I'm in the living room dusting the furniture while Damien is on the couch using his laptop. I felt him

watching me

''Is there something wrong?'' I asked

''Why do you ask that?''

''I felt you staring at me''

He opened his mouth to answer but the door bell rang

''I'll get it''

I went and opened the door. I smiled widely when I saw who it was

''Jake!''

He attacked me with a hug

''Hey Carla, I missed you''

We pulled away

''Aw I missed you too''

Damien cleared his throat from behind me

''Hello'' Jake greeted

''Hi, and you are?" Damien asked

''I'm Jake''

''He's my friend from school'' I responded

Damien's face did not look good at all. He looked like he would strangle Jake at the slightest

opportunity.

''Who's he?'' Jake asked me

''This is Damien. .uh my...''

I didn't know what to say

''Boyfriend'' Damien said

''Oh'' Jake looked disappointed

''Yeah that's it'' I said

Oh wow. I was not expecting that

''Can I talk to you outside?'' Jake asked me

I stepped outside closing the door behind me

''You never told me you had a boyfriend'' he frowned

He looked at me for a while then shook his head.

He handed me a box of chocolate with red roses

I collected them from him with a wide smile.

''I was worried about you in school. I didn't see you for a whole week''

''Sorry, are you okay now?''

''Yeah, I'll come to school tomorrow':

''The principal announced that there's gonna be prom next week Wednesday. I wanted to know if you'd

like to go with me''

My heart did cartwheels. I've never been asked to a school dance before. I am over excited. The best

part is I'll be going with a cute guy.

''I'd love to''

''Won't your boyfriend be mad?"

''One..he's not my boyfriend. Two . He doesn't have to know''

I entered the house with a big smile on my face.

Damien stood there with a big scowl on his face

He took them from me and threw them in the fire place

He walked up the stairs. I don't know where the confidence was coming from but I followed him to his

office closing the door behind us

I'm determined to know why
