My anxiety increased when I heard Pamela ‘s panicked voice , as my father-in-

law has always had a weak heart , but it was under control recently , so I wondered why he would have

a sudden attack . “ Call the ambulance , quickly ! ”

“ I already did that , Linda . I can’t talk to my brother , so can you come ?”

“ First , go to the hospital . I will be on my way .”

“ What ‘s up ? Isabel looked at me with concern in her eyes .

“ My father-in-law had a heart attack , so I have to go to the hospital . ”

As I left with a bag in my hand , Isabel came

That night , my mother-in-law and sister-in-law could barely stay awake , so I was told to watch

over my father-in-law as they

noticed I was n’t tired before falling asleep in bed next to him . The next morning , my father-in-

law was awake while the phone

callde Carlos was finally answered . I suppressed my emotions as I informed him of his father ‘s hospit

alization , as well as the fact that his father was out of danger , so he should concentrate on his so –

called work .

However , he did n’t seem to notice the sarcasm in my tone as he rushed to the hospital that afternoon

After suffering from insomnia two nights in a row , I fell

asleep as soon as I got into bed . I was awakened by the
