CHAPTER 27

Paws thudding through the forest floor, cold night air swept through them as the beast in her hand sprinted around each tree in its way. Despite all this, Selena could only hear her heartbeat, beating loud in her ears. Tears rolled down the corner of her eyes and flew away with the wind, as her body ached so much and she is losing her strength to hold on. “Zaden…” she whispered and her voice disappeared in the whooshing wind but Zaden heard her with his wolf’s hearing. He pushed as much as he can. He felt her grip loosening just in time for their destination. Zaden laid down and turned his body to gently slide off Selena. She did slide off him and sat on the ground, legs folded to one side and hands pushing the ground to support her upper torso. Zaden shifted back to human and wore jeans that he carried in his mouth. He then crotched next to her

“Are you ok?” he asked in low voice and a frown. She shook her head

“I can’t…I can’t breathe…” she barely had her eyes opened. Her breathing hitched and she was sweating profusely despite the cold surrounding. Zaden sat crossed leg and pulled her to his lap, embracing her to his chest

“Shu…it will be fine…you are a Samrat, remember?” Zaden tried to give her hope but she had become so weak, her head dropped limp in his arms as tears rolled down her cheeks. She could feel the world around her shrinking and her body turning numb, bit by bit. Her oxygen supply wasn’t enough that each breath sent a sharp pain to her spine. She begged her suffering to end but only tears came out. Finally, her world started blurring out, bit by bit.

“It shouldn’t be this hard…” Zaden whispered as a drop of tear rolled down his cheek. He bit his lower lip and hugged her dead-like body closer to his body.

“Come on baby…I have seen your wolf. You are strong…” he grabbed her palm and placed it over his cheeks. It was cold as ice. She was unconscious

“Selena…don’t” Zaden is now standing behind her, stopping her hand. She looked up over her shoulder, biting her lips as she continued her act, unzipping the dress completely

“You can let her shift on other days…why does she have this panic attacks every time you come out?” Zaden said in low, soothing voice. She smiled as she move closer, his body warmth engulf her

“What do I get in exchange for this information?” she wrapped her legs around his waist and he bit his lips with a smile
