
