Chapter 17 Who Is Alex Jefferson

The next day, after sending Stanley to the kindergarten. Alex went to the office.

He had acquired Four Seas Corporation, and it was time for him to manage the company.

“Good morning. Mr. Jefferson!” James, who was on shift, hastily straightened up to greet Alex when he spotted the latter.

Ever since Alex demoted him, he had been resentful. Just the day before, he was about to pledge loyalty to Walt. Yet, before he could do that, he found out that the Wallace family had fallen from grace.

When he found out that Four Seas Corporation was behind its collapse, he immediately realized it had to be Alex’s plan.

Thus, he had no choice but to obediently continue his role as the security guard.

Alex did not spare James a glance. Right as he was about to park his electric scooter, a Maserati Executive GT suddenly drove over and crashed into the back of his electric scooter.

Fortunately, the driver stopped in time. Otherwise, Alex would have been knocked over as well.

Frowning, Alex studied his scooter before realizing that the electric scooter he had been riding for four years had reached its end.

“It looks like I’ll have to buy a vehicle.”

Alex sighed. He was a sentimental man, so he never changed his scooter for something else.

After a glance at the car, Alex assumed that the driver was a novice driver, so he decided to just let the matter slide.

Yet, to his surprise, a beautiful woman came out of the Maserati when the car stopped.

Heads turned when the woman appeared.

She was wearing heels and a skin–tight dress that showed off her seductive figure. A woman like her would be the center of attention no matter where she went. novelbin

“That’s Madison Zucker, the star who has been trending recently!”

“I know, right? I heard that the massive franchise, Flair of the City, has her as the lead female!”

“She’s definitely going to be trending for a while again once that show airs.”

The employees, who were on their way to work, were discussing among themselves when they caught sight of Madison.

Right then, a woman around the age of thirty stepped out of the car from the front passenger seat’s side.

Madison relished in the people’s attention for a moment before jabbing a finger at Alex and insulting, “You useless piece of trash. Do you even know how to ride an electric scooter?”

Alex furrowed his brows and replied in a glacial tone, “Shouldn’t I be the one asking that question? Did you see how you were driving? Why don’t you take a good look at your car?”

Not only was the body of the car slanted by sixty degrees, but even the tires were resting on the parking

lines.

“Who do you think you are to make comments about my driving? Do you know who I am?” Madison snarled, her embarrassment turning into fury.

Sure enough, she had only gotten her driving license. However, Alex’s remarks only made her irritated.

“Who you are has nothing to do with me. I’m just wondering if you’ve gotten your driving license through illegal means. Why else would you be this terrible at driving?” Alex jeered.

Madison fumed. Not only did the loser not recognize her, a famous celebrity, but he was also insinuating that she had bought her driving license. She gritted her teeth, nearly growling.

“You better watch that mouth of yours. I’ll sue you for slander if you don’t!” the other woman threatened.

“Go on, then. I’ll be waiting for the court to summon me.” Alex taunted, sneering.

“Which department are you from? What’s your name?” the other woman demanded. She was going to pull strings to get that young man fired.

Knowing what her manager was trying to do, Madison glared at Alex and parroted, “That’s right. I dare you to tell me which department you’re from and what your name is.”

“His name is Alex Jefferson, and he’s a security guard,” someone suddenly said.

“Oh? So you’re a security guard! Hmph! I hope you’re ready to pack up and leave by today!” After giving Alex a smug look, Madison went back into her car to park it.

Alex’s lips curled before re–parking his electric scooter. Then, he turned around and entered the office. building.

“Alex, I’m surprised you’re still in the mood for work. I thought your wife has gone to keep Mr. Wallace company?” a receptionist mocked.

She was Madison’s fan, and Alex had just insulted her favorite celebrity without apologizing to Madison.

“Does a man who’s living off a woman have the right to lord over his wife? Even if he has the guts for it, he doesn’t have the power to pull that off. In other words, if you want to live off someone, you’ve got to be prepared to be cheated on.”

The others began cackling as well, not at all concerned about hurting Alex’s feelings.

Alex’s gaze at them turned icy.

Smack! Smack! Smack!

Right then, James dashed over to slap them, a murderous look in his eyes. “Who the f*ck do you think you are to insult Mr. Jefferson? You must have a death wish!”

“James, how dare you f*cking hit me? Do you think you’re still the manager of security guards?” The others were fuming. Despite their aggressive words, they did not dare to engage in a physical fight with James.

“So what if I hit you? You’re ignorant fools!” James scoffed before slapping them again.

One tried to retaliate, but they would never be able to win James, who delivered two more slaps that rendered them stunned.

After a glance at James, Alex muttered, “Not bad. Make a call to Jack and tell him that these people are all fired. Tell him that it’s an order from me.”

Without sparing those people another glance, Alex continued his way further into the building.

“Of course, Mr. Jefferson!” James was simultaneously thrilled and relieved.

After all, he had acted without seeking Alex’s permission, so he was worried that Alex would be displeased with his response.

But, now, he knew that he had done the right thing.

“W–W–What did you just call him?” the few of them stammered out in disbelief.

James just called Alex Mr. Jefferson! What’s going on?

James turned back to look at them coldly. “I was saving you by slapping you. If I didn’t do that, you’d still be in the dark after getting cast into hell. Messing with Mr. Jefferson means that you’ll die terribly, just like the Wallace family!”

“What? The Wallace family is gone?” they blurted out. The Wallace family’s business was a rather famous company in Nebula City, and they could not think of who could be that powerful to crush the Wallaces.

“Ha! You can check that online. That is what will happen to you if you cross Mr. Jefferson,” James uttered.

The four of them quickly checked the net on their phones before paling drastically.

“M–Mr. Jefferson is the one behind the destruction of the Wallace family?” one of the women asked in a shaky voice.

“Obviously.”

After rolling his eyes, James, who had Jack’s number, called Jack.

“Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Jefferson asked to fire four people–the receptionist Josie Wright, Leah Kelly and Zeke Hoding from Project Management Department. Sophie Gardner from Public Relations Department, too.”

“Did they cross Mr. Jefferson?” came Jack’s question.

“Yes. They just insulted him, and he was furious,” James replied.

“All right. I understand. I’ll get rid of them from the company right away.” With that, Jack ended the call.

James had left the call on speakers, so when those four people heard Jack’s words, their eyes widened as remorse flooded their minds.

They never thought Alex was that powerful–they thought he was just a security guard.

When did he become the Mr. Jefferson?

Aggrieved, Sophie asked, “Mr. Langdon, who in the world is Alex?”

“Someone not even Mr. Sawyer can afford to offend.”

After giving them one last curt look, James returned to his post.

In the meantime. Sophie and the rest were pursing their lips, still gripped by disbelief.

On the other side. Madison parked her car and entered the building with her manager.

“Madison, you have to be your best self when you meet the new chairman later. If the chairman likes you, you’ll definitely be the female lead for the major franchises of this year,” her manager whispered to her.

Madison nodded solemnly. “Don’t worry, Felicia. I’m going to be the female lead for the company’s three major franchises. I’ll definitely become the best actress of all time!”

“Mm. that’s good to hear. I’ve already talked to Mr. Sawyer about this, and he said he’d make the necessary arrangements. Let’s go.” With a satisfied inclination of her head, the manager led Madison to the elevator.
