I didn’t return to the party and headed straight to my room, not caring about what will people thought,
they were free to think whatever they wanted.
They can consider me arrogant for having the Alpha king’s as a mate, I really don’t care.
Oh G*d, what happened? Why is he suddenly like that?
Annoyance still filling me, I slammed the door to my room and shouted loudly because of the situation
that happened today.
5 years of me trying to be the way I am now, stronger without the need to cry over my misfortune, he
came and broke my wall again.

“Gwen, it’s mom”
I took a long breath to calm myself when I heard my mum’s voice in front of my room before opening
the door and letting her in.
She smiled and hugged me.
“I know you must be sad to have to leave again” She said and I quickly realized that is this what people
think I was upset about? I’m just coming to my hometown and then having to leave again because I
found my mate?!
How should I explain it?
So I just nodded my head in her arms.
“My dear… Finding your fated mate is the most beautiful thing…” my mum said softly as she placed her

that far ahead” she said and I was saddened to hear the pride in her voice.
Is being the king’s mate something to be proud of? Why?
I’m just quiet, don’t know how to respond….
“He explained how you had a dilemma because you just came” My mum explained and I tried not to
snort when I heard the king lied to her and my dad, what dilemma?! “but, your father understands and
so do I, even the Alphas who came are happy that you’re the king’s mate” I sighed and take a seat in
my bed.
I know my mom thought maybe that’s what’s happening to me right now and she came to calm my
nerves.
If only she or people know….

The people there were surprised to see me, but some couples were happy that a female doctor had
come to help.
Dr. Malik, one of the senior doctors, although surprised, was happy that I came and helped so he gave
me my supposedly office as long as I wanted to work there.
I worked because I didn’t want to take the selfish man who claimed to be my mate seriously.
Not because I’m arrogant or feel superior, but I’m trying to predict if at any time he rejects me again, so

Sighed loudly, I put my phone back on the table.
Ignoring him, I continued to take my work seriously.
Working always makes me forget about him, it’s what I’ve been doing since he rejected me, studying
and working hard so there’s no time to think about him.

“Look, who’s here?!” Daniel smirked on the door before he walked inside my office.
I smile and kiss his cheek “What are you doing here? and it’s early!” We all know how he loves his

For a moment I was at a loss for what to say, because whatever I said would definitely be revealed,
considering that I was currently in a room that was not soundproof and with the werewolf hearing of the
people around me, they would know the secret I had been keeping all this time.

I hurriedly looked into the king’s eyes which, surprisingly, locked onto mine.

Why is he always looking at me like that?
“I see…” He whispered softly and confused me as Daniel smiled at him.
“I’ll take my leave then” My cousin continued and patted my back before leaving my room.
What the hell is going on?! I’m left confused.
