SOFT MOANS

Thirty Seven

"It's not about that ma'am, you see we can't give your son, your husband blood because, your son is

dead." The doctor broke the news.

The whole waiting room became silent, no one said a word. They all stared at the doctor in shock,

"what did you just say." Mrs Greg asked shocked, her heart beating so fast than the normal rate.

Doctor David felt a little uncomfortable, this was one of the things he hates doing as a doctor, breaking

the news of a person death to their family, and watch the gruesome look on their face. "Ma'am, I know

this is a shock but your son is dead, we couldn't...."

Alexia got up from her couch, and rushed over to the doctor held him by the collar, stopping him from

his speech."SHUT UP!! SHUT THE F*UK UP, DOCTOR. My brother isn't dead, he is alive. No! No! No!

No!. You are lying, my brother is alive, Aaron is not dead. There's got to be something wrong, okay. He

promised to always be there, so he is not dead. He can't be dead. So just shut the f*ck up." Alexia

yelled, in the doctors face.

"Alexia, calm down honey, hey it's going to be okay." Mr Greg said, dragging her away from the doctor.

"Forgive my daughter sir, she's my son's twin sister, so the impact of his death is carrying out on her

really heavily." Mr Greg apologise.

"That's alright sir. Erm, I saw this paper clutched tightly on this boys hand, I think it's a letter. Here it is."

The doctor hands over the white paper to me Greg, Mr Greg only reads the first line of the letter and

then hands it over to his daughter, knowing it's for her.

Alexia sits on her bed, just staring at the wall. She felt empty, like, there was no reason for her to live

anymore. She stopped staring at the wall, and instead stared at the letter on her bedside drawer. Since

her father gave her the letter, she had not had the courage to read it.

*Hey, if you are probably reading this, then I must have been dead by now. Alexia I know this is a really

stupid decision, and I know you think so to. But I'm really sorry, I couldn't see another way to go around

this, and this was this only solution I could get. One of us have to die Alexia, the world will never except

our love, I had to sacrifice myself Alexia, so you could live happily. Go to college, and get married, give

birth to beautiful kids. Alexia, this is me saying goodbye, I love you sis, I love you so much.* Alexia

folds the paper in-between her palm, breaking down in tears.

"You shouldn't have done this, Aaron. You shouldn't have killed yourself, this is not the only solution,

death is not the solution, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Alexia cried out, screaming so loud,

pulling her hair so hard.

"You shouldn't have taken your life, you shouldn't have taken your life, you shouldn't have taken your

life, you shouldn't have take your life, you shouldn't have taken your life." Alexia whispered repeatedly,

laying down on the cold floor, tears streaming down her eye lid.

Two months later

Alexia stared at the pregnancy test stick in her hand, she takes in a deep sigh siting on the toilet seater.

She's pregnant, and she has no idea of what to do, the only thing she knows, is, she has to keep this

abominable baby in her.

She gets up from the toilet seater and goes into her bedroom, wore her shirt and then also leaves her

room.

"Alexia, honey, do you need anything darling." Mrs Greg asks on seeing her daughter climbing down novelbin

the stairs.

"I need to talk to you and dad." Alexia answered simply, walking past her mum to the sitting room.

"Did she just talk to you." Mr Greg asked surprised, walking to where his wife is standing. They were

already used to alexis staying in her room all day and whenever she gets out, she wouldn't say a thing

to anybody. She would eat quietly and so whatever she wants to do without saying a word, staring

ahead of her.

"Yes she did, Steve. I hope this would be the end of all this, I hope I've gotten my daughter back." Mrs

Greg said.

"I hope so too, Ann. Come on, we should go the sitting room and hear what she wants to discuss." Mr

Greg held his wife hand and lead her to the sitting room, where they both sat down on a couch, a little

faraway from Alexia. Since her brother died, Alexia hates people coming closer to her.

"So... What do you want to talk about, Alexia." Mrs Greg asks, trying make her voice look very casual.

She didn't want to do anything that would send her daughter into her new found shell.

"Here." Alexia said and drop the pregnancy test stick on the table. Mrs Alexia looks at her husband

confused, and then goes on to take the pregnancy test stick from the table, she gasped on looking at it.

"You are pregnant." She asked really shocked.

"Yes." Alexia replied her mum simply.

Mr Greg put a hand on his wife shoulder, rubbing it softly, in a way to calm her down. "So.... what are

you going to do about it." Mr Greg asked.

"I'm keeping it. I know the both of you will not like this decision if mine, but I have to keep this baby, he

has nothing to do with the abomination Aaron and I committed. So, the both of you can't make me

abort this child." Alexia said, her eyes reflecting how serious she is.

Mrs Greg stood up from where she's sitting and then goes over to where her daughter is sitting,

"Alexia, I and your father would support you, in this decision. I have already lost your brother and I can't

lose you too, besides this baby in you, is my grandchild. I love you Alexia, I love you so much my

daughter." Her mum cried out, hugging her really tightly.

"I love you too mum, and I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for what I and Aaron did, if I didn't give in to this

insane love, Aaron would still be alive now, he wouldn't be...."

"Shhhh, It's okay. We shouldn't be talking about the past anymore, we should be talking about the

future. It's time we all accept Aaron death and move on." Mr Greg said, wrapping his arms around the

two most important people in his life.

"Thanks parents." Alexia said smiling. Her mum smiled back at her, happy that for the first time since

Aaron died, her daughter finally smiled.

**********

5years later

Alexia stood by her brother's grave, with a flower in her hand. "Hey, I know you are probably mad at me

and you are like, finally, she comes to visit me." She paused, laughing out, then continued, "I just

couldn't bare to see you, I couldn't process it that you are really dead, Aaron. But I had to come, it's

time I come visit you, and it's time my brain process that you are dead and you are not coming back."

She paused again, cleaning a few strands of tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Well... I got pregnant with your child, and today I brought her here to see you. She's really beautiful,

and looks just like you. You know, I was so relieved when I found I wasn't pregnant with twins.

Anywhere, here is your daughter, her name is Gem. She's a gem to me, come on Gem, say hi to your

father." Alexia urged her little daughter, "Hi dad, I brought flowers for you." Gem said in her little girly

voice, bending down to place the flower she brought for her dad, on his grave.

Alexia spent the whole day with her daughter in the graveyard, talking with Aaron. "Well, I better start

going Aaron. I promise I would always visit you, every Saturday, for the rest of my life. Bye Aaron."

Alexia pats his grave then gets up, smiling.

"Bye dad." Little Gem waved at her dad's grave and then held her mum her hand.

*One of us have to die, Alexia. The world will never accept our love.* Those words ring in her head.

Maybe the love between her and her brother wasn't the normal kind of love, maybe their love was filled

with lust and abominable acts, but it was still pure and true. Her brother would always be in heart and

she doesn't really think, she would ever have a Mr in her life, she's quite alright with her daughter and

she's her world, her gem. A product of a formidable love.
