I entered the kitchen. Eric was dancing with his headphones on

''Good morning'' I greeted

''Good morning. TGIF baby!''

I laughed

''Hey, I need to talk to you'' I told him

He removed his headphones novelbin

''What's up?''

We sat at the dining table

''I kinda need your help''

''I'm listening''

''We're having prom in my school next Wednesday''

''And?''

''I asked Damien to go with me but he refused saying how it isn't good for his reputation''

''He said I should take you''

''So? I don't see a problem here''

I told him everything about how Jake asked me to prom till yesterday's event.

''Oh I get it now''

''I need to take you as cover. He can't know I'm going with Jake''

''Okay" he shrugged "I'll help you''

I squealed and hugged him

''He um I was thanking him for offering me a ride to school''

As I walked through the cafeteria I spotted Jake sitting alone. I went over and sat next to him

''Hey'' he said

''Hello''

''I haven't seen you all day''

''Aww, did someone miss me?''

I pinched his cheek

''I have news''

''I can go to prom with you''

He looked confused.

''Your boyfriend said no?''

''He had other plans''

I took a bite from my sandwich

I ate my food in silence. Every now and then, i noticed he would glance at me, smile then shake his

head. I was stunned.

''Its good to see you like this'' he said

''All happy and stuff. The Carla I knew before wasn't like this'''

I smiled

''I'm happy for you and I'm also happy I'll be going to prom with you''

I smiled. He's so sweet.

''Are you going to buy a dress?''

''Naah. I'll use one of the dresses I have''

''Nope, I have one already''

We ate in silence for a while, just taking in our surroundings

''You've got to tell me the color of your gown so I can get a matching corsage''

''Of course yeah I'm going to prom with the most beautiful girl in my class I have to be on point''

I opened my mouth to respond but someone else did

''Aw but you haven't asked me yet''

Rachel sat on the chair opposite us. Where did she come from?

I groaned

''You said you're going to prom with the most beautiful girl in class. I'm surprised cause you haven't

asked me but it's okay. Since you're cute I'll gladly accept''

''I was talking about Carla"

''Didn't your mother tell you it's a bad thing to lie?"
